Welcome to this week’s “MyGO!!!!!’s Maigo Center”! MyGO!!!!!’s Maigo Center, we’ll start with this section. Fan Letter Section In this section, we introduce letters from listeners about their everyday life. You can find the mailing address for Maigo Center in the description and on our website. Please write to us. We’d love to hear your stories, messages, questions, and anything else you’d like to share with MyGO!!!!!. Here’s the first letter. This letter is from “Hinotori”-san. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! To the MyGO!!!!! members, Kon-MyGO!!!!! Kon-MyGO!!!!! Kon-MyGO!!!!! I love Imo-mochi more than any other food, (Imo mochi is a type of Japanese snack made from potatoes) and I always order it whenever I see it on a menu. But strangely enough, it’s hard to find— it’s usually only at izakayas or sushi restaurants. Yeah, that’s true. I always wish it could be something more commonly available. Is there a lesser-known food that you girls from MyGO!!!!! like? If so, I’d love to hear about it. Yeah, you really don’t see potato mochi that often. It’s definitely more of an izakaya thing. But it’s so good! There’s that version with cheese inside, too. Sounds so good. That one’s amazing. So good! For me, one lesser-known food I wish was used more is— baby corn. Ohh, baby corn! Yeah! But like, where do you even see it? Maybe in stir-fry mixes? That’s true. Like in Chinese-style dishes. I picture it in thick sauces and stuff. I actually used to get it as a kid, just by itself from the supermarket. My parents would let me eat it as a snack. What did you season it with? Or was it already flavored? I think it came pre-seasoned, just slightly salty maybe? Pre-seasoned baby corn? Probably so. Those actually exist? The texture is so unique, it’s definitely a baby corn thing. I wish more dishes used it. That’s pretty rare. Yeah it’s rare. I haven’t heard that one before. Lesser-known indeed. How about you two? Lesser-known… As for me, there is this one thing I buy in bulk at supermarket— Sashimi konjac What is that? Sashimi… konjac? Huh, you don’t know it? Not at all. Don’t know. Really don’t know? Maybe I don’t eat much sashimi. What is it exactly? It’s usually sold near regular konjac. Usually, you just rinse it and eat it as is. Ah, it’s a different kind of “sashimi” than raw fish sashimi. Same like that. Basically, it’s like raw konjac— served cold with soy sauce. Oh, I think I know it! Is it the green one? Yeah, that’s it! I know it! I’m still confused. So those are called sashimi konjac, huh? Yup, sashimi konjac. Oh wow! I’ve been having those without knowing what it’s called! So it’s green? Yeah, greem. I wonder why… Maybe it has seaweed mixed in or something? Like aonori? Yeah, probably aonori. Ah, those are good! I dip those in soy sauce and sometimes mustard miso. Mustard miso… Basically those are just plain konjac lol You don’t see that in restaurants, right? Nope, not really. Usually it’s just at home. I wonder if some izakayas have it. Maybe some might, but it’s mainly at supermarkets. Yeah, you won’t find it at convenience stores. Oh, I see. I usually buy like five packs at once at the supermarket. It’s always stocked in my fridge during summer. It’s my go-to snack when I’m drinking at night. And it’s super healthy, so no guilt. You can totally binge on it. Sounds great. That sounds nice. That’s the first time I’ve heard of it. What about you, Hinapiyo? Well, I don’t know if it’s niche… but I’m really into pretzels. Ah, they’re so good. Not heart-shaped, but kind of curled up like that. Oh, the bread kind? Yeah, there’s a bread-like kind, but the ones I like are the small, snack-sized ones. The ones with the bigger salt crystals on top. Salt pretzels are my absolute favorite. So good… Those are really good. Most people like the chocolate-covered ones, though. True. I’m after the salty pretzels, and whenever I see them, I just have to grab some. I love that crispy crunch, the roasted aroma, and salty kick. Those are my favorite. I just devour them. We even ate those when we went to work in Singapore together, right? Yeah, we did. Oh, I see. That’s right. They were seriously delicious. That’s right. They were seriously delicious.
