At the time, I didn’t make a big deal out of it. Plus, with the time passing… I thought it must have fizzled out! But you brought that up again on the TV show! That’s why I uploaded Instagram story of it. This is our third meet! How was it when you first met me? My face has never turned red… when I met someone. But when I first met you, I was blushing! When you see the dance challenge video… my face looks so red! I didn’t know why at first. Oh wow! I can’t stop saying she is so cute! Thank you! What’s your goal for the day? We should decorate them together! Sounds great! When did you start baking? Since when I was in middle school, I did some baking when I get free time. I used to do it with my sister. Most recently, we did a show on "death note"! On top of that… one time we were given a crime scene where someone died. So we should figure out the killer and in the process… we have to challenge each other. It’s very different! We are on a different page on that. I’ve heard you won a child beauty pageant! It was probably on Children’s Day… I checked you uploaded a photo of you. I was amazed by it! Thank you! At what point did you learn that you are pretty? At what point? When I was little… adults used to compliment… my look. So that’s probably when! How old were you? Around the time I understood words? So you knew all this time! You knew you are pretty! I bet you knew! You are so pretty! I was a cute baby. When I was little… I didn’t have much hair. So when my mom brings me outside… people used to say "it’s a cute boy!" Even when I didn’t have much hair… my mom had me wear a ribbon hair clip! But people would still confuse me with a boy. That happened when I was a baby. I’ve heard you were a school president! When I was in elementary school! Did you volunteer for the position? Yes. You weren’t shy then! I was! But I liked being in the spotlight! So you are born to be a superstar! I was excited when… I heard a member of NMIXX looks a lot like Sana and Tzuyu! A member who looks a lot like Sana and Tzuyu is… making a debut! People tend to adore someone when they can see some resemblance! On top of that, she likes me back! So I can’t help but to like her! Thank you! There’s another viral thing! The "Full Moon" dance video! When I first checked out that video… NMIXX can all sing live while… dancing! I couldn’t believe that you could dance… while singing live! You are amazing! I recall that! So I asked around… whether if they saw NMIXX’s video! Do you know what I’m talking about? The live performance? Exactly! Whenever you perform live… I’m so proud of you and… I want people to know that! You are so pretty while you can dance and sing so well! I love your tone of voice even! I was actually not content with that live performance. Really? I could do better than that! So I was a bit bummed! You should have commented on the video than! "I’m Sullyoon. Please check this link out!" You could add the link! I’ve imagined… when I get food delivered, sometimes there’s a mix-up. For instance… when I order a blueberry cream-cheese bagel… they sometimes leave out the cream cheese! When it’s frustrating! I think about leaving the comment. I do give that a thought! But since my legal name is… in English… Have you? Me neither! I’m sure some celebrities must have! Some must have complimented themselves on the comment box. Some must have complimented themselves on the comment box. I’m sure if they are given a chance, they would! They sometimes leave out the cream cheese! How tough is the practice session for singing live? We do it over and over. We dance while singing! Sometimes our practice rooms are adjacent to each other. Then I can hear you singing. Sometimes there are videos on a computer. Wow, that must be hard. You keep dancing while singing. So awesome. I’m so proud of you. Don’t you find it hard? I’ve been doing this since I was a trainee. So I got used to it. You must have had a different instructor. Has the system changed? My instructor wasn’t that scary. And I don’t perform well when I’m scared. I liked the training. You’re so adorable! Were there any basic training? You mean like basic choreography? No. – You didn’t get it? – I don’t know what you’re talking about. When I just got into the company there was an instructor who gave us basic training. I didn’t speak Korean back then. And the first word I learned there was "Harder!" "Harder!" The instructor used that word so many times. So we had to jump as high as we can. We had to keep jumping until we jumped as high as the instructor wanted. Only the ones who satisfied the instructor could rest. But back then, I didn’t understand the meaning of "Harder." I kept jumping, but I couldn’t take a break. I was like, "How long do I have to do this?" The foreign trainees