HOW EXPENSIVE IS MYANMAR ( Myanmar’s Black Money Markets )

And your name is Haseena Oh Haseena so the price of Robi is US $ 250 per piece. In Myanmar, in Yangon, if you see the price of iPhone 16 Pro Max, it is around Rs 47 lakh. That too, if we buy 256 GB, this brand is around 1 litre bottle at US $ 430. So shots etc. are available here for Rs 8500 local charge. The bigger the note, the bigger the size of the MacBook Pro which is coming with 14-inch M4 chip. That is around Rs 3,20,000, I am talking about Indians brother. You will see the labour force of around 23 million in Myanmar country at present. Do you speak Hindi? Burmese, thank you so much. Tisu tire tisu timare. Half the population of this entire country is not able to earn even $1 per day . The external depth on Myanmar country is around $2.5 billion US dollars. So, you will get all these foods for ₹80-100. So, according to this, vegetarian food became expensive and non-vegetarian food became cheaper. India mainly does most of its business with Myanmar for animal products. Yes, you might be surprised to hear this. When I reached the airport, I came to know that they refused to give me entry here. Denied it. Good morning and welcome back to the new blog. I am Ansh and now I am in Yangon city of Myanmar country and today is my last day in this Myanmar country because tomorrow early morning, after exiting this country from here, I will fly to a new country which you are going to see in the next video. My overall experience of these days was that I spent more than 10 days in this country and I spent maximum of my time in Yangon. Because the situation right now is very delicate. From here I had planned to take you to Jiawadi and Mandalay and other different cities and show you around but due to civil unrest and military etc. I was not able to travel there and people refused me. I thought that in the present situation of this country, Myanmar is so cheap and expensive. How expensive it is especially in terms of tourism . And if any of you want to come here, then how cheap and expensive it is going to be. I am sure that very few people will come here to visit the way the situation is here. But still, I will also share my overall experience with you. So it is 9:30 in the morning and I have not even had breakfast yet. And I would recommend you guys not to stay in the hostel in which I am staying . Reason because here, there are many foreigners staying in this hostel. So because of this, it becomes a very recommended hostel . But if you look at it, it is being taken for granted. You will find many good hostels and hotels at a lower rate or at the same rate. Where you will also get 24/7 electricity and a decent breakfast and especially internet which I did not get to see in this hostel. Now you think, I was paying ₹ 3000 for a private room in this hostel where I am not getting water properly nor electricity nor internet and I have never had breakfast till date, these are the conditions of this hostel, so let’s start the day, but before starting, I would like to tell you some shocking facts about this country, if we look at the survey of 2024, then Myanmar has been counted in the list of one of the top 10 unstable countries of the world . At the same time, Yangon city has been counted in the top 10 most dangerous cities of the world in 2024 . The poverty rate in the country at the present time has reached around 32%. You can guess and nearly 1.5 million people, literally around 1.5 million people have become homeless from different states and regions of Myanmar. This is the situation in the country at the moment. When you come, you will get to see a lot of it especially in Yangon . Where everywhere on the road, you will see children, elderly, women sitting and lying on the road like this. At the same time, the unemployment rate here at the present time has reached around 3%. The people of Myanmar, around 36% of the population, do not have grid quality electricity yet. And you might be surprised to hear that around 38,000 villages, I am repeating guys. There are 38,000 villages in Myanmar even today where electricity has never reached. That means there is no electricity there. 60% of Myanmar’s population has access to good quality water i.e. clean water They don’t even have drinking water. This is the condition of Myanmar. Well, this has happened today. It was not like this from the beginning because during the British era, especially when it was Burma, before it became Myanmar, Burma was counted as one of the richest countries in the South East Asia region. This is because there are a lot of natural resources here. There is timber and oil here. Myanmar is considered one of the biggest exporters of ruby in the world . So, it used to be very rich due to all these reasons. But later, ever since it got independence, due to different situations, this country has always been unstable. Some or the other fights, quarrels and riots keep happening here. Everything has become very expensive. You will see the prices of goods fluctuating a lot and especially there are no jobs etc. And I thought that I will also purchase some souvenirs etc. if I get some because my luggage is 7 kg. So I cannot take more than 7 kg. Due to this I am not able to purchase any more stuff here. But I will try and if I get fridge magnets etc. then I will purchase them and it will also be a little memory because I don’t know when we will get entry into Burma again or not. So guys, this is our