都是這裏的时钟酒店 is also one of the hourly hotels here 但因为我那时完全不知道 But at that time, I had no idea 我觉得 I thought 见到都OK seeing it was okay 床OK The bed is okay 位置又OK The location is also okay 又不是很贵 And it’s not too expensive 那時就和家人 So, I booked it with my family 訂了這裏 booked this place

但是來到才发觉 But upon arrival, I realized 原来应该是一些时钟酒店 that it should be one of those hourly hotels 不過我這幾晚 But for these few nights 所以現在 So now 我才想起 I just remembered 為甚麼我check in的时候 why, during check-in reception的姐姐 the receptionist asked me 她問我 she asked me 是否要一间房 if I wanted a double room

两张细床 or a room with two single beds 因为我和其他人一齐 since I was with other people 所以分开两张床是正常 so having separate beds is normal 我就說要twin room I said I wanted a twin room 所以現在才想起 So, now I just remembered 問twin room的原因 the reason for asking about the twin room 可能有其他原因 might have other implications

所以才問我是否要twin room So, she asked if I wanted a twin room 所以正常的话 Normally 可能大家会用double room people might choose a double room 即是大床房 which is a room with a big bed 現在想起才知 I just realized now 原来 that 嗯 uh 可能有其他暗示 there might be other implications 想起來挺特別 it’s quite interesting to think about

我们现在 Now, we are 再走走看看这个红灯区 taking another stroll through this red-light district 为什么我说 Why do I say 新加坡这个红灯区 Singapore’s red-light district Geylang比较特别 Geylang is quite unique 因为它是 Because it is 真的合法 truly legal 它由政府监管 It is regulated by the government 发营业牌照 with operating licenses issued 不像其他地方 Unlike other places

可能一些灰色地带 which may be in a gray area 或者未必一定合法 or not necessarily legal 除此之外 Besides 其实在这里 In fact, here 最主要的区域 the main area 就在这里 is right here 所以在这三条巷 So, in these three lanes 见得比较多这类型的店铺 you’ll see more of these types of shops 其实你见到 Actually, when you see 晚上这些铺 these shops at night

五光十色 brightly lit and colorful 就见到 you’ll see 这些铺 these shops 就是我们所讲一些 are what we call 红灯区的铺 shops in the red-light district 我觉得最特别 I find it most unique 我没有想过新加坡政府 I never thought that the Singaporean government 为了这个行业 for this industry 有一个特别Visa would have a special visa 给这些性工作者 for these sex workers

所叫的黄卡 It’s called the “Yellow Card” 黄卡这个又很特别 The “Yellow Card” is quite special 我网上再看 As I checked online 它有些要求 It has some requirements 第一 Firstly, 你要21到35岁 you must be between 21 and 35 years old 不可以是穆斯林 and cannot be a Muslim 这个签证 This visa 只可以做两年 is valid for only two years

但是这两年都挺特别 But these two years are quite unique 这两年 During these two years 不会一开始 It doesn’t start 就批两年 with a two-year approval 而是它一开始 Instead, it initially 可能批你一个月 may be approved for one month 之后OK没有问题 Afterward, if everything is okay 有人问你OK吗 and you’re comfortable 这里从事性工作 with this line of work OK吗 Are you okay?

如果你OK If you are okay 可能再续 it may be extended 可能续两个月 for another two months 两个月之后 After two months 发觉都OK if everything is still okay 或者你没有任何的违规 or if you have not violated any rules 它又会再续 it can be extended again 可能4个月 8个月 perhaps for 4 or 8 months 慢慢增加 slowly increasing

最多总共续两年 A maximum total extension of two years 所以我觉得 So, I find it 挺特别 quite unique 我都是第一次 It’s my first time 听到有这些签证 hearing about such visas 除此之外 Apart from this 它真的有一些 There are also 好像叫扫黄组的工作人员 workers in a sort of vice squad 负责问这些性工作者 who are responsible for interviewing sex workers

问他们习不习惯 asking if they are comfortable 或者你的雇主 or if their employers 有没有剥削你 are exploiting them 有没有虐待你 Have you been abused? 或者會不會 Or maybe 接受不到做這種工作 Cannot cope with this kind of work? 可以随时 You can leave anytime 回去自己国家 And go back to your own country 這個都挺人性化 This is quite humane 我沒有想到 I never expected

這個行业 This industry 都有這麼特别的措施 To have such special measures 如果你真的從事 If you are really engaged 在新加坡這裏 In Singapore here 最多只可以留2年 You can only stay for a maximum of 2 years 两年之后 After two years 签证不可以再续签 Visa cannot be renewed 而且你都不可以再回到新加坡 And you cannot return to Singapore 非常有监管和规管 Very regulated and controlled

我真的沒有想过 I really never thought 我网上找這些资料的时候 When I was looking for information online 才發覺這樣 That’s when I discovered this 你见到她們 When you see them 最主要來自越南 Mainly from Vietnam 泰国和中国 Thailand and China 我听人讲 I’ve heard people say 網上看到的影片 And seen videos online 看些资料 Read some information 如果是泰国越南 If it’s Thailand or Vietnam

價錢較便宜 Prices are cheaper 但如果是中国 But if it’s China 价钱就会貴一點 Prices are a bit higher 监管做得好的原因 The reason for good regulation 因为這裏 Is because here 姐姐她們提供這些服务的时候 When sisters provide these services 它都会监管 It’s all regulated 這些性工作者 Sex workers 每两个星期 Every two weeks 要做一次健康检查 Have to undergo health checks 确保她們健康 To ensure their health