including me kept jumping because we didn’t understand the instruction. We were like, "What is going on?" That was a really hard day for me. – I guess that didn’t happen to you. – No. What a great memory. "Harder!" How long has it been since you debuted? – Two years. – I see. We did a live stream two months ago for the two year anniversary. You’re just getting started. Wow. It doesn’t get any easier even if you’ve been doing this for two years. I sleep a lot. So it’s really hard for me when I have to promote a new song. What’s difficult is not the fatigue itself – but how the fatigue makes your performance worse, right? – That’s right. I want to dance well – but I can’t do that because of the fatigue. – Right. You want to move like this – but you just can’t – Right. – And you want to sing as hard as you can… – Right. – But you just can’t do that. – Right. What’s even harder when you just debuted is that you have to do recording for a music show. And, uh you’re allotted the worst time slot. Right. If it’s been less than three years, you have to be there really early at dawn. And if it’s been six years, you get a time slot that’s neither too early nor too late. You don’t want to stay awake for it but you can’t really go to bed, either. It’s gotten a lot better for me. Let’s do a quick balance game. Would you live as yourself or would you get a new random body and 1 billion won? I’ll just live as myself. How would you rate your own face? Seven out of ten. What’s your hobby? I like to sing at a karaoke. What’s your ideal type of a man? I know this is a difficult question to answer. A kind person? Very good. I got used to this question only after eight to nine years. She’s doing great. When you’re new to this you say things like a kind man or a sweet guy. Or someone like my dad. Those are the things you say. I’m sure all K-pop idols feel the same way. Would you live with your own face or get a new random face and 10 billion won? I’d live with my own face. There’s a reason. The question says I could only get a new random face. If it was a body, I would get a new body. You might get a great body like that of a super model. Tall and slender. That’s something I want to have. But just a new face? She made two. I only made one. Yours look like a chick. Look at mine. – So ugly. – It’s adorable. This one’s green. So cute. If you add this one things start to look ugly. No, yours is cute, too. What do you keep inside this one? – This is for… – Accessories? small things. This is artificial tear. It’s really refreshing. – It does look that way. – Yeah. It’s really refreshing. My eyes get dry easily when I’m wearing contact lenses. So I use these eye drops a lot. – You’d be a good commercial model for that. – You think? Please contact her. This is hand cream. One of the members gave me this as a gift. It was Jiwoo. Am I doing it right? Yes. These are adorable pins. You need them when you’re getting makeup. It feels good to wear adorable pins. I was completely fine when I gave it to the other member. But I regretted after a while when I was really tired. That did happen. I love your honesty. And this is a comb. A comb. I wear headphones usually. But when I have schedules – I don’t wear them because they mess up my hair. – Right. So I use AirPods. And let me show you what’s in this pouch. I can see you’re into cartoon characters. This is Crayon Shin-chan. I wear this hairband when I’m washing my face. You wear it like this, right? I thought it would be cuter. That one looks like a blindfold. And I keep these for when I get hurt. It kind of feels good even when you’re hurt when you have such cute bandages. Right. I’m hurt! But it’s so cute. – It makes you feel good. – And I also keep these for when the other members get hurt. I always tell them I have a cute bandage when they’re looking for one. – But don’t you regret sharing them? – No. You’re such a nice person. I don’t regret, either. I thought the staff would ask me. I don’t regret it. And these are – bug repellents. – So cute. For repelling bugs. When do you use this one? When you’re performing on stage outside, you get a lot of bugs. Right, when you’re at a festival or something. I hate bugs. This is a medicine that I use with the bandage. And this is just… Why does your makeup artist ask you to carry that? I do use it because I have it in the bag. My lashes need a touchup every now and then. Because they’re so long? – I do have long lashes. – Long lashes tend to get saggy. And this is for checking my face. Right, you need to check your score today. A fan recognized me when I wasn’t wearing makeup. She asked, "Are you Sullyoon of NMIXX?" I was going back home after getting a skin therapy. – Ooh, you must have hated it. – Yeah. So I said, "No, I’m not." "I’m sorry." You