breakfast for today here which I have ordered, masala dosa and here they serve dosa etc. like this and its price is around 2504 if seen in local currency and the price of masala dosa is actually written as Indian Chef and this is the restaurant, it is actually written as Indian Chef. If I zoom in and show then the name of this restaurant is Indian Chef. But the main name of this restaurant is Neelar Biryani Kar. I will walk you down and show you. So I have come here two to three times especially for Masala Dosa. The reason is that the Masala Dosa here will give you the feeling of Aloo Paratha. So that’s why I always order it. But I have tried Masala Dosa in almost four to five restaurants at different places. So wherever you go here, the price of Masala Dosa is on an average 3500 local chaat and if you buy plain Dosa, then you will get it here for around 2500 local chaat. Apart from this, the Sambar here is very bad. But still I come here only to eat Dosa in the taste of Aloo Paratha and there is coconut chutney with it which you can see. Another thing, wherever you go to any restaurant in Myanmar, you will definitely get hot water to drink. You see this. So this is how I have taken hot water. So these people always keep boilers somewhere . Like here, they have kept it in front. So they will definitely give you hot water to drink. If you go to eat in other South Indian restaurants, you will definitely be given rasam there so that your stomach is clean. So I will show you what is the stuffing inside the dosa. So you see this. There is potato, a little bit and onion. This is the masala dosa here. And the quality of the sambar is different . It looks like the dal has been put in water and taken out and the water is left. But people come here a lot to eat biryani because this place is famous for biryani. So guys, our breakfast is over and you will find Eastern Money Land Changer written in front of the shop. So I had changed currency here once . The hostel owner where I was told gave me the right rates , otherwise you can go to this one. You will get the right rates here. So friends, while walking, I have just reached near a round about. See, in front, it is written KBJ Bank. And here are all these clothes shops etc. So if you want to do some purchasing etc. then you can do it here, I think . And t-shirts etc., look here trousers etc. are also available here. Shorts etc. are available here for 8500 local cha. If you buy a slightly bigger one, then it is around 17000. And if you see the shorts below, then it is also around 9500. Rest here are vests etc. All this is available here. These are all items. I think there are trousers etc. also. See. If you want to buy all these trousers, then around 11,500 local cha. This price will be displayed to you in Indian currency. T-shirts etc. These are all clothes. So anyway, a lot of clothes here, I told you, are local and mainly they are imported here from Thailand and China from different countries . Then these people sell them here. So you will find a lot of clothes etc. here. Well I think there is a very big market here. All Locals, even shirts are also locally made in Myanmar. Oh ok ok. So these are all the clothes. The shopkeeper is saying that all these clothes are made in Myanmar. I will show you the quality of these shirts. I like this shirt very much. You see, it is light but a little and they have also put price tags etc. on it. So I think these will be very good for summer etc. All these shirts and pants etc. if you want them for ladies, gents, I think they are 9000, 10,000, 15,000, 13,000 like this. This shop is very big. It is a very big market. Now like all these cargos etc. are for jeans. And these prices how much? 42,000. 42,000. Well, this is 42,000 rupees . Well, this cloth is thick. But I feel it is a bit expensive here. Mostly, wherever you go to their shops, the good thing is that you will find almost the same gender equality between male and female because the population of both men and women is considered to be quite close here, that is, you will find it quite similar everywhere, be it shops, restaurants or business commercial places, you will see people working in the same ratio . So, you can see the price of iPhone 16 Pro Max here in Myanmar in Yangon . It is around 47 lakhs. That too, if we buy 256 GB and 120 or 128 GB, then it comes to around 42 lakhs. Brother, the price is around double here. Think about the price of MacBook and iPhone in Yangon, I will show you that. MacBook Pro 14 inch with M4 chip is the 2024 model and this model will cost around 75 lakh local rupees with 512 GB configuration. So friend, this is Apple’s store inside this Junction City Mall. And just now after asking brother, I came to know that if you want to see the only Apple Store in the whole of Yangon and I think in the whole of Myanmar, especially in Yangon, then you will have to come to this Junction City Mall. Brother, the price of iPhone 16 Pro Max here is around 2 lakhs. And the MacBook Pro which is coming with 14 inch M4 chip is around ₹ 3,20,000 Indian, brother, you can guess how expensive it is from this. All these are so expensive especially because I think they must have to pay a lot of tax etc. At present, Myanmar country is counted in the list of one of the worst countries in the world. You have seen it literally for the last few months and I think for many years. The currency is fluctuating so much. Inflation is so high. Because of this all these situations