Karuizawa in early February. There is only a little bit of snow left from last night. I came here for the first time in 10 days. I wonder if today will be another cold day in the room where the sunlight shines through. The current temperature is -8℃.
The temperature is always the same in the morning, probably because the thermometer is about. lol. Next is this stove, and if this window is clean, you can see the flame clearly. When you press the switch and the flame comes out, a warm breeze will come out from the top of the front door.
The clear winter air feels so good that I want to come to this house even when it’s cold. This atmosphere may be the reason why I have been living in two locations for six years . A winter garden where all the leaves have fallen and only branches are left.
The large coniferous trees visible in the background give the impression of a winter forest. When spring comes, I want to take this with me on a picnic. Following last time, I will do a small DIY this time as well. During the winter, I tend to make more things at home.
Attach this metal fitting to the painted wooden board. it is complete. I will put it in a room on the second floor. I’ve always loved DIY, and I’ve made a lot of things just by watching and copying. It would be fine if it was just shelves and tables, but
I also rented an old shop and built a small cafe. I drew up plans, painted the walls, installed tiles, and even created a small gallery in the basement. It’s a fun memory, it happened 15-6 years ago. I’m going to make lunch now. Today’s menu is vegetable soup.
It is made with potatoes, carrots, and onions. Today I will also add king king mushrooms. 10 grams of butter. Cut the two sausages diagonally. Stir-fry the sausages and king king mushrooms. Add plenty of water. Remove the scum. 2 spoons of chicken stock. Cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Boil the broccoli in this pot. 400ml of soy milk. A little miso. Season with salt and pepper. It’s done ♡ I’ll eat it. It has a gentle taste. Others will warm me up♪ Now that it’s warmed up, I’m going to take a walk in the garden.
Keep an eye out for buds of daffodils and tulips. I planted daffodils around here last year, but maybe they’re daffodils? ! Small buds are sprouting in the freezing cold. It’s a winter forest with only frozen fallen leaves, but the season is moving towards spring.
It’s getting cold, so I go back to my room. Now it’s time for flowers. This is a Shirotaegikku that I picked from a garden in Tokyo. The small pink flowers are rhodanthemum. The two large flowers are ranunculus. Other than the ranunculus, I picked them from potted plants. Silver leaf rosemary.
Sweet pink with a slight hint of color, romantic color and shape. The world of small plants is a fantasy. I encountered that “wonder” today as well. Let’s have some tea. I bought this at RK DAYS at Karuizawa Common Grounds. Canelé is a French baked confectionery. Cute shape.
It goes well with rich canelés and tea. It has a small shelf and has become a cozy room. A wooden toy found at an antique shop in Nishi-Ogikubo. I kind of like this simple picture, and it’s a small wooden puzzle. It’s a quiet winter day.
Small buds are waiting for spring under the frozen fallen leaves.
