This weekend—Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th— is the joint concert with Ave Mujica ”Beyond the Fork in the Road” Shanghai Live Oh wow… I’m kinda nervous! Shanghai! Shanghai! It’s been a whole year. Yeah. Last time was around the same season, right? Was it? Maybe… September? Last time it was just MyGO!!!!!, but this time we’ll be with Ave Mujica and… sumimi too. It’s gonna be lively. I’m so happy! I seriously can’t wait. I heard the venue’s huge. Let’s give it our all! We’re counting on you, everyone! Please keep supporting us! Lately, at a few of my solo events, I’ve had a lot of chances to chat with fans. One first-year high-schooler told me they just started guitar. They said, “I’m trying to play MyGO!!!!! songs, but they’re hard—I can’t get them right.” I asked which song, and they said “Haruhikage”. And I went, yeah… that one’s tough! Yeah, that one is tough. It’s tough, right? Super tough. When you play it in a band, the tone’s pretty clean, right? So mistakes stand out even more. Honestly it’s just a difficult song. I was like “Haruhikage” is a hard song! ”Noroshi” is relatively easier… Yeah, that one might be easier to start with! After I said that, they went, “Got it! I’ll work hard!” That’s nice. A first-year in high school… so earnest and cute. I love that. Everyone— do your best! Alright then. Welcome to this week’s “MyGO!!!!!’s Maigo Center”! MyGO!!!!!’s Maigo Center, we’ll start with this section. Please write to us. We’d love to hear your stories, messages, questions, and anything else you’d like to share with MyGO!!!!!. Here’s the first letter. This letter is from “Nopponeru”-san. Thank you. ”Nopponeru” To the MyGO!!!!! members, Kon-MyGO!!!!! Kon-MyGO!!!!! I like spacing out and thinking after I go to the sauna. Since you can’t use your phone in hot-spring facilities, it’s great for digital detox—highly recommended. (Digital detox = intentionally stepping away from phones and devices to de-stress and reset.) Especially when I’m thinking about what to write to Maigo Center— that’s my sweet spot. Happy to hear that! Do you make time in your life to just zone out and think? ”Time to zone out”, huh… When I’m soaking in the bath, I try not to touch my phone. Wow, that’s impressive. I put my iPad in front of me and watch videos in the bath. Nice! Honestly, no matter how I try… electionics… You end up touching them. Totally. You always end up touching them no matter what. On the train I’m always on my phone. Same Even when I should stop, I keep scrolling. I’ll be like, “Okay, I’m not opening Twitter today” and then a few seconds later I open it and go, “Wait, what?” It happens all the time! It’s called X now… X! Right—close X, and then two seconds later it’s open again. Why do we do that? Lots of people do that, honestly. For digital detox… this just came to mind—when I’m getting a lash lift or whitening, you can’t do anything, so I space out then. Sometimes I even doze off. Same for when I’m getting a massage—probably only around then. That’s my “Time to zone out” That is nice. You also can’t check your phone at the movies. Yeah, true. It feels so good. But when you are at home, you start touching your phone again. Exactly. One notification and… yeah. How did we even live before? Right? What were we doing? I gamed when I was little. I had tons of lessons as a kid. My parents got me a phone super early just to coordinate pickups. But like—if I had lessons on weekends, I’d use the phone, then toss it in my bag, and not touch it again until the next weekend. That was some serious digital detox. It just stayed in the bag. Yeah. I didn’t even text. It was just for contacting family, And on weekdays we were together anyway, so I didn’t need it. For real. Now it’s unimaginable. Even boarding the train it’s beep on your phone, and payments are all electronic. I go shopping without a wallet now. It’s become something we can’t live without. Digital detox is good. That time away from the phone is precious. It feels like “wow, I’m spending my time well.” Valuable, even. That’s great—going to the sauna and all that. Good for the mind and body. And you’re even thinking of letters to send us— thank you! Thanks! Thanks for such a nicely organized message! This one’s from “Coelacanth”-san. To the MyGO!!!!! members, Kon-MyGO!!!!! Kon-MyGO!!!!! I listened