Seoul Vlog – Seongsu Shopping, Cafe & Tea Hopping (Gentle Monster, Haus Nowhere & more)

Autumn colors deepen in Seongsu Starting today’s walk at Daelim Warehouse So many new spots since my last visit A concept store full of taste, 29CM Home Stationery, accessories, living, kitchen all in one place I swear I’ll stop buying tote bags… yet here I am My obsession with keyrings never ends Still debating… should I get it? 🙂 Fun to finally try things I only saw online The home décor zone So many thoughtful little objects Picked up a few for gifts A corner of trendy kitchenware Playful dishes to make cooking more fun Even found the pinecone glass I saw at Bar Cham SABRE was on display in every color Stopped by the buttery scent of Jayeondo salt bread The line was long, so I’ll save it for next time A small lot filled with handmade shoe ateliers Quieter than busy Yeonmujang-gil, almost cozy Displays that make you pause at each item Ornaments that already feel like Christmas Ceramics with irresistible textures The calm vibe made browsing immersive No online shop—if you love it, buy it on the spot Inside, vintage furniture and quirky objets Next room filled with books and stationery Straight out of Pinterest, don’t you think? Crossing back to the east side of Yeonmujang-gil Curious auntie wondering who those boys on the screen are 🙂 Turns out, a pop-up for Japanese idol group Snowman Another pop-up right next to it In Seongsu, there’s never a dull moment Couldn’t just walk past NewNew—had to stop in First floor packed with glasses under ten dollars From trendy to classic, all styles covered My face is plain, so I love bold frames 🙂 Tried on a pair just for fun—only $3.50 Do I look smarter? 🙂 Loved trying everything without judgment Downstairs to pay, and another scene unfolds Prices so good, you feel bad leaving empty-handed They pack up your choice with a fresh pair Lost track of time browsing here Done bargain hunting—off to dinner! Just grabbing a slice of pizza In the basement of the new Thisisneverthat HQ A Japanese brand making American-style pizza As the name suggests, one slice at a time Served on paper plates, New York–style One slice costs about the same as a coffee Starting with a Coke! Ordered three slices—just in case I want more 🙂 Each slice as big as two palms Out of the three, pepperoni was the winner Not too much pepper But plenty of oregano Fold it to eat it the real way 🙂 All clear—time for a beer stop! It’s 8 p.m. on a weekday and still packed Before heading home, just one drink Starting with a perfect pour Makes me want to hop on a plane to Japan Beer and good conversation That first sip that cools you to the core! Final stop: Tamburins Always intriguing with experimental shows A smoking mushroom straight out of Alice in Wonderland Even Dior glowing late into the night Wrapping up our Seongsu date night 🙂 Time to start thinking about fall clothes Here’s a quick look at RRACE’s fall pieces I styled in Seongsu 🙂 This charcoal top is washed cupro chiffon—soft as air The scarf at the neckline ties or drapes effortlessly A calm shade that suits the autumn mood Paired with twill cotton trousers Double pleats make them versatile—casual or dressy Relaxed fit I’ll wear from fall through spring Morning at Seongsu Station Out exit 2, heading south for coffee Passing the new Musinsa HQ Into a small alley Opened in August But Champ Coffee feels like it’s been here forever Meeting a friend later, so no dessert yet Ordered their signature flat white Rich and nutty—classic latte house quality The reason I came so early to Seongsu! House NoWhere, Gentle Monster’s new HQ and retail space Exterior hints at brutalism Concrete mass that overwhelms you Checked out the outdoor art pieces too Inside, a giant dachshund in armor greets you This will become an Instagram shrine Did its ears just twitch? A staff member brushing its fur was quite a sight Had to take a souvenir shot Postponed exploring, rushed up to the 5th-floor teahouse Take the 3rd-floor freight elevator to reach it First stop: NUDAKE tea shop Fresh and stylish in both scent and design Perfect 50-dollar tea sets for gifting Teahouse reservations via Catch Table or on-site waitlist Unexpected pairing of lime green and deep purple So striking I can’t stop admiring Testing the aromas Choosing teas and desserts on a tablet screen Even fun to match with teaware Ta-da! I went with the Smoke tea and dessert set A black tea called “The Mafia,” caramel and cinnamon notes, paired with a cigar-shaped