I was like a little cynical about this movie when it was first announced. Like this must just
be some thing to to to make fun of K-pop or something. Yeah. Or or get like some gimmicky
kind of movie about it. But that was really uh creative, exciting and and stories about
identity and acceptance and embracing one’s own shame and darkness. Uh those really get
to me. I thought that was beautiful with like amazing songs. We have a lot of questions which
I’m sure a lot of what we’ll say will probably be a part of what we would do in a review. So,
I want to get to them right away. Do you want to give like some 30 second quick thoughts before
we I mean, you guys can see I loved it. I I was singing to that last song like almost every lyric
because that’s how catchy it is. So talented. Great freaking writing. Not surprised they have
five writers on it. The the pacing and the tone of the comedy was perfectly injected with um the
heart and the emotions especially between Roomie and Gu and then all of them together. I mean, this
just had heart and talent and it’s everything I wanted. Yeah. All right. Um, yeah, we only got a
limited time, so let’s uh let’s get to it. Igna, our first one here. Uh, oh my god, I was waiting
for this reaction because I knew you were going to love it. Thank you. So, here’s my question to
Greg. What are your thoughts about the original music and the score? And Terra, which of these
three amazing characters is your favorite? So, just for visual reference, that one is name.
She is just so dead pan and over it. I love her. Mera is my favorite. I mean, Room is
the one you identify the most with, but in terms of like just a character who just every
time they’re on screen, I loved so much. Mera, yeah, her comedy delivery was beyond excellent.
Um, but no, we can share this about the original music and the score. Um, that’s really cool
that it’s original music. Yeah, first off, uh, I I love a song. I I love the fact of how it
blended both worlds uh so well where it didn’t feel like the demon world was an afterthought
or the music was an afterthought. It never felt like they were trying to force anything in there.
There was such a great harmony and synergy between both of the worlds and how they’d also played
on how like you know awards ceremonies go and social media life goes. So to have this infusion
of the original music and score, which just is a great way to get you more interested in more K-pop
music first off, and how they had all versions, right? They had like the fun ones, the cool ones,
the heartfelt ones, and each one, even when it was just a performance. Oftentimes with musicals, a
criticism is they’re taking a break to do a song, but it’s not really driving the narrative
forward. Even when it was just like them doing a music video or some type of performance
on stage, it was still driving the plot forward. Y um and it is a great original score or music when
you’re able to do something where you’re going, was this an album first and then they did this,
but then when you’re listening to it, you’re like, I want the album, you know? So, it’s it’s a very
very effective. So, uh what what do you think? I agree. I think when we when we first hear that
song, are you ready for the takedown? It’s such smart writing because when um when Mida and Zoe
turn into demons, it those lyrics fit perfectly. Are you ready for the takedown of Roomie and it’s
just that like basically what you were saying, everything mel like melds together so well that
obviously they took their time with this score and the storyboarding and making sure that the
story fit in perfectly and I just I adore all of it. I can’t wait to get in my car and just
listen to the score. Yeah, that’s how I feel. Fly Panam rumors that one of the reasons Beyond
the Spider-Verse was delayed. It’s the third movie in the Spider-Verse that hasn’t come out yet was
delayed so much was because of the production of the movie. Oh. Among other reasons. I’m honestly
not sure if there’s any merit to that, but if it’s true, do you think it was worth pushing back
Spiderverse 3 for an original IP like this? Um, yes, I do. I do. Um, and I’m so surprised
that this does not have a theatrical release, especially because Sony’s behind it. Yeah. that
this is the kind of movie that I bet if they do decide to put it out in theaters, even though
it was just for Netflix, I’m sure those theaters will fill up. Undoubtedly, I think Netflix would
make a really smart call. And I think like limited release because I would go, wouldn’t you go again
in a theater? You want to be with a crowd. That would be so fun with the singalong and stuff.
Totally. And this is the kind of movie that um I think Netflix might underestimate as hey
this is uh not one we would push for animation awards but with the sensation that this is and how
effective it is. I think when you first hear the pitch you’re like you might disregard or roll
your eyes at it. But this is one that I could actually see winning some like awards. Absolutely.
