今作の歌詞は17才という年齢の「どっちつかず」な中途半端さを解りやすく綴っています。♪大人でもない 子供でもない～ ♪友達じゃない 妹じゃない～ ♪ひとつ上って ひとつ迷って～ など。
メロディの方はメジャー調とマイナー調が交錯したメロディで「ヤング・ボーイ」と共通していますが、「ヤング・ボーイ」ほど出だしは低音域ではなく、中・高音域でスタートし、サビに至るまで疾走感溢れるサウンドで突っ走ります。