have been created here. Going inside, there are some grocery items etc. in the supermarket and the prices of other items etc. I thought I should show that to you once . I think I had already shown you the price of the local market . But going upstairs, people come to the supermarket to buy other things . I will tell you the prices of those as well. So the economy of Myanmar is mainly dependent on agriculture. Around 50-6% of the GDP of the country comes from agriculture and around 35%, 35-36% is service industry and around 8% is industry. These are the main sectors that contribute to the economy of the entire Myanmar country. And mostly, as you know , there is rice, oil, Burmese steak which is found in abundance here. And ruby which is world famous is found in jet. So, right now I am on the second floor. I think I am on the third floor, if we count the underground floor. You will find shops of jewellery, gym, stone etc. in different parts of every city of Myanmar because there is a lot of it. And I think because of this, there is this instability in the entire country. There is so much fighting because everybody wants gold, silver, diamonds, rubies. The market place is called City Mart. So let’s go inside and see. What are the prices of vegetables, grocery, fruits, water bottles etc, eatables etc., I will show you that as well. And see what all is written here. Korean food, Chinese food, Myanmar, Vietnam and our India, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, the names of all the countries are written in such a way that I think you will find eatables related to all these things here. So I will show you the prices of vegetables etc. here. Anyway, this is super This is a market. In the supermarket, you get some things cheap and some things expensive. Now look at this coriander here. These are small packets of coriander which are available for 80 in local currency. This is mint and they have packed it in very small pieces . It is wrapped. It costs 307. If you want corn pieces, you will get it for 160. You can also look at chillies etc. 160 grams of green chilli costs around 97. Five cucumbers cost around 97 here. Brinjal etc., small brinjals are available in plenty here brother. The one you can see costs 600. Some vegetables are quite cheap here. I will show you the rest here as well. All these prices are written easily here. Garlic costs 87 for 100 grams. This piece costs 220. And here also the potato, this potato, I think 1 kg is around 3400 local chaat. This is a lot of papaya, green papaya is around 3500 chaat. The rest of it is found in plenty here, you see, 9000 pamelo, if you want to drink pamelo, its juice is quite good, so it is around 9000 chaat. The best I thought was that the pineapple here is quite juicy and very good and it is available here for around 2700 even outside, if you buy it, then it is as per piece, even outside I think 2000 2500 per piece you will get this pineapple in local chaat. The quality here is a little good. I found banana a little expensive here. You see wherever I bought it. Now this is a packet of full banana, the quality here you will get good because you will purchase it inside the mall. So see its price. I think it is around 2800. But there is also different quality in this. Here it is for 280. I think there are a lot of fruits here. These are tropical fruit juices etc. So, all this is also around 12,600. 1 liter of apple fruit juice. If you buy Coca Cola, you will get a can of Coca Cola for 1550 here brother. I think there is a whole drinks section here. You will find all the different types of wines etc. here. So I will also show you the prices of liquor etc. So look at this wine of Myanmar Red Mountain Wine of Myanmar. This is locally made and this is around 33,000 local rupees. So look at the price of water here, there are different brands. 450 is the starting price. I think this one is for 450 rupees. Here this one is for 500. This one is for 600. All these are different local brands here. Rest of our pulses, spices etc. are peanuts. So 300 grams of peanuts cost Rs. 3400. Rest of the chana dal etc. cost Rs. 2350. There are packets of 300 grams and 350 grams. All these items are from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 2500, 3000 and around 3300 grams . Look, this red chana is also for Rs. 2000. So the rice sacks of 121 kg cost around Rs. 48000. It is very difficult to find even veg noodles here. Right now you can see, I think one noodle is available here for around Rs. 84. This one is for around Rs. 1204. I will also show you the price of beer etc. So if you buy a can of Honey, look, it is for around Rs. 3100. The Tiger one is for around Rs. 2950. Chang Beer. You see, if you buy a big can of 500 ml, it costs 3500. There are all different types of breads. Their pricing is written differently. So look, a 200 gram bread costs around 2450. And if you buy a sandwich bread of around 400 grams, you will get it here for around 4100. So I just exited the mall and when you exit the mall, the Ongson Market here is quite famous. So I am thinking of showing it to you once. So look, they have made a cross walk of glass like this here. It is quite nice. I mean you will get to see all these things as well. So now I am going, friend, you will find Bog Yoke Ongson Market present here. This is its view. So it is called a very old market and it has been specially made keeping in mind the foreigners and tourists and at present you will see less locals