I never get tired of their drama's, they are both great actors. It honestly never feels tiresome seeing this cute married couple together. I can't believe they are coming up on their 1 year anniversary. (I heard they got married in October. ) Thanks for the upload. 😊❤😊❤😊❤
The ending is a cliffhanger huh.
Leave it to your own imagination.
Thank you thank you so much
I have seen this little gem of a C-Drama already and ❤ the fact that the leads are also a real-life married couple and are wonderful actors. They have co-starred in numerous productions and in fact, their works were actually my FIRST viewing experience when I started watching C-Dramas on YT last year and I binged watch several of their joint C-Dramas on my very first day back in October 2024. What a sweet couple they make and they seem so blissfully happy, connected and caring towards each other. I absolutely adore that and it makes me smile whenever I see that there are happy marriages, positive relationships and connections. ❤
I am going to re-watch this one later on your channel as I am busy working remotely from home. Gotta go help save the world and find cures and effective treatments now. Truth. 🌟
I will always love this story for having a complex female friendship that wasn't about competing for a man. I mean, yes, technically it was a man since it was about Sang Nian's father-figure (who turned out to be her biological father) vs Chu Yao's father (who turned out to be her adopted father), but it was NOT about fighting over his love, even in the paternal sense. Nian only saw him as a mentor and wasn't interested in "stealing" him from her friend, and Chu Yao's issues with her "father" predated Nian's arrival (since Chu Yao's real biological father was his enemy). She was just frustrated – naturally – that her father was showing this new recruit more care and interest in a few days than he ever showed her in her life. And Nian was mature about this, first feeling sad that her new friend was inexplicably disliking her, then going out of her way to talk to her about the situation when she found out the truth, and even calling her mentor/father out on his bias. While Chu Yao also realized she was being irrational and apologized for her behaviour and resolved to stop letting her emotionally abusive father affect her sense of self-worth.
The biggest problem with this adaptation is that the story is too short. Just the first half of the webnovel (before she dies), should have been two parts. Every adaptation cuts out Shen Mingchao which is criminal because he was not just comic relief! His complicated feelings about Sang Nian (falling in love with her, then realizing (1), he had no chance with her, and (2) he liked Chenzhou to even resent him, and (3) it would be better to be her friend and keep 5 new friends, than fail at being her suitor and have no one – all while never once telling or showing her his feelings) – is probably the best written love triangle I've read in a webnovel.
But we needed more time to see the adventures Nian and Chenzhou went through that bonded them. By cutting out the trials, we don't see why Nian is such a big deal when she arrives at the schools and why all the Masters want to mentor her. The back-story of genocide, conspiracy and revenge is barely touched on, and the big reveals fall flat because they never built up these people to be trustworthy. Also Zhouchen being Chenzhou's mirror (their names are literally the same in reverse) and this gorgeous, perfect person isn't just a running joke. It's the reason why framing Chenzhou for his death is such a HSQ. And he doesn't even die in this story!
So while I enjoy this story a lot, I really, really, really wish the producers had been braver and made it in at least two parts. I know these short dramas are very self-contained and this isn't their business policy but this is one of the rare times, when it would have been worth it. Considering how many people love this version, even with all its plot holes and incomplete ending, a two-parter done properly would have been extremely successful.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
After I started re-watching this C-Drama, I realized that I never actually finished it and had forgotten most of the storyline. 😂
So, it was a nice surprise to finally watch this wonderful C-Drama in its entirety. 💖
The plotline is very interesting and quite touching. It is definitely a gem of a C-Drama but I might be a bit biased (because it starred one of my most favorite real-life couples!).
There were emotional scenes filled with sadness, humor, acceptance and affection between the ML and the FL during their road to self-discovery, friendship and love.
The friendship that was formed between the lead couple with the 3 sect companions was such a welcome development. ❤ how the ML and FL were accepted into their sect and how they responded when they found out the true identity of the ML. Would have liked to see what happens next…
Enjoyed watching the ML slowly accept the FL's friendship and fall in love with her and the unexpected bond between them (since he had initially only wanted to kill her). Their scenes together were so natural, sweet and adorable.
This storyline had incredibly positive plot points which was very soothing to my soul. It was such a wonderful change to see females being able to accept and genuinely support each other and form a special friendship instead of tearing each other apart. There was NO scheming, slandering or stealing.
It was awesome to see that this C-Drama did not use the dynamic that almost everyone is bad and only the leads and those that support them are good. Truth is that both the "good" sect and "evil" sect had kind people in them, who wanted to do the right thing for themselves.
Although the ML was mistreated as a young child and was adopted into an evil sect and became their "Young Master", he did not stay "bad" but evolved into someone who could care, love and be "good".
Although there was a bit of jealousy between the FL and her senior sister early on, this was resolved between them immediately. It was admirable how the FL wanted to handle the misunderstanding and was sweetly sincere to the senior sister.
The FL was so darn sweet and adorable since the beginning, it was inevitable that she would be win over the ML and her sect companions.
This C-Drama had some nice characters, revelations and light romance making it a worthwhile watch.💖
Good storyline.❤
Excellent CP.❤
Satisfactory cast acting.❤