Real real awards. This should not be ignored in that scene because if it is I’ll be pissed. No.
Cata the cat. Uh what’s your guys’ favorite song from the movie? Oo. Um I really like Are you ready
for the take down? But I think the last song where it’s like uh have you heard my voice? This is
what it sounds like. That song. God. Yeah. Uh that was the one that was bringing me to tears. That
crescendo song. Yeah. It’s so good of her five. So true. It’s like you know that’s part of the
arc that’s coming. Like you you know it’s going to happen but you kind of want that. He’s just
like he just wanted it to happen anyway. Yeah. And when it does get to that point in the story,
Yeah. I was surprised because at first I’m like, “Okay, it’s got to be Golden.” Like Golden is
the song that had showed up on my Spotify and I hit like added to my workout playlist. Yeah. And
I didn’t I had no idea it was from this movie. And and so I that’s probably like my favorite one
that I will just keep listening to over and over again. Takeown perhaps as well. Golden is one that
sounds like it as as it is in my personal life, one that you don’t need any reference for the
movie. And a lot of them actually don’t. That’s that’s another thing too. You don’t need the
reference for the movie for most of these. No. I really love the one when her and blanking on his
name already. What was the main guy? G when her and G when they first sing together. Yeah. Yeah.
And the when they are the harmony. They’re talking about the the opposing sides within themselves,
but then how they are find and they’re slowly learning the acceptance and then maybe they can
uh this confiding in each other can bring it out of them. But that last song is very powerful,
especially when GU I thought GU would they would have that that took me by surprise. I thought GU
would not die. I thought he would might like be set free or something. So I appreciate that they
actually took the element to show that he was a human who made a mistake. a very dire one, but
he still changed even in the afterlife of all this and was still able to come back from it. And
I love the parallel shots of him like looking down at his sister and mom and then now looking down
at her and helping her be free and from going into dart now going into light. Uh it was a it
was a really good bookend for that character’s journey. I think so because I think now he could
leave with a sense of happiness of like it’s not like he’s making up for it but in his own way
that’s what he was trying to do because he is not forever that person who left his family behind.
He is now going to fight to be like I would not do that. I am now the protector. Yeah. Yeah. Jay
Rushton. Okay. Do you want to see the future movie with men? It would make BTS fans very excited.
This is a great franchise opportunity to get more K-pop band. I I feel like, you know, with
the K-pop’s already such a sensation. Totally. And the the if you if they were to just do
sequels where they get new bands in there, oh god, I would die. They used twice. Yeah. So
good. I think more bands are going to want to be involved and then it’s just going to elevate their
fame, their exposure, uh their audience. This is a franchise that truly could take K. It’s It’s so
strange. It’s K-pop. It’s already huge. But then to do this movie medium where I’m hearing like
families of all kinds are watching this and people like me who don’t really follow I don’t follow
K-pop. I love this movie and I’d be excited at a sequel. So then it would introduce me more and
then I’m like I want to listen to more K-pop now. So if it’s already doing that feeling for me now I
I this is a this is an op a prime opera. one movie franchise is a prime opportunity. I agree. And I
put my faith in the director and the producer and the writers and casting that they will have
the best bands and singers that will liter. I mean these songs were phenomenal. Their voices
were phenomenal and it wasn’t just pop and good singing. They also had, like you said, it’s sort
of like that love like romantic song between the two, but also like rap in there with like great
beats. I mean, yes, put whoever you want because I put my faith in the people who made this
that they will cast the right people for the job. Absolutely. Dwood, my daughter got me into
the K-pop world a few years ago and I haven’t looked back ever since. Music is way better than I
thought when thinking K-pop and a lot of variety. That’s exactly how I feel coming out of this. Uh,
what other genre of music do you think could work and maybe would be the concept? It’s already kind
of like poppy, you know, and it has like rap in there, so I’m not sure it I mean, more rock could
be fun. Like a rock with really good uh singers. That could be a lot of fun. Like when this when
the story started, I’ve I’m sure they’ve done it before already, but the plot idea I feel like a
lot of I feel like a lot of writers and everyone have come up with the idea of like where there was
a band, but they were really like superheroes or they’re really action heroes or something. Maybe
they’ve already done it. I’m just not recalling. But when they started off with that as that what
if plot I didn’t realize this what we were walking into um that they were already established band
and they were going to be find demon hunters because the world they created with this was
so clever of having the supernatural element they actually lean into the horror of the demonic
elements too. There’s a lore there’s a whole world um established and that you could do it where
you’re going more international or you’re going to like American side. I think it’d be smart to
kind of keep it in the K-pop world for a while, but if you really wanted to do some spin-off that
like the American version Mhm. I’m going to go for a major swing here. A major major swing.