And when we went to the Christmas market, I had pretzels then too. And when we went to the Christmas market, I had pretzels then too. Yeah, that’s right! We ate a ton. I really love pretzels. The smell is so toasty and inviting. Have you ever had them? Maybe not. Really? I’ve seen them, though. But I always end up reaching for the chocolate ones ‘cause I’m craving something sweet. Chocolate pretzels are tasty too, but I’m all about the salty ones. I get that. They do seem really good. There are some surprisingly niche snacks out there. Yeah, I love going to places like KALDI and Seijo Ishii. (*Both KALDI and Seijo Ishii are well-known chain stores in Japan specializing in imported foods) They have all sorts of weird and wonderful foods you won’t find in normal supermarkets. Imported ones too. I totally get it. I love browsing those spots. Let’s move on to the next letter. This letter comes from “623”-san. Thank you so much! Thank you! Thank you! To the MyGO!!!!! members, Kon-MyGO!!!!! Kon-MyGO!!!!! Kon-MyGO!!!!! I went to the BanG Dream! x Sweets Paradise collab café all by myself. Thanks! At first, I did feel a bit awkward doing an all-you-can-eat alone… But the moment I saw all the sweets in front of me, I completely forgot everything and just dove right in. Honestly, going solo to Sweets Paradise ranks way up there on the solo activities difficulty chart. Feels like I’ve unlocked a whole new level of doing things alone. What’s the limit of “doing things solo” for you, MyGO!!!!! members? I’d love to hear your answers! That’s the message we got. Wow, solo collab café… I’ve never done that. I did once! Back in high school, I went to a collab café for an anime I really liked. All by myself. Everyone else was there with fellow otaku friends, chatting about their faves and stuff. I felt super lonely. Oh no… I’m usually fine doing stuff solo, but going to a collab café alone was kinda rough. Yeah, ‘cause everyone there loves the same thing, so it’s natural they’re talking and geeking out together. I was just sitting there like, Man… this would be way more fun with a friend who gets it But this listener totally forgot about all that once the food came out and had a great time! They really enjoyed it, huh? Glad it worked out! I’m okay with solo yakiniku or buffets, no problem. But like Hina-chan said, going to the movies alone… that’s a bit tougher for me. Really? Movies are easy! Why’s that? Okay, hear me out. I thought it’d be no big deal too. But after the movie, when everyone around me was like “Ahh, that part was so good!””Yeah, that scene hit hard!” you know, friends, couples, families all going, It made me wanna talk about it too! I get that. That’s when I realized… maybe I can’t do solo movies after all. I do go to the movies alone. And I’m the opposite—I only ever go to movies alone now. Honestly, I probably forgot what it’s like to go with someone. Huh, really? Like, if you watch something emotional, isn’t it harder to cry when there’s someone sitting next to you? Oh yeah, I get that. You’re so cute for saying that. Like, if someone says, “Were you crying just now?” afterwards— Even if they don’t, I still get self-conscious. It kinda ruins the mood. I see. Yeah, being around people can make you overly aware. That’s why I’m totally fine watching movies solo. So what’s everyone’s limit for doing stuff solo? Last week, I went to Disneyland. Alone again? That’s wild. You went alone before too, right? Yeah, I did. You went to Disney alone?! I went solo Disneying! …How do you even enjoy that? You’re asking with such a serious face, lol. Honestly, it’s just like food-hopping, y’know? I went with the same vibe as hitting up a casual bar. Who goes to Disney with a bar-hopping mindset?! I walked around, drank a little, and I love rides, so I just went for it. That’s true. When I’m by myself, I can just go for thrill rides without holding back. If I’m with someone else, they might be scared of that kind of stuff. But when I’m alone, I can ride whatever I want, no worries. And while waiting in line, I just take pics to kill time. Hey, Rin-sensei. What is it? Don’t you ever feel like shouting, “That was awesome!” after a ride? Not really. laughs You know those big group rides, where a bunch of people ride together? There’s always those loud college kids, right? They’re screaming the whole time. Normally, I’m not great with people who are super outgoing like that. I’m not really the “party crowd” type. But just for that moment, I totally felt like one of them. Like, “Was that girl part of our group?” levels. You know those ride photos they take? I was flashing a peace sign like I was part of their crew. At that point, you weren’t even solo anymore. Yup, I was basically one