Ape 50 – Vergaserdüsen reinigen. Rost im Tank!

Ape 50 – Vergaserdüsen reinigen. Rost im Tank!

Hello everyone. Today’s video is again about my Ape “Bee”. Yesterday I drove a few kilometers and suddenly nothing worked, it stopped! After I looked at everything, I realized that the inside of the tank was rusted. The rust has clogged the fuel filter and the carburettor jets! “Bee” didn’t want to drive anymore.

Today I’ll see if I can fix the problem. The repair is only necessary as an emergency. A new tank will have to be installed soon. Here we go. Get to work!!! The first step is to remove the air filter because I forgot to install the spacer when cleaning it .

I wanted to do everything quickly and forgot this little part. Ok, let’s take the air filter off and put the spacer in. In the next step… …I’ll remove the carburettor and look at the nozzles… …and clean them thoroughly again. I hope the “Bee” will start again and I can drive it away.

Then I’ll look for a new tank. Ape Thomas advised me to use a plastic tank… …because it… …is not as vulnerable as a metal tank. So. The carburettor is exposed. But the first thing I’m going to do now is repair the air filter. This is the air filter box.

Since it has some erasers, I taped it with duct tape. The Ape draws false air through the holes in the housing and does not move. I’m removing the tape now. Here you can see one of the holes in the air filter box. This little hole creates false air!

Due to the intake of incorrect air, the engine does not run smoothly! After the repair, the air filter box is temporarily glued again with tape. A new air filter box will be installed soon. The air filter box cannot remain in this condition. “Bee” is gradually being restored.

It should be finished by next spring. IF everything goes according to plan!!! The fact that she stopped recently was very annoying. I had to push her a good distance! Luckily the Ape is not big and not too heavy… …it wasn’t a big problem. The tape is difficult to remove!

The tape is removed. Now I loosen the screws on the air filter box. I had replaced the gasket on the air filter box and forgot the spacer! Ape Thomas then told me that it needed to be installed… …so I’m installing it again now. This is the spacer. Insert, seal back on.

I hope I can use them again! We left the seal a little larger when installing it. The seal has expanded. Installation is a bit difficult! I have to shorten the seal a little. The seal is inserted. Now I screw the air filter box back together. -An Ape fan is watching- “Hi” Hi.

Now I’m putting the air filter box back together. Ape Fans: “We were just talking about how incredibly cool this vehicle is.” Now I’m sticking the air filter box back together with duct tape… …since I don’t have a new air filter box yet, there’s no other option at the moment…

Because the parts for the “bee” aren’t cheap! The Ape is still costing me a lot of money! But the little racer from Italy is worth it to me. Anyone who has an Italo Bee like this can be proud of it. Luckily mine doesn’t need that many repairs!

She is 33 years old and I can fix a lot of things myself. Now I’ll glue the air filter box shut again. This way it doesn’t draw in any false air. I hope the tape holds up! It’s only temporary. Bee will be put in an underground car park tomorrow and

Will be restored over the winter. Now it has to work first so that I can drive it into the underground car park. The repairs are very primitive , but they have to fulfill their purpose for the time being. Any Ape mechanic would curse me for this type of repair!

Again, it’s an emergency repair… …so I can drive a short distance. Yesterday the Ape was still running wonderfully… …when the rust spread through the fuel circuit, nothing worked anymore. Brown liquid came out of the fuel filter. I then immediately replaced the fuel filter. Now I hope that my temporary repairs

Work and I can drive a short distance later. It’s not far to the underground car park. The restoration of the Ape then begins in the garage. I hope the air filter box now serves its purpose again. Now I’m looking at the carburetor jets. Unscrew the carburettor. It’s pretty tight under the Ape.

When “Bee” stopped yesterday evening, I couldn’t fix everything properly. it was already dark. Today I’ll take another look. (Biene will still need a few parts. If you want to help me with the restoration of “Biene”, you are welcome to support me. Use the PayPal link at the bottom of my channel info.

Thank you very much) Is that closely under “Biene “. Lol. I must have grabbed the wrong tool! Since I don’t have a lift available, I have to carry out the repair this way. Hooray. The carburettor is finally off. And now I’m going to remove the carburettor jets. Put the lid down.

Some fuel is leaking. Remove and clean the first nozzle. It’s not the main jet, it’s a secondary jet! Brake cleaner should work. The nozzle is blocked! Now the first nozzle is clean again. I’ll install it back in the carburetor. Now I’m going to remove the wide nozzle. The main jet.

The main jet is cleaned. The main jet is clean. I’ll install it back in the carburetor. Oh, something must have slipped. The needle that holds the float on the carburetor. Problem solved. Now put the carburetor back together. Now things have to happen quickly. A lot of gas is leaking!

The carburettor needs new seals. I also have to replace the screws. The restoration must begin soon. So none of this makes any sense! The fuel tap is closed. No petrol should leak! Gasoline no longer runs out. The fuel hose was not sitting properly on the fuel filter.

Now the third carburettor jet is cleaned. It sits very loosely in the carburettor… I couldn’t screw it on properly in the dark yesterday. That should be the nozzle for the idle. Correct me if that’s wrong. It’s my first Ape. I have a lot to learn. The nozzle was very dirty.

Now the nozzle is clean. I’ll install it back in the carburetor. I hope the “Bee” works again now. Gasoline is still running out. I’ll check the fuel hose again soon . First put something underneath. I have to carefully screw in the carburettor jet. -Some people are watching me while I’m doing the repairs-

I grabbed the wrong tool again. The third jet is back in the carburetor. Now the carburettor goes back onto the intake manifold. Take a quick look at the fuel filter. We continue with installing the carburettor. I hope that the “Bee” will start again after the repair… …I can’t stay here…

…the fees for parking in the city are very high… …a parking space costs 2€ per hour! Ape repair on Sunday, in the middle of the city. Lol. The carburettor is seated again. Now the air filter box goes back on. To all Ape screwdrivers who have been

Working on their Ape for a long time: I look forward to receiving many tips from you. What can I do better? Where do I need to change something?… …No tuning tips. My “bee” remains in its original condition! Leave me your tip in the comments. Thank you. I watch a lot of your videos,

But some of them don’t help me. So. Everything put back together. Let’s see if “Bee” starts! The repair was carried out primitively. I don’t have space to screw yet and I still have to get spare parts. I can then do more with the Ape in the underground car park.

She should be back on the road next spring. As I said, I’m a beginner and still have a lot to learn. So let’s see if it can be started again. Yay. the bee buzzes again. If you liked the video,… …give me a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel.

There will be a few more videos about my Ape. Thanks for watching and see you soon.