Rock bands aren’t really around right now, but Stage Coach is so popular now. Oh, I would
love country. Folk, Americana because Stage Coach is now they have like rappers showing up. They
got all different kinds of people showing up now. It has expanded and it is be it’s slowly
overtaking Coachella. Oh, and I didn’t know that. And so the way how like country I I growing
up I would hear for so long people be like I like all music but I really don’t like country. That’s
what I hear all the time. And now there’s kind of this like turn on country and I’ve even started
listening to country which I never did. So even now I’ve been listening to it more and I I think
it could have a similar effect where you know you’re like I don’t like country. I don’t want
to listen to this. But if they could pull it off, right, then you be like, you know what, I might
like more country or they’re like more blueg grass country. There’s like dark country that I’m really
into. Bluegrass is more my flavor. Um, so yeah, I think country would be like a cool world to
explore. I think that would be great. My casting choices would be put Miranda Lambert, Noah Khan,
Folk Americana, and Zack Brown Band because they come in with the harmonies. All of them. You got

we did not explore. You’re right about that. And then maybe perhaps linked to Gimma. how I mean
part of the the intrigue of Gimma is we don’t really know everything about how we came to be or
it came to be right but you know a little bit of lore exploration I think would wouldn’t hurt but
I think especially when it comes to Seline really understanding that would make a a massive massive
difference I feel yeah I agree with that but to me I was literally going to say I was like I don’t
have any ex like outstanding questions I freaking love this film like it just makes me so excited
that I didn’t I wasn’t picking apart anything which is excellent Excellent. Awesome. I But I do
agree with the Selene thing. And what I would like to see is a little more background on the manager
and how they met and how they got together. He loves them. They love him. He treats them so well.
And I I would just like to see more. Yeah. Yeah, that would be that’d be a good call. And her dad,
too. I want to know what like her dad. They said her dad was a demon, right? Oh, that’s right.
Maybe he was there the whole time. Background. You’re right. That would be a good thing to watch.

for reacting to this. Here’s the question. Do you feel even after just watching this once that
this is the type of movie story themes we need more in life? I have watched seven full reactions,
dozens of shorter reactions, the movie 12 times on its own, and so many lyric video reactions, and
all I keep getting is a true feeling of hope, joy, and love. Something this world just needs
more of right now. I absolutely agree. Yes. I think there’s a a new wave of storytelling that is
happening. We saw it with Superman. We’re seeing it with this of people. I think now there’s
a period where we just wanted like dark films and serious films. We we still want that and still
like it. And that’s kind of the point of the movie is we can have both and both can coexist. And uh I
do think there’s a this new element that a lot of us are are clamoring for of wanting more uplifting
sto I’m really wearing a shirt of Superman. It’s actually one of ours that’s about being kind
as punk rock and the I think we want more of that of of things that are about self-acceptance
and also being kinder to other people as well. So more of these kinds of stories and themes,
especially as we’re influencing a generation that grows up on social media, which breeds so much
toxicity and negativity as a big part of algorithm based influence. I I think having stuff like
this is very integral for um societal influence. Personally, I absolutely agree. I mean, if you
look at the color palette of this film, it is me and my my whole thing is spread hugs, love, and
laughter. So, I love how uplifting and colorful this film was and how it brought to light that
even though we all have a little bit of not great things in us. There’s stuff that has happened to
us in all of our lives, all of our past, there’s there’s, you know, the broken glass and the song,