of them. But I think the place matters too. Being at Disney made it feel totally okay. Like, people wave at you from the rides and stuff. You can do that kind of thing solo, no problem. Exactly. True… Yeah. So solo Disney is totally doable. Yeah. If I liked theme parks more, maybe I’d be able to do that too. I bet you could. Yeah, I feel like you’d rock it. Hina-chan, don’t you ever feel like yelling “That was awesome!” after a ride? Nah, I’m fine just enjoying it quietly on my own. Huh, I see. How about a cat café? I’ve been to one alone. Yeah, cat cafés are totally solo-friendly. But don’t you ever get the urge to share those fun moments? I do want to express it after. Whether it’s a movie or anything else, I wanna share what I felt and see if someone else felt the same. That’s why I read a ton of movie reviews. Movie review… Like, those ones with spoiler warnings. Or I search reactions on social media. When I see stuff like, “Ahh, that scene was so good” or “That part was kinda meh” I’m like “YES, SAME.” It’s kinda cool realizing other people felt the same way. So I just use the internet to get my fix of shared reactions. I also sent photos from Disney to my parents. I see. Yeah, or messaged close friends like, “Hey, I’m at Disney by myself right now!” That kinda stuff fills the gap. Makes sense. Nowadays, you really can do just about anything solo. Anything, really. It’s that kind of era, huh? Thanks to everyone who sent in messages! We really appreciate it! In this section, we invite you to send in your everyday stories. Please share with us the little things about your daily life. We look forward to receiving many messages from you. Alright, it’s time to introduce our next song! This week’s song pick is Rin-chan, the solo rider—You got this! Alright. Please enjoy—”Mayoiuta” by MyGO!!!!!. You were listening to “Mayoiuta” by MyGO!!!!!. July 3rd, 2022—our very first live show. Tomorrow marks three years since that debut performance at Shibuya duo. Wait, it’s only been three years? Yeah, just three. That’s wild. It feels so intense. MyGO!!!!!’s journey has been so full. Totally. It’s kinda hard to believe, honestly. When someone says “three years”, it really catches you off guard. Yeah, like—whoa. It’s gone by so fast. This year’s tour will definitely be packed with more unforgettable memories. But still… wow. It really has been three whole years. We’ve done so much in that time. We really hope you’ll keep walking this path with us, together with MyGO!!!!!. Please stay with us—we’d love that. We also welcome everyone to send in requests for MyGO!!!!! songs you’d like to hear at the MyGO!!!!!’s Maigo Center. Tell us your favorite MyGO!!!!! songs! Next up on the MyGO!!!!!’s Maigo Center is… It’s one of the brand new sections. True MyGOods!!!!! In this section, we’ll be sharing stories and reasons behind the item you treasure or collect. We’ve already received a bunch of letters, so let’s dive right into the first one. This message comes from “Lemon Jelly”-san. Thank you so much! Thank you! Thank you! To the MyGO!!!!! members, Kon-MyGO!!!!! Kon-MyGO!!!!! Kon-MyGO!!!!! I love fruit, and I’ve been collecting those little label stickers that come on them. Especially the ones stuck directly on the surface, like on kiwis or watermelons. I still collect them in a notebook— and over time, even the same brand’s designs change bit by bit, or I’ll find a rare one from a fruit I don’t usually eat, and it brings back all kinds of memories. Have any of you ever collected fruit stickers? Nope. Never. Can’t say I have. But yeah, they do stick those on. Like on fuzzy kiwis—you see that sticker slapped right on top. Totally. What were the designs like again? The ones on fruit? Now that you mention it… what do they even say? Maybe like, “Award-winning” something or other? Right? What was on those things? I always just peeled them off and tossed them without thinking. Same. Exactly. That’s actually kind of niche. It really is. For me, back in the day, it was milk bottles— like the ones we had in school. Yes! We had the same kind! Same. I used to collect the bottle caps too. They came in all different colors. No way! Mine were usually white. There were other colors too, and the size or shape would vary depending on the drink. So when I traveled somewhere and saw bottled milk or cocoa, I’d collect those too. Later I’d look at the caps and go, “Ah, this one’s from that trip…” It brings back memories, you know? It definitely does. Totally unrelated, but… do you two remember that plastic seal on top of the milk bottles? It used to be kind of purplish-blue. But didn’t it switch to white at some point? Wait— You mean it turned clear? Mine always felt like they were purple. Really? For real?