to “Egakumirai” which dropped on September 17. Thank you! The song was amazing, of course— but I got super curious about where the MV was filmed, so I looked it up right away— and two days after the MV release I went on a seichi junrei (pilgrimage to the locations). Whoa—that’s fast. So fast! I visited Abuzuri Children’s Park—the one with the panda ride Taki-chan sat on— plus the Shinnase Kaigan-mae bus stop that Anon would totally call “SNS-worthy” and the beach at Hayama Park. I re-watched the MV while touring the spots and had a blast. The town vibe was great, too. If I get the time, I’d love to go back and do the Hayama Town sightseeing I missed this time. If the casts has the chance, please visit as well. I’m really looking forward to hearing “Egakumirai” live someday. End of letter. Thank you! We received “Egakumirai” from Aqua Timez, and the MV that dropped is beautiful, right? The time from release to people heading to the locations— Wasn’t that basically instant? I saw the posts too. Same here. My feed was full of people out there with their plushies like, immediately. Isn’t it too fast…? Did everyone instantly figure out it was Hayama Town? They pinpointed the spots in a flash. Back when Ave Mujica aired, the places Sakiko-chan and the others went… yeah, I saw tons of folks doing pilgrimages there, too. It’s wild. And it’s seriously a gorgeous area! Yeah great place. The seaside is so pretty— People were writing “Egakumirai” in the sand. Looks so fun. I wanna go in summer. Summer would be perfect. Same! It’s in Kanagawa, right? It’s doable… I just haven’t been. Me neither. Do you go by train? Or by car… I wonder if there’s a station? There should be? Ah—maybe bus. Yeah, bus sounds good. Maybe everyone took the bus? MyGO!!!!! members too. They can’t drive yet. True. So probably train to bus from the station. For adults, renting a car might be convenient. True. Ugh, I wanna go. Also—the outfits were adorable. So cute. Rāna-chan had that cat-ear hat— It looked… probably kinda hot, lol. Anon-chan’s hair was different than usual and super cute, too. It looked kind of like Rikki’s style. They both felt like big-sister vibes— such a nice MV… It totally looked like what they’d actually wear on a day out. Adorable. Felt really true-to-life. Rana-chan’s styling was so cute— and stylish! So stylish! Like something a K-pop idol would wear, right? She seems like the least into fashion, but she’s the most on-trend. MyGO!!!!! is a pretty popular band now, so maybe fans gifted those pieces? Like, “This would look great on Rāna-chan.” Make sense! Without even trying, she’s pulling off super current trends. She keeps saying “anything’s fine”, but it’s cute—so it works. And the song itself is beautiful. I really hope we can perform it live someday. Thank you so much! Thank you! We’ve already received a bunch of letters, so let’s dive right into the first one. Let’s go! This message comes from “Phil from Maigo room”-san. To the MyGO!!!!! members, Kon-MyGO!!!!! Kon-MyGO!!!!! My true “MyGOods!!!!!” is Protein powder. These past two or three years I’ve been hooked on working out, so I’ve gotten super picky about protein. Before I find “the one”, I end up trying tons of brands. When my fave brand drops a new flavor, I get curious and buy it. If I see a recommedation online, I basically click buy right away. Right now I’m into yogurt flavor, but I still haven’t found that destined, perfect protein. So, listeners—please send me your recommendations… Not us, right? Not us. I see. Got it. If any MyGO!!!!! members know a lot about protein powder, please let me know! And even if you don’t usually train, drinking protein can still help your body recover, so I do recommend it! P.S. I drink it when I need a boost. ”When you need a boost”? lol The period of time when I need a boost. Like when I’m in a “I’m gonna slim down!” phase. Ah, makes sense. When I feel like I should watch my weight, I drink it— and lately I’ve been drinking it again. What flavor do you usually go for? The one I have at home is mixed berry. Feels like it’d be smoothie-ish. Kinda, yeah—lots of strawberry/blueberry-type berries. My old personal trainer recommended this one. It’s good. Berry stuff. But protein powder… you really get sick of them fast. I put in a few scoops—like a couple hundred grams of powder— then