it just makes it better. And you can be accepted and loved and there can still be joy around
you and kindness with it. That you don’t have to allow that past or that hurt or that pain to
consume you. That it can become just part of who you are. But you can set the right foot forward
and continue with, you know, kindness and love, which is in the end what they all embraced
is themselves fully 100% telling the truth, feeling like this is what it sounds like. And
that this this that’s why that film I mean this film means a lot to me. Adorably so. Yeah. Arlene,
I was surprised how much I like this film. Me too. That music though. The themes of forgiveness,
self-acceptance, and strong friendship are not typical of the musical industry. That was one of
the things that was throwing me for a loop was how like non-egotistical they were, how how good they
were with a manager, how great they are with their fans. Totally. It’s actually a great encouragement
of how to be as a celebrity. I agree. Um, K-pop in particular features the perfection of
its performers. Yeah, that’s one of the things I always hear about K-pop people is like the strict
discipline, regimen, routine, and like they just seem like they’re born from a different cloth, cut
from a different cloth. Do you think this message would have been stronger if either the groups were
more divergent in appearance or this is a message meant to appeal to Western culture? I actually
feel like um the more specific you are, the more universal something can actually be. I think when
sometimes they try to be more broad and universal, you actually lose sight of connectivity. So
I think actually keeping it more focused on something very specific allows that allows you to
explore the detail of the emotion. And because of that, it actually makes it more universal than if
they tried some other type of pandering effect. Yeah. Because we’re not worried about like really
the heart of this movie is not worrying about like what is on the outside so that we get the message.
It’s what’s on the inside and we did receive the message. Yeah. Right. And I’m like, the message
meant to appeal to Western culture. I think it’s just meant to appeal honestly to the world. And I
think they did a really good job of that. I mean, I was we had some subtitles on. Obviously, they
had lyrics in their like native language in here, words that I didn’t understand, but oh my god. Um,
we have a lot more questions, but I I I absolutely think it it appealed to the world. We could do
this in five minutes. Watch us get this. Resident Z. Just from the title of this movie, what did you
think you were getting into in the movie? Also, do you think the blend of action and music worked
well? I mean, I’ve shared what I thought we were getting into. What did you think we’re getting
into? I had no idea, but the second they opened up, that’s why I said I’m like, I hope the editors
like reel in on I had goosebumps in knowing like, oh my god, music and we’re gonna fight. There’s
going to be action. That is my kind of film. Let’s go. And in terms of action, I mean, the
action sequences were brilliantly done. And I had always wanted to see a musical action movie.
It’s something I’ve talked about. People like, there’s no way that sounds stupid, but they
proved that you can do it and it was really cool that they they pulled it off in a way that
was immersive and badass and elevated. So, yeah, I’m really happy with it. Yep. Phoebe, a lot of
people are asking for the sequel of this movie, which I would totally be down for. What do you
think they should touch on narratively if a sequel were to be created? Something new. The history of
Roomy’s parents and family, Junior Soul being a part of Roomy’s sword. Now, um, I appreciate the
specificity of the question. I mean, we did touch on pretty much all of this already. Uh, I think
they they would want to lean more into Room’s uh, history, but we didn’t really explore the
past of the other two characters as well, the other two people in the band. So, if I were
to throw a little thing in there is I think maybe I think sometimes the you know like finding Nemo
and finding Dory was smart because Dory you start to explore her past. So maybe it’s not roomy.
You keep that as a B story and then you explore the past of one of the other characters. Yeah.