dessert My friend chose Peach Rosie to try their new teaware Having afternoon tea before lunch 🙂 Matcha cream wrapped in squid-ink pastry—cake called Peak Small Cigar dessert with kadaif, chocolate, and orange peel was right up my alley Too pretty to eat, thinking of all the work behind it 🙂 Gentle Monster conquering kitchens now too Minimal black lines and elegant curves—the Line collection More practical than expected A giant serving fork made me laugh 🙂 And the nail collection spotted at the teahouse Turns out those porcelain nail motifs are nylon plastic Perfect props for Halloween night The mini cutlery series impressed me most I thought they were actual crackers 🙂 Looked like a travel suitcase But inside—dessert spoons! Loved the pencil-detailed handles Felt the joy of playful, imaginative design Heading to the fragrance section New Sunshine perfume collection on display Inspired by a dog’s dream, apparently Even spotted their early hand creams And Attisu, Gentle Monster’s spin-off brand Shapes so new, they felt a bit unfamiliar 🙂 As bold and experimental as their eyewear Too avant-garde for me—just snapped a selfie Ten years strong with my Gentle Monster shades Like stepping into a sci-fi set Model? None other than Tilda Swinton Feels like gear for shooting lasers 🙂 Tried on everything with my friend—laughed nonstop More theme park than shopping mall Maybe this is what future retail looks like Even spotted a Margiela x Gentle Monster collab After wandering House NoWhere, it’s already 2 p.m. Headed to a nearby dongchimi noodle spot Simple, no-fuss lunch menu Met a drinking buddy—started with dongdongju Spicy dongchimi bibim noodles topped with perilla paste My friend chose chilled Hamgyeong-style dongchimi noodles Extra carbs with spicy kimchi dumplings No words needed—stop by if you’re nearby 🙂 September in Seoul Forest Shall we stroll down the café street lined with trees? Center Coffee still holding strong! The main street has changed a lot A red-brick café with a charming terrace Once it cools, terrace seats will be prime spots Exploring the alleys connected to Seoul Forest Stumbled upon a select shop The entrance pulled me right in A living shop showcasing Korean tableware artists A refined curation that delighted the eyes Perfect plates for grilled fish Love this kind of texture Even the glaze is beautiful This handle caught my eye A glass oil lamp reminded me of lab burners 🙂 Playful, almost scientific vibes Beyond ceramics, plenty of lifestyle goods to see Moroccan leather slippers—soft and light to wear And today’s self-gift An antique brass muddler! Time for a coffee break Found Milestone Coffee, famous for lattes A cozy café with an outdoor terrace As always, I ordered an iced latte 🙂 It’s only 1 p.m. and desserts are already sold out Packed with office workers on lunch break Tried their iced latte with banana bread Like pound cake, paired beautifully with espresso butter Enjoying a moment of calm Lunch at a spot known for fusion Korean I get hot easily, so I’m eating lighter these days 🙂 Ordered solo—soybean paste ssambap set Eight neat rice balls over savory doenjang Brushed with sesame oil—so nutty Can I really roll them this perfectly at home? Would be perfect for a Seoul Forest picnic Another day Met up with a friend for dinner Healthy set menus around ten dollars I had spicy pork, my friend got pollock roe bibimbap Portions were bigger than expected Meat first, fewer carb cravings later 🙂 Used to crave pasta—now rice feels more satisfying Heading back toward Ttukseom Station For afternoon tea A stylish space with a spiral staircase Voilà—on the 4th floor, a beautiful teahouse Reserved the 1 p.m. Tea Solology course Starting with a welcome tea: magnolia blended with chilled oolong The teaware was stunning Tasted pine nut candy, candied lemon, chestnut brittle Next, sparkling tea of hibiscus, rooibos, and lemongrass Second course: deep fermented black tea Tea foods vary by your choice Barley pudding and yokan wrapped in agar with iced tea I picked the monaka called “Swollen Dream” A mild dessert filled with red bean paste Third course: pick between green, black, or persimmon-leaf tea Watching the tea sommelier at work, zoning out a bit With soy cream And injeolmi coated in black sesame powder—pure comfort Paired with elegant yokan too Now, “Back to Reality” Closing with plum blossom tea, softly scented with cherry Loved trying it all with different teaware And I bound all the notes I collected into a little book