shouldn’t have apologized. That sounds like you’re admitting you’re her. Then I got back home. I felt really sorry. But I really didn’t want her to know that I was Sullyoon. It’s better to meet a fan – right after you wake up. – Right. – After you get a skin therapy… – I know. – your hair is all messy – Right. – and you have lotion on your face. – Right. For me that’s the most… So these are what I carry in my bag. I would totally expect these in a woman’s bag. Very feminine. Can I take a photo, too? Sure. – Are you ready to reveal your fridge? – Yes. – Shall we open it? – Yes. Good. I can see that you’re a foodie just by looking at your fridge. I heard you love to eat. I do eat a lot, yeah. That’s an understatement. When you’re growing, you eat a lot. So eating yupdduk alone and along with 4 portion of meat and three bowls of rice with Cold Buckwheat Noodles. – Even the sushi – Right. There are foods that go in well. Tteokbokki, meat, sushi. Yupdduk don’t seem easy. That was your usual amount that you eat, right? Not anymore, but back then. Then tell me when you were over eating how much were you over eating and when you over eat now how much do you eat? In a day? Or in a meal? The standard is, wait a minute. Then tell me both. First, at that time I would have that much per meals and I would have three meals. After eating, I would think that my stomach is going to explode and fell asleep. It would explode! It is a great relief that you were able to go to sleep without having your stomach to explode. Then what about now? Now, if I eat as much as I used to then it would really explode. My over eating is rice dessert drink rice dessert drink rice dessert drink and snacks in between. But I would eat a lot when I could take in all those foods. How about talking to each other casually when introducing the refrigerator? Okay! Shall we speak casually? Sweet potato chip. Sweet potato chip. You are cute like Crayon Shin Chan. – Sweet potato chip. – I really like sweet potato, so. Ah, I see. I eat sweet potato chip as a snack often. And this is a barley tea. I don’t really like clear water. I can taste the unique flavor of the water, so I drink barley tea instead of just water. – Did the casual style of talking last for about 10 seconds? – I forgot. Did it last about 7 seconds? Cup noodle. It’s delicious. We would store it in our accommodation and eat it all together. This is mango, frozen mango. I would put it in the yogurt and eat it just eat them when I want to eat just the mango. and this is Ice sweet potato. So that I can eat it comfortably as I am going around to places. I would buy these things often. I would need to give up. I am going to give up speaking casually now. Ice cream. I eat this a lot too. It’s been on sale a lot lately. I bought 8 of them and – You did buy a lot. – I would share it with members. This is soft tofu stew. As I’ve been living in the trainee dormitory I would make a meal with Bae and – We’ve had soft tofu stew a lot then. – Ah, really? We’ve had it so much that we would get tired of it. Seaweed soup. Kind seaweed soup rice? I have been so much into the seaweed soup, so I eat it often. So seaweed soup. This is when I go grocery shopping with my mom my mom would say "no" but you know, putting things that you want in the cart without getting caught. Ah, right, right. That item was this for me. I’ve put this in without my mom realizing it and when it was time to pay she would say what’s this? and I would be like I put it in there. And I was the one that would make my mom pay them together. Why lemon? Do you like lemon? How… How do you like it? Eat it! I like sprinkling them on top, but I don’t eat them. I like it. You would eat lemon as if you are eating strawberries? There are times when they would come out sliced. I would just pick them up and eat. Why? Because they are delicious. Not out of curiosity, but because it’s good? – I like sour things. – Ah, really? You are a unique friend. Do you like sour things? Would you like to try? I like it, but I never thought about eating lemon. Hmm, it is fruity. Ah, it must be good for your health. But there, for those who are trying to get in shape shouldn’t even have something sweet or else they would be scolded. Now, there is a practice room like this. As the time goes by, I thought when I made my first debut, I wished to know more about others and wanted to do a lot of things with others. But, as the time goes by I felt the distance and couldn’t make any friend. If you are a rookie, I recommend you to make many friends as possible. You have a nickname as General Sull. That’s right. Do you like that nickname? When I first heard your nickname I felt the nickname does not match your appearance. I guess it is because of my personality.