here. You will see a lot of foreigners and tourists doing purchasing. If we talk about the labor force, then you will find around 23 million labor force in Myanmar country at present. On the other hand, if we talk about poverty below the line, then the population of Myanmar, as I told you, is around 55-56 million right now, so out of that, around half of their population is able to earn less than $1, around 0.76 cents per day, but on a daily basis, which comes to around 49% of the entire population. That is, in this entire country, Half of the country’s population is not able to earn even $1 per day. So from this you can guess what the situation would be. For now let’s take a tour of this market. This market was built in 1926, I think. Especially when the British era was there, so here you will get to see very beautiful pedestrian walking. The architecture of the building etc., you will also get to see almost colonial architecture here. So it is a very big market and you will find more than 2000 shops here . Mainly you will find a lot of shops of stones, jewellery. There are clothes here. Every thing, I think, whatever you want to purchase here, you will find every single thing here for shopping. Now look at all these big cloth stacks, all this is here. I think all this is related to ladies. And here look at this beautiful Myanmar Myanmar water festivals, so here I must have told you that these people also celebrate Diwali, Holi and all these festivals almost like we do, so something similar is celebrated here as well. Rest Golden Myanmar, all the different ethnicities of these, I think, have been shown here. For example, I told you about the Bamars, after whom this country of Burma or Myanmar was named. Then there are Shan, Kaya, Kain, Maun, Rakhe, Chin, Kachin. So these are all their ethnic groups, which together form the whole of Myanmar. Rest here also you see, it is beautiful Myanmar. I think these pagodas etc. which are their famous landmarks, all of them are present. Rest paintings are very lovely, beautiful. There are pagodas and children as well. Rest you will get to see a lot of things related to their local lifestyle here . You can see Buddhism and Christianity at one place. You can see many different types of shops here and there is a market inside as well. You can see the street outside which will look a little wide but all the shops inside are small lanes like this and you can see many shops inside as well. Actually you can see shops of local Chinese and Indians, that is, shops of Burmese Indians as well. So you can see mainly handicraft art work, jewellery, gem stones and paintings and if you want to buy AC series, some jewellery related items, clothes etc., you can see all these items in this market . You can see ruby jet and jewellery all over this market . Namaste, Namaste, how are you? Hindi Muslim Hindi you say Burmese Burmese ok ok ok so these people are actually people of Burma’s Burmese Islam i.e. Muslim community this is their shop India Mumbai India Mumbai oh namaste namaste friend didi is saying namaste and here I told you that the red ruby, a lot of people come here to purchase it so ok all this is here so all this is local all this what is this these stones are jade ok all jade is local Safaya which ruby is it in this ruby this ruby ok all this is ruby Safaya this red one that is visible is also ruby pure ruby ok this is also ruby Safaya Safaya yes ok Safaya this is Luthobus ok this is local here yes ok Luthopus yes Luthopus Luthobus ruby’s back of ruby javan khatbi ok jawan khatwa this is actually a whole ruby see it whole stone like it is pieces Safaya see its colour you see friend its colour is very cute very beautiful and Safaya ok this is Safaya look no it’s ok ok no problem ok ok thank you you see this whole thing actually what a beautiful beautiful colour it is oh wow look this whole thing actually it is completely handmade it is loved only then it is complete. It is quite colourful. And how much would their price be here? 100 dollars so brother one piece this which didi just showed you one piece as much as you can see how shining it is, there is a lot of shine in this one there is more shine and the red one has less this is more shining this is less I could not even see it, so look at this, its shine is very high in this and this is the price that didi told me. Look, 100 US dollars means around ₹8500 in India, let us assume it to be around ₹8500 and the red one, look at the red piece, this ruby piece is a little thick. Its piece is big, look at it, its pieces will appear a little big to you. Oh, actually people make rings of it, right? So that is why it will look like this to you. Look at this didi, it is a complete set like this. ok oh my god like this ok you see the difference between both of them ruby ruby price ruby dollar dollar oh so the price of ruby is 250 US dollars for one piece size ok big size ok uwa this is the biggest uwa ok I think these people are saying that this is the big size and the one for safaaya is the small size oh ok this wait yes wait its weight now wait and let me tell you how much it will come this times oh three times this look I think its weight has reached around four 4.05 this one this is 4 grams this is 14 this four yes this one ok this is around 2 grams this is safaaya and that of ruby is around three 3 four according to different quality sizes it is different. Yes, ZZ , Z, oh, actually these are zed, it is a jade stone, so look at