Like how did Mer get to be so dead pan and like that I would be interested. Yeah. Yeah. Little
preach 12 Jesus. Haha. I’m betting y’all will love this. We did. We have said what our favorite
song was and what did you think about Geneu dying even though you want him to come back. This is
why I shouldn’t deviate from the questions. Do you think it is an actual good writing story
decision or should they let him be and go to the be the next step in the upcoming movies
cuz now there’s a line of Demon Hunter movies to come. Uh I think don’t bring him back in the
next one. Bring him back in the third one. Yeah, that was a surprise. I loved his sacrifice because
like I we I talked about it before, but his sacrifice was him sort of making up for the fact
like his POV of leaving his family behind and he he it’s sort of hard for him to just live his life
without with all of this guilt. He’s just like, “This is what it means to be a demon, to live
in pain and misery.” And now he has sacrificed himself for the good of like the world. So I’m
like, “Go for it. Go for it.” Yeah. Uh Cammy, hi guys. Apparently this movie took nine years
to make and the creators have lore for years. It seems it certainly feels that way. It does. Do you
think a sequel would be a fun or follow-up would ruin the arc this one has? I don’t think so. Also,
a lot of actual K-pop idols like Wu Young from ATS have come out and said how far from idol life this
actually is. Of course, it is like the joint fan sign would create a scandal so big people idols
themselves would be fired. But no, that’s kind of what I think the movie is doing is demonstrating
maybe of more of the the movie is about unity. The movie is about harmony, right? And and and and
a lot of times we’re we’re in a world of so much competition and rivalry and and often trying to
take down others to elevate ourselves. And this movie I I think is I think it’s smart to show like
the famous people not wanting to be that way and hope because at the end of the day people can
be influenced by that. So I think that’s really uh it’s a ant antithesis to what it’s like in real
life and I think that’s the purpose. That’s the purpose because why can’t there be a joint fan
signing two of my favorite bands. Yeah. Forget about it. Like that’s how the world should be.
So I’m I’m down with the message they’re sending. Landon Miller recently saw this and loved it.
Glad to see you guys watching. Were there any plot twists that surprised you guys? especially
around Gino and the Saja Boys. Obviously, I have to ask what your guys favorite song or
the biggest banger. We already said that one, but the plot twist, I’m not really Oh, the plot
twist that surprised me was the level of exposure um when she um Roomie was on stage and the way
they just stripped her down. Oh yeah. God. And then how everything came to a crescendo. I didn’t
expect the finale to go so big where they were it was just a big level of exposure which is works
very thematically as well but like the demons are all there like the whole world’s getting to know
about the demons and everything like that and then Roomie being like so violating what happened
to Roomie that I was surprised like it was so icky how it felt so it wasn’t really like a that
that was a surprise I would say that’s a surprise and we have gone over their favorite songs and
yeah I would just say the the moment with the aunt when she’s like oh I wanted to keep a piece of uh
your mom around forever and that she opens up to her and her aunt still goes back. We can cover it
up. We can go back to before. Don’t reveal any of your fear or your pain and it’s like what? Like I
thought that it would be like oh I’m accepting you like you heard me say it. I was like she’s going
to accept her now. She didn’t. So that was a thing for me. Final one. Amanda Hayward loved this movie
but I kind of wish it was a series instead. How do you feel? Does this movie feel like there are
any story lines you wanted to spend more time on that a series form I could have handled better?
Well, they have more movies in mind. I think as an introduction, a movie is smarter. Yeah. Um
I absolutely think they will have movies and a series co- like running uh simultaneously. I think
I don’t think this story needed to be a series, but I do think they can do a series that does
build out the like they have a universe on their hands that not just a one-off. And this is one
where I’m like, yeah, build out the universe. It’s an original IP universe as well. That makes
it very exciting because you get more fre freedom and and we haven’t had like an original universe
in a while. So I think movie introduction smart because that’s how a lot of these universes first
start then we go into more series and and do it all. I think so. Yeah. Yeah. I agree with that. I
trust the writer so much here that the pacing and the the tone of this it it moves. And most of the
time when you go into a series you kind of want to leave people like maybe on a cliffhanger
and you get the next one. And I’m like, these writers were so smart at the fact that
someone told us they worked on it for nine years that we don’t really need to like lengthen out and
take our time to make it take up 6 to 12 episodes that it’s like in an hour in like 2 hours. We
can get a really good story that doesn’t lag and gives the foundation for like everything you
need and then we can break off from there. So, I thought this was a smart move. Thank you