Really? For real? That change made me so sad. What? Wait a sec lol You were actually sad when it turned white? I always thought the blue ones were cuter! Oh yeah. You just triggered a full-on memory, lol. Now that you say it, I kinda remember white ones too? But both Rin-chan and I are from Kansai. So maybe it was just a Kansai thing? Could be, I’m not really sure. Sorry, totally off-topic. Still… that was a sad moment for me. That’s actually really cute. Such a sweet little memory, I love that. But seriously, collecting little things like that and reminiscing later… I really relate to that feeling. Yeah, same here. And like at concerts, there are picks and stuff. Some people collect those too. And I collect tickets too! Same! But nowadays, everything’s gone digital… Exactly. I really prefer paper tickets. I keep all of them neatly filed away. Now with smartphone entry and e-tickets, you don’t get to physically keep the memory anymore. Back then, you’d enter the venue with a paper ticket, and I’d carefully bring it home— Seeing that stack grow thicker over the year made me so happy. Like, “Wow, I went to this many shows in one year!” I totally get it now! That feeling sticks with you. Yeah, it’s such a good way to look back. It has the date, the venue—everything’s written on it. All the details are right there. That’s true. So nice. That was really nice—hearing everyone’s different stories. Seems like we’re all collecting all sorts of things. I guess most people have at least something they collect. Let’s move on to the next letter. This letter is from “Popcorn”-san. Thank you for writing to us. Thank you! Thank you! I collect those souvenir medals you can make at aquariums and zoos. I keep them in a case, and when the collection grows, it really brings back memories of each place. Do any of you MyGO!!!!! members make medals when you go to aquariums or zoos? I’d love to know! That’s the message we got. Thanks for the message! I do! They’re super cute, but like… how do you even store them? Wouldn’t they rust? They rust? They rust?! You know the ones at theme parks? Those long, egg-shaped ones—they definitely rust over time. Oh wow, they do rust. Yeah, those totally rust. Got it, sensei. They rust. Yup, yup. Even so, I used to collect them when I was little. I don’t really do it anymore though. But they definitely have that special charm that makes you wanna collect them. And the designs are so cute. Yeah, super cute. Yeah, super cute.
Like the little engravings and stuff. Like the little engravings and stuff. You know how at those places—like aquariums, for example— there’s always that gift shop at the end? Do you girls usually buy stuff there, or are you more like, “Nah, just looking”? I usually browse first—and if something catches my eye, I buy it. Same here. I see. Is it mostly for the memories? Sometimes, yeah. But sometimes it’s just something I want. I really like plushies, so I tend to grab those. Those from aquariums are adorable. They really are! Aquarium plushies are adorable. Okay, I have a question that might be a “voice actor thing”—tell me if it is: So like, I voice Tomori-chan, right? And when I see a penguin plushie, I’ll think, “I should put this next to Tomori-chan!” and buy it. That’s so wholesome. Do you all do that too? Like, if it’s Rāna-chan, maybe you’d buy cat stuff? Or if it’s Anon-chan, something more her style? I’ve definitely gotten more cat merch. Like, if I see a cat-themed T-shirt or anything with cats on it, I’m like “Aww, cute!” And then I buy it—so I’ve ended up with a bunch of cat stuff. Oh yeah. I’ve always thought cats were cute, I’ve always thought cats were cute,
but since I started playing Rāna-chan, I feel like I have this built-in radar for cat things now. but since I started playing Rāna-chan, I feel like I have this built-in radar for cat things now. Like a cat-sensing antenna, right? Exactly that! Yeah, I feel that way too. Like, I’ve started thinking “This seems like something Anon-chan would totally do.” That’s so cool. Like what, for example? It’s not like I would do it myself, but when I see something fashionable or a stylish item, I think, “Oh, Anon-chan would love that.” I totally get you. That kind of thing’s been happening more and more. Even when I’m looking at clothes, I’ll go, “Hmm, that looks like something Anon-chan would wear.” Or I’ll say stuff like, “This feels like something Rāna-chan would be into.” Yup, totally. It’s definitely a voice actor thing. It just kinda… pops into your head. Totally. Alright! So in this section, we’re asking for your stories about the things you collect! Like—”I’ve never told anyone this, but I actually collect this.” Or, “I’ve been really curious about this one thing, and I want to know more about it!” Anything goes! Tell us all about your most passionate MyGOods! You can find the mailing address for Maigo Center in the description and on our website. Please write to us. Please! MyGO!!!!!’s Maigo Center. It’s the ending time of the week again! We read a lot of messages today, and you know what? The three of us have really different ways of doing things—it’s kinda funny. Totally. For sure. It’s like, three totally different styles. Right? Even though we learn these things through the show, Backstage we’re always just chatting about the most random stuff. Yeah, we never really have a topic. So we actually end up learning new things about each other here. Even though we’ve been doing this for over three years. There’s still more to discover, huh? But we’ve spent a lot of time together through music too. Wow nice. That’s pretty special. You sound like Tomori-chan just now. Felt like a live MC moment! That’d feel like a whole different vibe altogether, I think. Totally. And since the tour’s in full swing now, We hope you’ll come out and join us! Pleas join us! Pleas join us! This show invites letters from viewers. You can find the mailing address for Maigo Center in the description and on our website. Feel free to write to us.