all these different things, there is a lot of shining in it as well, so they have made complete rings etc. of all these, a lot of people come here to shop for purchasing, especially whether it is a garland, jewellery, locket, chain, you will see all these in abundance here, shop name Burma Ruby Jade and Jewellery, ok ok and your name Haseena, oh Haseena, very beautiful name, so look here also, fridge magnets etc. are there here as well. Hello Hello Namaste Namaste, so the name of the shop in front is I think, look at this, there are many souvenir shops here, if you want to buy photo frames etc., like this, look at these, paintings and this is a postcard, actually look at this here, it is a very cute and beautiful postcard, friend, look at this, beautiful Myanmar i.e. Burma, all the different things are present in it and the life style which used to be there in the old times and even now when you go to the rural country side areas of Myanmar, you will get to see this kind of life style there. What is here is that if you buy the whole leaf then it is around 20 pieces and they have told it to be around 3000 and if you buy this one single then it is around 1500 local and around 10500 so there is kitchen etc. but I think all these have been kept here for a long time, if you look at this, this is the entire map of Myanmar, I have thought a little bit that I should buy a fridge magnet, so I will ask them the price once, but the down area of Yangon is the city center area, the rest of the different regions of Myanmar, it is Mandale, yes, it is Bagan. Fridge magnets related to all of them are visible here. I will also ask them the price. So friend, I finally saw the fridge magnets that were visible here, so I have actually already purchased two fridge magnets from here which I liked. One fridge magnet is available here for around 5000 local. But if you ask for a little discount , I will give it to you here. So, I have purchased two fridge magnets here for ₹80 . It costs around ₹350. These are Myanmar currency notes, when Burma was under Japanese occupation in 1945, so all the currencies that were used at that time. So, these are all of them. You can see this. ₹10 is for 100. ₹10. Then here, there is ₹5. Here, there is ₹1. And it is also written. The Japanese Government is also written. Think about half rupee, it used to be around that time in 1945 and 1/4 of half rupee, here, you see, it is surprising that 1/4 also used to be there at that time and the remaining 10 cents is seven pieces, if you purchase it, then how much brother can you say? 50000 50000 so this is brother’s shop in 500 local chait, he is saying that if you want to purchase then you can take this one and along with this there is also a big one 30000 and if you want to take the whole bundle, then in 300 local chait we will give you this entire note here, so I think in the old times, all their leaders etc, their photos are printed here, you can see it in local Burmese, well everything is written in it, you can see it in this section . So the bigger the note, the bigger the size, gradually gradually see here In this way it has been getting smaller. This note is a little bigger. All the other notes are very small. So one is of 50 paise. Well see here also there used to be money. It is written onion. Price 2000 20000 so brother has finally said that you will get this note in its entirety for the last price and best price of 20,000 . So all these old stamps of theirs are also being sold by these people here. So they have said its price is I think 5000, that is, you can see it around ₹250 . So if you want to purchase it here as a collection then all these items will be available here in this market I think and I told you that you will get to see a lot of handmade items here. So in this way, whatever wood , wood etc. is found here, bamboo etc., bags , baskets are made using them, you will find all the handmade things here quite good. The quality is good but a little bit because the currency is so high and the price etc. here is a little bit tourist price because mostly you can see that locals come here very rarely. Mostly you will see foreign tourists coming here. So because of this, the price etc. has been kept according to them. All these slippers are made of wood. Wow, I think rubber etc. has been used in the sole etc. at the back. But look at the entire upper part, bamboo and wood, all of them have been cut and carved and used completely. Wow, this is quite nice, friend. If you want to buy such beautiful idols, then you can buy them of Lord Buddha and other different idols. Namaste Minglawa Minglawa, you can also purchase these idols here. Look, all these are handmade work and you will find them colourful and vibrant. Look at the pots and cups etc. If you want to keep tissue paper rolls etc., then boxes etc. related to all these things to keep money etc., yes, there are small pots, colourful pots are all made of wood and you will find all these items brother, look, they are quite colourful, so these were not like Shringardanis, small items, if you want to keep them, you can keep them in them, I think small items, in this way you will find holders etc. to keep pens etc. The rest of the idols are very cute, very beautiful. All of them are polished here . They are handmade. So the price of all these is also different. I don’t want to buy much right now. That’s why I am not asking much price from these people. Actually now see this section in the lane where