　　1954年（昭29）の初代「ゴジラ」（本多猪四郎監督）の公開日と同日の23年11月3日「ゴジラの日」の封切りから、前日11日までの70日間の国内での興行収入（興収）52億1000万円、観客動員339万人を突破したと発表された。また、同12月1日から邦画実写史上最大規模となる2308館で公開した北米でも、10日までの41日間で興収4974万ドル（約728億円）を突破し、アニメを含めた日本映画の興収で歴代2位となった。さらに、日本を除いた世界興収も6110万ドル（約88億円）に上り、全世界興収も140億円を突破した。
【ゴジラの歴史】
「ゴジラ」は製作・配給の東宝が1954年（昭29）11月3日公開の「ゴジラ」（本多猪四郎監督）から「ゴジラ－1.0」まで30作を製作、配給してきた。神木が戦争から荒廃した日本に生還も両親を失った敷島浩一を、浜辺が焼け野原の戦後日本を単身で強く生き、戦争帰りの敷島と出会う大石典子を演じた。敷島はゼロ戦の操縦士で、機体に不備があると偽り特攻を回避した島が、ゴジラに襲われながらも生き残る。悔恨の念を抱き帰京すると、他人に赤ん坊を託され身寄りもない典子が自宅に押しかけ、血縁がないながらも、ようやく生き直そうとしている中で東京に上陸したゴジラに典子が襲われ、最終的にゴジラ討伐作戦に参加する。

■山崎監督の問いかけに一瞬無言に
ほか、渡米中の山崎監督がリモートで登場。山崎監督から「(続編があるとするなら)また海(でのロケに)行きます？」と聞かれると、神木らは一瞬無言になり「(海は)確実に迫力はありましたけどね。でも、スタジオで撮ったらどういうふうに撮れるのか…」と歯切れの悪い反応を見せ、会場を沸かせた。

【モノクロ版「ゴジラ－1.0」、アメリカでも上映決定】
「ゴジラ－1.0」が大ヒットを記録したアメリカで、日本でも話題を呼んだモノクロ版「ゴジラ－1.0／C」が上映されることが明らかになった。
　メガホンをとった山崎貴監督は、「アメリカでのカラー版の成功に続き、モノクロ版を上映できることを大変嬉しく思います。モノクロでの表現は、映画のリアリズムと恐怖をさらに際立たせ、観客に新たな体験を提供します」とコメントを寄せている。
　「ゴジラ－1.0」は全米で12月1日に封切られ、日本映画として1位となる全米興収5100万ドルに到達。非英語映画としても歴代5位の快挙だ。アカデミー賞視覚効果賞の最終候補にも残っており、ノミネートへの期待が寄せられている。

【震電】震電（しんでん）は、第二次世界大戦末期に日本海軍が試作した局地戦闘機。前翼型の独特な機体形状を持つ、そのため「異端の翼」と呼ばれました。最高速度400ノット（約740km/h）以上の高速戦闘機の計画で、1945年（昭和20年）6月に試作機が完成、同年8月に試験飛行を行い終戦。略符号はJ7W1。
