【飛行機搭乗記】大韓航空ビジネスクラスで東京(羽田)ーソウル(金浦)往復弾丸旅 ソウルの街や鉄道・空港・空港ラウンジなど詳細レポ 【番外編・JGC修行】

This is an extra edition brought to you by Monjiro. I am at Haneda Airport Terminal 3. We will provide you with a round-trip boarding report and short stay report for Korean Air’s business class flight between Haneda and Gimpo. Just like the previous India edition, this is a round trip for so-called JGC training.

I plan to go to the Sakura Lounge on the 4th floor until boarding time. Korean Air is SkyTeam, but since it is a codeshare flight between Korean Air and JAL, you can also use JAL’s lounge. Sakura Lounge has just been renovated. Breakfast time has just finished.

The morning order menu has ended and the regular buffet has been lined up. There are a lot of breads and hot menu items, and you can heat the bread in a toaster. There are also delicious-looking gyudon ingredients. As expected from Sakura Lounge.

In the morning, I mainly have tomato juice and vegetables for a refreshing meal. The quality is high, with the freshness of the lettuce and the crunch of the corn. The drink bar had a very rich lineup, including a dedicated wine server and spirits such as Cinzano and Campari.

Cava and Chardonnay are served chilled, and there are also wines you won’t find in other lounges, such as Tanqueray and Ballantine. It’s relatively empty after the morning peak. The large windows make it bright and the space is very calming, with lots of wood used.

I head to the gate. This is my first time flying on Korean Air, so I’m looking forward to seeing what the business class is like. The light blue aircraft that we are about to board is parked. In the back you can see an ANA plane with Pikachu painted on it.

Since I am flying business class, I head to the plane through the priority boarding gate. It takes about 2 and a half hours from Haneda Airport to Gimpo Airport. I’ll board. This is a Korean Air Prestige Suite seat. The whole thing looks like this. It has a beautiful blue color.

It is a separate private room where you can come and go without worrying about your neighbors. It’s a window seat, with three windows lined up in one seat. The storage space is located under the 17-inch monitor across from you, giving you plenty of space.

A carefully packaged blanket. You can see the Korean Air embroidery. In-flight slippers. The headphones have a noise canceling function. This is the brunch menu. Since it’s a Korean airline, the main dish is octopus bibimbap. Even in the skies, Korean Air doesn’t forget about chili peppers.

This time it was a lunch flight, so I chose from the lunch menu. You can also choose from a Korean menu. The alcohol menu has a unique lineup including port wine, Remy Martin, and Glenfiddich.

Security video has started. In typical Korean fashion, an idol appeared. According to Lily, it’s a group called “super M.” It was a unique security video that also featured cute characters. Taxiing started from pushback. The weather is nice and I feel good.

Take off towards Seoul through the cloudless sky. The sea is also blue and vividly visible. Turn sharply to the right while looking down at Sanbanze. I see a very large ship. The plane gains altitude while overlooking the Kanto Plain.

About 30 minutes later, the lunch I ordered arrived. This time I ordered a Western menu. Tender chicken with red wine sauce. Garlic-flavored gratin goes well with red wine. A salad with fragrant walnuts and a fun texture. Bread flavored with olives. Salt and pepper are also provided, and the butter is from France’s Lescure.

I ordered Chateaubenay from Bordeaux. A red wine with a fresh aroma, a heavy body, and a solid aftertaste. Finish with fresh fruit and Earl Grey. Thank you for the meal. Let’s take a look at the in-flight entertainment remote control. Korea is a country of entertainment. There is a program of Korean movies and

Korean artists. There are also items for kids and games. If you press the service information button, you can also check the terminal map. A map of the destination, Gimpo Airport, was displayed.

As I was leisurely eating my meal, I saw Seoul on the flight map. You will arrive on a shorter flight than Okinawa. Unfortunately, it was raining in Seoul, but there was almost no shaking. Many buildings can be seen below.

Lower altitude and prepare for landing. You can clearly see the situation on the ground. Landing across the river. It was a comfortable 2 and a half hour flight.