I have come. I think if you look at the line here, mostly jet, jewellery, ruby, that is, all these related items, you will find all these items in the entire line on both sides, right hand side as well as left hand side, you will find mainly jewellery related items here. Rest this market is called one of the largest and lively market of the whole Yangon, that is, lively market where you will find all these stones, juices, thank you, thank you, thank you, so friend these people are so sweet, so welcoming, so caring, whenever you go to their shop, these people will greet you and welcome you in this way, it feels very good, rest as I told you that here like this there is jade, sapphire, ruby. You will get to see many things related to all these. The prices of all are different here . And all these pieces are displayed here according to the quality and quantity. And it is a very big market. If you look at the entire section, from here onwards, wherever you look, it is a big market. So it is called the largest and the most lively market of Yangon . This started in 1926. And when it started, it used to be a very small part at that time. There used to be a small rest area for the traders, especially those who used to pass through here for trading at that time , where the people living in the surrounding areas and at that time when the caravan etc. used to pass, people used to come here and trade etc. Because of that, you will get to see this entire market. And one more thing, as I told you, you will get to see many shops here, around more than 2000 shops. You will get to see the owners of many of those shops here, who are the origin Chinese living in Myanmar. Because of which the names of their shops etc. are also available in Burmese language as well as in English. You will find it in Chinese language as well as in all three languages. For example, see here, it is written Win Win Jade and Jewellery. And it is a government registered shop. This will also be written here where you will see people shopping in this way . You will find it at many places here . In front, Golden Mamer Jewellery is also written in Chinese language. In this also, if you see, Tai Ong Gold Smith is written in English as well. It is in Burmese as well as in Chinese. Here also, the sellers sitting in the shop, that is, the local workers, are all local Burmese. But the majority of the owners here, you will find the shops of all the Chinese people living in Myanmar i.e. Burma. Especially in the jewellery section, there are a lot of Indians, that is, Burmese Indians, who you will find a lot in this business. You will find one of the best stones here. Look, you will find their quality also different in this way. Oh hello hello Minglava Minglava so all these cute people are wearing thanaka, this is also the name of this shop, see it is written like this, there are different shops here, all these paintings are made of glass, see they have made it in different shapes and it shines a lot, this market is so big. So big that I think I told you that you will find 1.5 to 2000 shops here. But there are only sales people in all the shops. I think you will find almost 0% customers here. You see the whole market is lying empty at this time. I think you will hardly find anyone here who is coming for purchasing, shopping at this time. Because brother the economy is such, there is a crisis. The currency is fluctuating so much everywhere, inflation is so much. So because of this the business etc. is pretty much at a standstill. Shopping has reduced a lot here at this time. All these clothes are local Burmese fabric. I must have told you that the men here wear lungi here more. You will find women wearing them too. So in that way, you will find a lot of their local fabric here . Like these ones. Look , the quality of everyone’s clothes is also very good and all are printed and colorful . Some are terrycot, some are cotton. Cotton is also there because there is a lot of it. So import export cotton also plays a big role here. So because of this, you will find these clothes here. Look, here at one place you will find Lord Ganesha, here look at Christianity and Buddhism religion of Myanmar, the Buddhist culture’s pagoda etc., you will find all these things at one place . So this is the beauty of Myanmar. Rest, these tribes here are very popular. So you will find these people in large numbers in the border areas of Thailand and Myanmar. Their specialty is that their necks are quite large and you can see it in this way where they wear a rod made of metal around their neck, which is why they are known as a long neck tribe. So you will find them in both Myanmar and Thailand. We cannot visit that region in Myanmar, that area which is quite restricted. But if you go to Thailand, you will get to experience that in Thailand. I think when we go to Chang Riai or Changmai, a little above all those areas, we can see this tribe there. Timing of the market open and closing time open and closing time 9 am 5 pm okay okay and so this and your name your name is a r a r or a very big name but this friend just now I met a sister at her shop I had come so she was actually showing me clothes so mainly whatever clothes you go inside this shop and in the whole shop you will find mainly made in Myanmar i.e. made in Burma . You will find these clothes mostly from different regions of Myanmar from Mandalay, Bagan and also from China’s states regions and cotton is used a lot here. Because