【デビュー戦】初めての二郎系ラーメンに挑戦！ビビりながら食べてきたんだけど完全に沼…
Hello everyone. It’s Shiri. Oh, I’ve been feeling a bit listless lately. Oh, I climbed Mount Fuji the other day, right? But since then, it’s been off my mind. Yeah . What can I say? Yeah. No matter what I do, it’s like it can’t compare to that epic experience. I’m a teacher, Goro, and I’m once again feeling the incredible stimulation of nature and art. To reawaken those completely numb sensations, ah, today I’m going to a certain place. I was super nervous, and I was thinking about going to my first Jiro-style ramen, which I’d been saving for a long, long time. But, I thought this was the perfect timing, and I’m preparing to try this darune-darune-ge, flavorful, and unique Jiro culture. [Music] [Music] So, today I’m heading to Shinbashi . Apparently, there are a lot of different Jiro-style ramen out there. So, choosing the right place is important, and I asked a friend who’s a Jiro fan and has recently become addicted to Jiro if there were any Jiro-style places that are safe and friendly for beginners, and he recommended this place, so I’m heading there. [Music] Yay. But there’s already a line, Mondo-san. Wow, that was completely unexpected. I, I arrived 15 minutes early, and, um, I was sure I’d be number one, but I was actually number three. Well, now that I ‘ve learned how popular this place is, and feeling the tension of knowing the words, I finally stepped in. Yes. From here, we’ll buy samples and chant the first Kamon call. How about wild oil? Okay, vegetable oil, okay. Thank you. [Applause] I’m so tired at this point that I don’t even know what’s going on. Yes. Oh, there are eggs and various condiments on the table. Everyone is served one by one, and finally it’s my turn. Thank you. [Music] Thank you. I did. Wow, nice to meet you. So, it’s this glistening oil and a huge amount of chashu, and, oh, more oil. It’s coming. [Music] Well, honestly, it’s the size, but, um, I saw the first one and, um, I don’t get an upset stomach unless I have alcohol, so I’ll start with [Music] 180. And, you know, I’m a bit of an idiot here and I’m like, oh, normally you start with the soup. So, I started with the bean sprouts, and no matter what, it’s steamed. [Music] [Music] Oh, I discovered that you can steam it by putting a lot of garlic in your mouth, and oil is really sweet. Oh? That’s right. My friend from Jullia told me that I should add some soy sauce called “kaeshi” here, because I still can’t see, but with all the vegetables, oil, and kaeshi mixed together, it’s delicious, so I’ll just go for it. These chopsticks are so thick and heavy that I think they’d sell. Wow, this is what sashiwashi means. Sashiwashi. It’s my first time trying sashiwashi noodles, and I can’t even touch them. Hmm. But the taste is sweet. Sweet. Yeah. The sweetness of the wheat, the sweetness of the oil, and the strength of the garlic all come together and rub up with the noodles. I don’t know what to do. It’s like I’m going to get addicted, and it’s almost scary, like I’ve opened a forbidden door, and it’s oily. I’m also grateful that it comes separately ; you can pour it on top, or dip it separately like this and eat it. Like the garlic I mentioned earlier, being able to customize it yourself is what makes it beginner-friendly. Thank you for thinking that. [Music] Thank you. No, the staff were incredibly kind, and I couldn’t help but admire them, so I devoured the meat. Even department store cosmetics are amazing, their moisturizing power [Music] is amazing. Even though the pork was so thick, I didn’t even need my jaw. Have you ever eaten pork so tender you could chew it using just your upper and lower jaws? I haven’t. Until now, when I thought of meat, the only things that came to mind were yakiniku or steak, but now I feel like I can get some noodles for just a little over 1,000 yen , and my options have really increased. As the play neared its end, I decided to top off my order with the raw egg, and then I ate the noodles, enjoying them to my heart’s content. Who would come up with something that wouldn’t be done with regular ramen? Raw egg on ramen ? To me, the word “zero” is truly sacred. It’s a Japanese culture I’ve yet to discover. So, it’s a miracle that I’m here, experiencing this delicious culture, and I’m so happy. I’m still eating it, doing my best. Thank you. I mean, I’ve already eaten it. But they say it’s better to start with something a little unsatisfying. When I saw it, I really wanted to eat Jiro. I’ll do it. Well, there are many other Jiro-style restaurants after this one, so I’ll try a few more, but I’m really glad that Edmond’s was my first. I will. It was a really kind restaurant. It was delicious. Well, this might be familiar to Tyroleans, but I heard that apple juice is good for garlic, so I was thinking about drinking some and taking a leisurely walk home, and I’m walking along now. Yes. That was the story up until this point. Let’s go home. [Music] Oh, you can’t believe I came here to drink alone . Cheers. Yes. You can’t drink alcohol at Jiro. I learned that this is a bit of a drawback. Well, I guess it’ll be fine if I just go bar hopping like this. Oh, the vegetables I had just before were garlic, so I’m taking a walk around the Imperial Palace in front of Shinbashi Station with some saury. [Music] [Music] Sweet. Well, this was my first time eating Jiro-kei, and if I had to say something negative, I was a little too cautious. Yeah. I was eating slowly, so I had to hurry up so the food wouldn’t get too fresh. Maybe I was too concerned about that. Jiro, well , it’s delicious when you eat it, but the next day is terrible. My mouth misses Jiro so much that I look up Jiro-kei in the middle of the night. Ah, once you know life, you can’t go back to the person you were before. [Music] I guess now that I’ve really gotten to know Jiro, this Jiro life will never let go . That’s it.