This time, I will stay in Seoul for one night and return to Tokyo Haneda the next day. I would like to take this opportunity to walk around the city. Cross the boarding bridge and head into the airport.

Currently, you can enter South Korea without a visa or K-ETA, but you will be given an immigration card on the plane, so it’s a good idea to bring a pen with you. We were greeted by K-POP idols and headed to immigration.

This is what the baggage claim area looks like. It’s small, with three turntables. Collect your luggage and exit the arrival gate. Go down and head towards the airport line. Take the “A’REX” train that connects to Seoul Station and Incheon Airport.

Although it is a long way to A’REX station, there is a guide and a moving walkway, so you can reach the station in about 5 minutes. Along the way, there was a “WOW PASS” vending machine. A convenient card that combines the functions of a transportation card and a debit card.

I saw a signboard for “LOTTE MALL” so I thought I’d stop by. If you are heading from the airport to the station, the entrance to LOTTE MALL will be on your left. This is a shopping mall directly connected to the airport, and you can leave your luggage there for free.

On this floor, when you enter and head to the back left, you will find the information center. This counter is located about 2 minutes from the entrance. During business hours of this mall, you can leave suitcases only.

Now that I’m lighter and have left my luggage behind, I’ll mainly introduce restaurants. There are Korean, Asian, and American dishes, as well as a supermarket. This floor has a very large food area. “Din Tai Fung” is a famous xiao long bao restaurant. This is a Vietnamese restaurant. There was pho etc.

There is also a 7-Eleven, so you can do some shopping. American pizza chain “California Pizza Kitchen” egg sandwich shop, Mexican restaurant. Of course, there are also many Korean restaurants. This is a restaurant where you can eat a variety of dishes.

There is a food area that even people who are not into spicy food can enjoy, which is very convenient before and after the flight. The inside of the mall is heated and comfortable. It was close to Christmas so there was a big tree. Next, let’s take a look at the supermarket.

Although it is directly connected to the airport, it is crowded with locals. I feel like I can see the real Korea. Familiar vegetables and vegetables that are not seen in Japan. Korean seaweed and dried fish from various manufacturers. Sushi, Korean beef. There are many types of instant ramen, including Shin ramen.

Korean soju and beer. There are so many different kinds of food that you don’t even have to buy souvenirs in Seoul.

On the upper floor, there are foreign brand cosmetics, fashion, furniture, and home electronics stores, making it a very convenient place to buy cold weather clothes and makeup products after arriving at the airport. Head to A’REX station on the Airport Line. I would like to obtain a “T-MONEY” transportation card.

There are about 3 convenience stores in front of the ticket gate of “A’REX”, which is convenient because you can get a T-MONEY card and charge it there.

There are several designs to choose from, and I chose the T-MONEY card with a Hanbok design. The fare to Seoul Station is ₩1,550. For now, I charged ₩10,000. The ticket gates are clean and have the same impression as in Japan. There are color-coded guide signs inside the station, so you won’t get lost.

The blue train and airplane mark is the Airport Line (A’REX). There are other subway lines as well. This is a convenient airport with direct access to the Gangnam region via subway line 9 and Dongdaemun, etc. via subway line 5.

Those heading to Seoul Station should head to the B3 floor, and those heading to Incheon Airport should head to B4. It is displayed very clearly. Since I am heading to Seoul Station, I will wait for the train on the platform on the B3 floor.

The train has arrived. It’s not the first train, so there seem to be a lot of people on board. The information on the train is also in Japanese, and it takes about 25 minutes to reach Seoul Station from the airport in 5 stations.

The train will arrive on the 7th basement floor, so we will aim for the upper floor. Once you reach the third basement floor, you can pass through the ticket gate and transfer to the subway. After climbing up a very long escalator, we arrived at the main hall of Seoul Station.

Head to the entrance on the front side of the station, opposite the main hall. The room is modern, with white as the base color and high ceilings. It got dark while I was strolling around Lotte Mart, but it seemed like the rain had stopped. This is an overview of Seoul Station.

This time, we will be staying at the Four Points by Sheraton, which is directly connected to the station underground. After checking in, I would like to go see the night view.

