The seminar for Net-Zero and Well-Being in Life
Demand side measures have been one of the key topics in recent G7/G20 discussions. Jointly organized by the G20 Presidency of India and the G7 Presidency of Japan, this seminar provides opportunities to share experiences and good practices on demand-side policies and business initiatives with each other. The objective of this seminar is to foster efforts at various levels and stakeholders, including businesses, local and national governments, organizations, and individuals, in each country to accelerate changes in consumer lifestyles and behaviors related to climate change and the environment in the critical decade to 2030. The seminar includes speeches from governments of India and Brazil, OECD, presentations from private sector, as well as the presentation of the summary of the online workshop held on November 16th. This seminar was held on December 8th at the COP28 Japan Pavilion.
2023年４月に西村日本国環境大臣とインド共和国ヤーダブ環境・森林・気候変動大臣とのバイ会談において、需要側・消費者の行動変容が気候変動対策に重要との共通認識の下、生活様式の変化や持続可能な消費者選択に関するＧ７／Ｇ20合同ワークショップを開催することが確認されました。
2023年12月8日に、COP28ジャパンパビリオンにて、「The Seminar for Net-zero and Well0being in Life」が開催されました。このセミナーは、需要サイドに関する政策や事業者の取組についての経験や優良事例を相互に共有することで、各国における様々な取組を強化し、消費者のライフスタイルや行動の変化を加速させることを目的に、Ｇ７議長国として需要側対策・暮らし分野で世界をリードする日本がＧ20議長国インドとも連携して開催されました。インド政府/ブラジル政府/OECDの挨拶、民間事業者からのプレゼンテーションに加え、11月16日に行われたオンラインワークショップのサマリも発表されました。