you will also find cotton here in Myanmar . Like all these clothes. This is also cotton right? Yes. Cotton cotton. And this one you see, this one of theirs, on this they told that the printing that you are seeing is natural leaves They have got it printed on it. You can also call it eco printing. And this fabric is very light. It is very light and this one is good. If you see it in summer, I think according to the heat, then this one is of very good quality for that. And this also has different printings. And what is the price for this? This one is 30,000 and this one is 15,000, well, in the 3 local currencies of theirs, you will get one piece like this and they have said that it is around 15,000. Rest of it is also from Thailand here. All these clothes that you are seeing here are all Made in Thailand. So a lot is actually imported from Thailand here. Because you will get to see many people from Thailand here. So the people of Burma, they like to wear the local Burmese traditional clothes, all these clothes are like this and specially the females, here I told you whether they are males or females, they wear the lungi and what you said, the local language for lungi for male, for me perso for lady is thme thme, so this is actually the way in which the women and men in Burma tie the lungi, you will get to see it here, but thank you, thank you so much, in your local language these people say, yaar, this, I was talking about this, see, this is their way of wearing it, they wear it by rolling the entire lower part like this, wow, the rest of this is not of India here, you will find a little bit of Chinese as well, but mostly you will get to see it from Burma and Thailand only, thank you, thank you [praise] so you see , there is no guarantee as to when and at what time it will rain in Burma . Because of this, you must always carry an umbrella with you . So look, I have taken one. Brother, no matter what weather you come here in, you have to bring an umbrella. Keep this in mind. You can see that the rest of the market is so big. But looking at the entire market, you might not feel that Myanmar is really so poor or the situation is so bad. Everything might look okay from outside. But the buyers here who buy goods are so few. Just imagine how low the footfall is. Where there are 1.5 to 2000 shops here to sell goods and how few buyers you will find here . Currently, the local people also call this market as General Market . So, I think it is almost lunch time . Because of this, you can see that many people are sitting here and having lunch etc. According to the survey of 2022 and 23, the external depth of Myanmar is around 12.5 billion US dollars. Now you guess that 2025 2026 is coming. So how much will be the external depth here at this time? And if we talk about Myanmar’s business and trading partners, then the maximum business and trade in Myanmar is with China. Around 36% of China trades business with here. Along with this, Thailand is at second place, which you will see around 13%. Then there is Germany. Then there is Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and many other neighboring countries like this and including our India. If we talk about India’s trade with Myanmar, then India has exported around 700 million US dollars to Myanmar in 2023. So there is a good business and India mainly does most of its business with Myanmar and most of it is animal products. Yes, you might be surprised to hear this but India exports a lot of animal products to Myanmar. The second most important is pharmaceutical medicines which come to Myanmar from India and then all the parts of automobiles etc., all the parts related to railways, vehicles etc., cotton also comes in large quantities to Myanmar from India. So these are some of the items that India exports to Myanmar and imports here too because as I told you, there are a lot of gem stones etc., so all this gets imported to India. So right now I have come to the main road outside this market. So here you can see like this, there are different passages. There is a federation street where you can walk and roam around this entire market in a very good way. And brother, it is raining quite heavily here right now. So yaar bhai, we have visited the market and inside the market you will actually find both types of things i.e. original as well as fake and duplicate and second copy and you will also find both the prices here. One is normal price and one is tourist price. Mostly you will get tourist price only because after exploring the whole market I showed you that there are almost zero tourists here and local crowd does not come here at all. So this market has been designed keeping tourists in mind and but you will find almost zero tourists here. Rest is good. It is fine for purchasing sofas, veneers etc. You can go and purchase. Rest I am taking you around the whole place with this small umbrella. So actually here their central railway station is right next to it. At present, I have not been able to go to any other city except Yangon, but let ‘s go to the railway station and see how their station looks, I will show that to you once . If I get a chance, I don’t know if I will be able to record there or not . At present, foreigners are not allowed to travel by train in the entire country. Apart from this, in front is The Pizza Company and next to it is Central Hotel, inside which you will get food and drinks and there is also a bar inside. This hotel is also quite big