It’s about a 5 minute walk south of the Myeongdong intersection. We will now head to “N Seoul Tower”. First, take the free lift and then take the Namsan Cable Car to the top of the mountain. What came into view was the free lift platform. The Namsan Cable Car station can be seen above.

It’s like an elevator, where you press a button and an unmanned lift comes to you. If you go up on foot, there is a 200m walkway. The lift has arrived. It’s a cute vehicle. The door opened. It’s a size that can accommodate about 10 people.

It will rise slowly. It takes about 2 minutes. When you get off the lift, you will see a large parking lot and turn left to see the ticket office. Although it was a very cold day, the parking lot seemed to be about 80% full.

Buying one-way tickets can be expensive, so we recommend buying round-trip tickets. It’s a paper ticket. Continue inside through the entrance on the left. This is what it looks like inside. There are toilets, coin lockers, ATMs, and a shop on this floor, and you can go up from the back.

Let’s head to the cable car platform on the 3rd floor. An elevator is also available. When I went up to the third floor, the cable car had just arrived. It is entirely made of glass. It was about 10pm now, and a lot of people were coming down.

Get on board and take up a position where you can see the city. As soon as I started moving, a beautiful night view appeared in front of me. The bright spot in the middle is Myeong-dong. Now that the weather has improved, it looks like we can enjoy a beautiful night view.

The cable car station became smaller and we reached a much higher place. The height of the summit of Namsan is 243 meters. I passed by the gondola going down. The exterior is decorated with lights. It takes about 5 minutes to reach the top station and head up the stairs to the tower.

In about a minute you will arrive at a large square with a tower. Today it is lit up in pink. We have reached the top. A large tower is rising. The height is 236.7m and it was built as a comprehensive radio tower.

The gazebo in the foreground is also lit up and looks very beautiful. There is a large plaza next to the tower, where many people come to enjoy the night view. At the base of the tower, there is a ticket office, convenience store, and souvenir shop.

The rooftop of the ticket office has become a sacred place for lovers. Looks like I’ll buy a padlock and hang it here. The tip is an observation deck with binoculars installed. let’s go. A night view of Itaewon. You can enjoy such a beautiful night view without having to climb the tower.

You can see the city of Seoul far into the distance. On the other side of the plaza, there is also a space where you can relax and enjoy the night view. Although it’s a bit cold, everyone is chatting leisurely while looking at the night view of Dongdaemun.

Since Namsan is located in the city, the night view is close up, making for a mysterious view. There is a bench in the gazebo where you can sit down. It is beautifully decorated and beautifully lit.

I went down by cable car. On the way back, I would like to take the footpath to the bottom instead of using the lift. It is a boardwalk, and there are photo spots along the way. Another cute lift went up.

On the way back to Seoul Station, I got hungry, so I took a detour. I can’t read Hangul, but I guess it’s a set meal restaurant open 24 hours. This store is about a 10-minute walk from the Myeong-dong intersection toward Seoul Station.

There is also a Japanese menu. It’s cold, so I’m going to eat seolleongtang. It’s past 11pm, so the store is empty. I take a seat and order seolleongtang. A piping hot seolleongtang soon appeared. I also received rice. The pleasant aroma of beef bones and the refreshing and gentle soup permeate your chilled body.

Now that I’m warmed up, I head back to the hotel and rest. good night. good morning. The weather is not so good, but we will leave in good spirits. It’s past 11am now. Since it’s not raining, I walk on the ground to Seoul Station.

There are two crosswalks in Seoul, one for each direction of travel. Although it is about 30 meters from the station, it retains the old-town feel and offers a pleasant view. About 5 minutes from the hotel, you can see Seoul Station.

At the end of Seoul Station, there is an old station building that remains, so let’s go take a look. As you walk straight in front of the station, you will see a brick dome roof. An elegant design with straight lines and large arcs.

On the right side of this station building, there is a platform for conventional lines. The front also has a very impressive curved design. It has now finished its role as a station building and has been renovated as a cultural exchange facility. Old and new Seoul stations are lined up.