around 200 ml of milk. And I’m like… this is a lot. Recently I’ve been using soy milk. Sounds good. It is. Still feels like a lot, but this way I can drink it pretty easily, and I don’t get bored of it. People say protein tastes good these days. There are seriously infinite flavors. Tons of dessert-like ones too. Chocolate and all that. But I feel like fruit flavors go down easier than chocolate. Oh, really? That’s for me, at least. It’s sweet, but not dessert-level sweet. True. That “in-between” sweetness leaves me kinda unsatisfied. Right—you know how good coffee drinks are. Exactly. We know how tasty the really sweet stuff is. High-calorie goodness, you know? So compared to that, protein can feel a bit lacking. I’m gonna keep trying different ones. New flavors keep coming out anyway. Alright—thanks so much for the message. Thank you! The lext letter is from “Kanjō kanjō-sen”-san. Thank you! To the MyGO!!!!! members, Kon-MyGO!!!!! Kon-MyGO!!!!! My precious “MyGOods!!!!!” is… a mechanical pencil. At work I’m on a computer all day, so I hardly ever use stationery. But because of that, when I switch to a mechanical pencil to jot notes, it really helps me flip my mindset into private time. I still have the one from my school days, but about two years ago I was at a department store and, on a whim, I bought a Swiss mechanical pencil that cost a few thousand yen. It’s my favorite, and at home I end up using only that one. The whole body’s metal with a nice weight. There’s basically no loose part at all. It feels like your hand’s movement just turns straight into lines that spread across the page. It’s fun to write with—just pure joy. That’s some vivid descriptions! That’s such a good vibe— those super fancy pens you give as gifts, the ones lined up at department stores. Adults look cool when they use a really nice ballpoint. I want one… but I’m scared I’d lose it. Pens are so easy to lose. Then you end up buying one at a convenience store. I swear I keep one in every bag. I kinda wanna try spending money like that, though. Preferences… Stationery preferences… I don’t use them much now, but when I used a mechanical pencil in school, I only used 0.3. That’s thin! 0.5 feels thick. Too thick? I tried 0.3 once— but doesn’t the lead jam? You mean at the tip? It happened to me. It didn’t really for me. Really? I used the “hard-to-break” kind. Oh I got it. I liked those super squishy grips. Oh, those squishy ones! They get grimy if you touch them too much. And your fingers go all graphite-black. So true. That was my favorite mech pencil. I still love 0.3 even now. Yeah? That’s seriously thin. My handwriting’s tiny—pretty fine strokes. I took a ton of notes, so maybe the thin lead kept things from smudging. I was 0.5 gang. I see. Didn’t we have a phase where the lighter lead looked cooler? Like, people who used HB instead of 2B. Because it felt kinda “cool”. But 2B is easier to erase, right? Totally—like in grade school, those pencils with little dangly charms on the eraser cap— I’d jingle them while writing. In first grade, wasn’t it like 4B? Yeah. We’d copy freshly learned kanji into our practice books. I wrote really neatly. If I didn’t, my mom would scold me. We had those assignments where you copy the whole kanji drill into your notebook. I’d copy everything, have my mom check it, then turn it in. There were checks, yep. So proper. Nostalgic. Nostalgic. Thinking back, it was such an easy homework… why did it feel so annoying then? There’s a whole Heisei boom right now— old-school stationery trends, like kneaded erasers, totally made a comeback. They were trendy! I had rocket pencils, too. Rocket pencils remind me: when my big sis was in sixth grade, she brought back a set from her school trip— a rocket pencil and a rocket eraser thing—like a pair. So cool. They were such cool-kid stationery. They even had little charms. So cute. I was obsessed. Cute—super cute. I had this little “treasure box” for my special stuff, and I kept them in there. I remember it so clearly. With stationery, the nicer it is… the less you use it. Exactly. You can’t use it—you’ll wear it down. The emotional value of stationery is kinda huge, right? Owning a nice piece felt like something to brag about. Like glitter pens. Cool. Glitter pens are so cool, right? So cool. Thank you very much! Thank you!
