昔々、ナマケモノが海にも生息していたらしいです！ ^.^
現代のナマケモノは、せいぜい6種しかありませんが
数千~数百万年前のアメリカ大陸には
8つの科と、50種以上に及ぶ
数多くのナマケモノの親戚たちが生息していました。
地面には地上性ナマケモノが闊歩していて
メガテリウムのような象ほどに巨大な地上性ナマケモノがいたり
木を登り下りできる
体長1mの小さな地上性ナマケモノ
”ハパロプス(Hapalops)”と”ネマテリウム(Nematherium)”も
生息したりしていたのです。
このようにアメリカ大陸には
さまざまなナマケモノが生息していたのです
一つ、不思議なことは
これらの中には、海に生息していた
ナマケモノもいたということです。
