Before crossing the bridge, there’s something I wanted to introduce. It’s a specialty of Yamaguchi! I want to introduce a famous Uiro (Japanese sweet) place! *Uiro – A traditional snack representing Yamaguchi known for its chewy and elastic texture.

If there’s a Kintai Bridge in this area, Furuta-syueido is right in front of it. It’s really delicious here~ I’m going to buy a gift here for my friend from Tokyo! I should get something for myself too~ *Kintaikyo Ta-da~ We’ve arrived at Kintai Bridge! Can you see the beautiful arch?

On the mountain, you can also see Iwakuni Castle, an ancient castle. So, I always think that looking at Kintai Bridge from the left at this angle is the most beautiful. What’s special is that this part is made of stone, and the arch part is made of wood.

*Kintai Bridge, one of Japan’s three famous bridges, is known for being a wooden bridge without using nails in its reconstruction. Although metal was not completely excluded, the bridge is unique in that it was made without using nails. It’s so nice~ I’m happy~

I purchased a ticket for going up for 970 yen. If you just want to cross the bridge, it’s 310 yen. But since I came all the way here, I want to go up to the top, so I bought the set.

The lower part of the bridge is also very beautiful, with stones under the wood. This triangular shape is said to resemble the front of a ship. Since there might be a flood in the river here, it’s essential to make this long bridge strong.

In the past, I used to climb up here by walking instead of taking the ropeway. I definitely don’t recommend walking up here. It was really tough. It took maybe 30-40 minutes? It’s a complete mountain trail, and I regretted not being prepared. Comfortably take the ropeway up!

Yamaguchi Prefecture, including Kintai Bridge, isn’t the first place people think of when Probably because Fukuoka, Okinawa, and Osaka are more popular. But I want to introduce it properly to people with in Japan. I’m introducing it with the intention of sharing the experience of traveling on behalf of Mint subscribers.
