ジョン・ボン・ジョヴィ(ボーカル、ギター)、リッチー・サンボラ(ギター)、アレック・ジョン・サッチ(ベース)、ティコ・トーレス(ドラムス)、デヴィッド・ラッシュバウム(キーボード)の5名で1984年にデビューしたボン・ジョヴィ。
デビュー以来、「Livin’ On A Prayer」、「It’s My Life」をはじめとした数々のヒット曲を世に送り出し、これまでの全世界売り上げ1億3千万枚超え、2018年には「ロックの殿堂入り」を果たすなどの功績を残してきた。
2024年にデビュー40周年を迎えるロックバンド界の生きる伝説は、現在も最前線を走り続けている。

そんなボン・ジョヴィ初の公式ドキュメンタリーの本作は、ボン・ジョヴィの現メンバーはもちろん、そして過去のメンバーから全面的な協力を得て製作され、彼らの栄光だけでなくこれまで明かされなかった挫折についても描かれる作品となっている。
売上世界一を記録し、世界的大ブレイクを果たす一方、その裏側では世間の大きすぎる期待へのプレッシャー、世界ツアーの疲労によるバンド内の不和で解散危機を迎えていた。
そして、バンドに決定的な打撃を与えたギター リッチー・サンボラの脱退。
さらに、ボーカルを務めるジョン・ボン・ジョヴィが声帯の不調により喉の手術を行うなど、数えきれないほどの苦難を乗り越えてきた彼らのありのままの姿が映し出される。
また、ボン・ジョヴィは世界的スターに駆け上がる前のデビュー直後に日本でのライブを行い熱烈な声援に感激し、その後は100回を超える来日公演の実施、童謡「さくら」を引用した「Tokyo Road」を製作するなど、日本との強いつながりがあることでも知られている。
彼らの日本とのつながりについても描かれるのかも注目だ。