This is a commemorative plate for the 100th anniversary of Seoul Railway. I’m going to buy sweets as a souvenir for Lily. I returned to the plaza in front of Seoul Station that goes underground. I thought I was going to buy some sandwiches from “BRICKSAND SEOUL” right next door, but

The store was undergoing renovations. I give up and have lunch. It’s raining, so I’m going to a shopping mall that is directly connected to the station. I’m thinking of trying this shop. It has a nice retro atmosphere. It has good reviews on Google, so I decided to give it a try.

It looks like a stylish Korean cafe. There are bulgogi bowls and one plate rice dishes. Go inside the shop. A stylish cafe with a nostalgic atmosphere. There are many menu items such as curry and fried foods, and Japanese is also available.

Since I haven’t had my fill of Korean beef yet, I decided on the galbi bowl. The spicy meat bowl was stopped by a staff member who thought it was too spicy. Kalbi rice bowl topped with a soft-boiled egg has arrived. It also came with sauce, pickles, and soup.

It has a bright, sweet and salty taste that is addictive. The chewy beef will make your meal more enjoyable. It’s hard to convey in the video, but it’s so big that even men can’t finish it. I’m heading to the airport early. This is the entrance for people heading to the airport.

Walk along the station concourse to the other side. There is a line drawn on the floor indicating the airport line, so it is easy to understand. We arrived. It is also written in Japanese.

If you are heading to Incheon Airport, turn left here and board the express train. If you are flying from Incheon on a major Korean airline, you can also check-in at this station. If you are heading to Gimpo Airport, follow the signs for All stop train and go down one more floor.

I passed through the ticket gate and arrived at the platform. The train had arrived, so I just boarded it. It’s about 5 minutes from the front of the station. We arrived at Gimpo Airport in about 25 minutes.

You can travel between Seoul Station and Gimpo Airport without ever leaving the ground, so you don’t have to worry about bad weather. Along the way, you can transfer to the subway or suburban line on the B2 floor. Exit the ticket gate and head to the airport.

I still have about half of the charged amount left. There are cafes, general stores, convenience stores, and ATMs along the way, so even if the airport is crowded, you can still run your errands in this underground passage. I went up to the departure floor of the airport.

The floor is bright and beautiful. There is a cafe stand, money exchange office, tapioca shop, etc. on this floor, and there is also a smoking area outside. Airport information display. Korean Air check-in has begun. Leave your luggage and complete check-in.

Since I am flying business class on my way back, I will use the “SKY PRIORITY” lane. I also received a pass to KAL LOUNGE. I would like to stop by.

After dropping off your luggage at the counter, your luggage will be checked, and if your number is displayed on this monitor, you will be called to check your luggage. There were no calls, so it seems like there is no problem. From here, head to the upper floor and undergo a security check.

When you go up, you can see a shop above the security checkpoint. There seems to be a shop behind the departure gate, so let’s take a look. There is a pharmacy and a convenience store at the bottom of the escalator, and

There seems to be a restaurant at the top, so I will introduce them to you. When you go up, you will see a Korean restaurant in front and a food court on the left. There is also information in Japanese, so it seems easy to use. We also sell local sweets and souvenirs.

There is a souvenir shop counter on the right side of the food court. There is a food court entrance ahead, and looking at the entrance map, it looks like you can eat Korean food and sweets. There are three order machines on the wall. Payment is by credit card only.

It’s spacious and clean, so I think it’s a good place to visit the airport as your destination. There is a restaurant next to the elevator where you can eat authentic Korean food such as abalone porridge and samgyetang. After passing through security and immigration, we entered the restricted area.

There are duty-free shops and card lounges within the restricted area, and you can also see the greenery. We will take a break at “KAL LOUNGE”. There are lounges for Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.

Go up to the 4th floor and at the end is KAL LOUNGE, which I used this time. There is also an Asiana Airlines lounge on the left. The lounge is beyond the frosted glass. It’s like a secret base for adults.

There is a counter in front of you, and you enter the lounge by swiping your lounge ticket. There are many people in the lounge. It’s evening so it seems to be a busy time. I’d like to stop by the card lounge after this, so I’ll have a little something.

The cuisine is mainly international. I would like to have some white wine and move to the card lounge. You can enter here with the “SKY HUB LOUNGE” priority pass, which can be seen on the left immediately after passing through immigration.

I’m thinking of stopping by here as well. The seats are about half full. A bright rectangular lounge. There are many Japanese people here as well. There is a buffet counter in the back. What kind of things are there?

First of all, there is the alcoholic drinks corner. Wine and whiskey are available. The whiskey lineup is unique. There are also cereals, breads, hot sandwiches, and muffins, so it’s very fulfilling. Salad and fruit corner. Having fruit at the card lounge is valuable. In the hot meal corner, there are pilaf,

Meatballs and vegetable ragu sauce. Fried gyoza with sweet and spicy seasoning. Hash brown potatoes and sweet and spicy sauce. Bibimbap allows you to make your own bibimbap. There are two types of rice and soup for bibimbap. Banana chips and my favorite pretzels.

When you think of Korea, you think of spicy ramen. The lid is open so that even women can easily open it. Non-spicy items and cup noodles for children are also available. Meatballs and fried dumplings. It’s nice to have a variety of flavors to choose from.

It’s not too spicy and has a taste that people all over the world can enjoy. I also received my favorite pretzels and olives. Thank you for the meal. There is also a massage chair in the lounge, and a business center with a conference room next to it.

This was an introduction to “SKY HUB LOUNGE”. When the time came, we started boarding at gate 37. The flight between Gimpo Airport and Haneda Airport is approximately 2 hours. The gate is now open, so I get priority boarding. About 15 people got priority boarding. The weather in Seoul is prone to change.

A spacious boarding bridge with beautiful glass walls. Korean Air’s business class is called Prestige Class. Airbus A330. This model is not used by Japanese airlines. I asked the CA to check my ticket and headed to my seat. This time I also reserved a seat by the window.

I will introduce the whole thing again. The space is enough to use three windows. Of course it will be completely flat. There is plenty of room for the monitor. It is long enough to become a 190cm flat bed.

There is a universal power supply, so you won’t have any problems working on your computer. big cushion Headphones with noise canceling function. The feeling of freedom when changing into slippers is important. The seat can be adjusted using the scene-specific buttons and fine adjustment buttons. A table will come out from the front side.

We grabbed water and our favorite pretzels and waited for takeoff. The safety video I introduced earlier has begun. You can also see the image from the camera at the front of the aircraft. Looks like it’s ready for takeoff. The weather is not good, so tremors are expected.

From pushback to taxiing. There are many raindrops on the window. Head to the takeoff point. I accelerated and took off into the rainy sky of Seoul. It rises into the silver clouds. In the hazy vision, the city below becomes smaller.

Let’s take a look at the food menu. The menu has a calm green design. The alcohol menu is the same as before. Is “KAL’s Lagar” an original beer? Click here for the meal menu. Since this is an evening flight, a light meal will be provided. I’d like some Korean food, please.

As for drinks, I think I’ll try an ale from Jeju Island to go with Korean food. Octopus bibimbap has arrived. It also comes with Korean seaweed and kimchi. The spicy seasoned octopus has a nice texture, and the Korean seaweed is also fragrant.

JEJU PELLONG ALE. It has a strong bitter taste and a sweet aroma that passes through your nose. Although it is shaken, beef soup has also appeared. It has a light and refreshing taste. By the time we finished eating, we were almost over Tottori Prefecture.

After the meal, fruits and green tea appeared. Thank you for the meal. There is plenty of legroom and comfort even if you don’t lay it completely flat. As I was doing so, I noticed the guide lights of Haneda Airport on the camera in front of me.

In business class, I arrived while I was having a leisurely meal, so I had a very comfortable time. This concludes the training journey. Thank you for watching until the end.

This time, I flew business class on JAL and Korean Air back to back, and it was interesting to see the unique characteristics of each airline. In 2024, I will enjoy traveling even more while using JGC and SFC. That’s it for Monjiro.