and next to it is this whole tower in front, I think I must have shown you in the previous video. Brother, Starbux and Macdi are actually not in Myanmar . So , you will not find all such international chain outlets . Anyway, I showed you the showroom of Apple and this is called The Pizza Company. This is also present. But what else do you call Starbux? I think Macdi etc. are not here. There is KFC here, I had seen it inside the mall. If we talk about Myanmar’s relation with India, then our relation with Myanmar has been very good from the beginning . Especially India is helping Myanmar in many road constructions here. It is helping in railway tracks. It is helping in hydro power plants. Tata company has assembled a heavy turbo truck plant here. And the Indian government and Indian embassies have also provided a lot of help here . Especially in schools, colleges, medical line, pharmaceutical, India has been helping Myanmar a lot in all these industries from the beginning. Because of this, our relations with Myanmar have been very good from the beginning. And anyway, our North East region, many states of the North East region, especially Manipur and Nagaland, have many such remote villages where you will find people from Myanmar and Burma in many cities in this entire North East region. Especially in Nagaland, you must have heard about Longwa Village. When I travelled in 2017 , I had also gone there. I have been back to the Sakora Tower area in the downtown area. This square is quite big. So their railway station, I think it is somewhere around here. Myanmar Railway Booking Office. This is the building. Let’s go inside and see what the atmosphere is like. So this is their railway ticket office. I think local people will get tickets etc. here. So this is the railway station inside Yangon. And I think tickets etc. are available here . You see this is the condition of the railway station in Burma, in Yangon, if you look, the entire platform is lying empty. So the tickets etc. that need to be purchased for traveling by local train inside Yangon are at this place where I have just come. So this is how some of their ticket counters are. You can see this, there are small rooms and the display there mentions the timings etc. which train will go where on which day and if you want to purchase train tickets then local people can buy train tickets from here like this, see here all the local people are purchasing train tickets here. So the railway station is completely flooded with water. You see this is the condition of the platform here in Yangon, there is water everywhere and the entire station is lying empty. You will not see anyone far and wide. You can see this. There is a net all around. It looks as if we are in jail. What is this building? This looks very beautiful. It is right next to this Sakura Tower. It looks very beautiful. All these are very old buildings. Asia Laza Hotel is visible in front. You see this building. All this is in downtown. If I go a little further, the whole China Town will come. And this is the entire parking area of the area around the railway station. So brother, I had gone inside to ask for tickets . So I turned off the cameras there because I was thinking that there should not be any unnecessary issue. So inside there, brother, they said that tickets are not allowed to foreigners and no local train will also run. If you want to go, then you can take a bus and go wherever you want from here. So friend, this is a small shopping mall near Sule Square which I showed you, so I thought of going inside it to see what all experiences you will get. So here also, if you want to buy a SIM card etc., then inside this also I think the best option is you will get it here. This Tom’s is here. Rest there are some cafes etc. for jewelry and food. If you want to have drinks etc. coffee etc. then look here Coffee and Tea. Lafe, you will find chain outlets like this . If you want to have tea, coffee and all these drinks here, then you will get them. The rest are bakery items, bags etc. I also got to see a Rolex shop here. Well, there are actually a lot of colleges here. Look at this school, SSD Canada High School Diploma and all these things related to this program are also present here. So in this mall, I think mostly there are schools, colleges, offices and one or two restaurants in front of the bakery, see Tom Yong Kung Thai Restaurant and Cuisine, if you want to eat Thai food, you can come here. This is the restaurant in front, I will zoom in and show you. So if you want to try Thai cuisine here, you can come to this restaurant in the Sule Square mall. So in the lower part of this Sule Square mall, the ground floor, that is, the underground floor, there are a lot of food shops there, if you want to eat something, I think it is good for that. They have built a complete food court type thing downstairs. This is quite good. Think how close it is to this. So if you want to try King Kong Fried, you can come here and try all the different flavours. Now see, all the items are kept here. Yes, and I think they have fixed the price for all of them as well. So, Myanmar is heaven for non-vegetarians. I can say this. Whatever different types of food you want to try, you can come here and try them. See, they have fixed the price for all of them as well. So, on an average, if you see, 1800, 2200, 2000, 1500, 3600, 2500, 1800, 1500, 2400, 3500, then mainly you will get sea food only. It includes luster, prawns, fish, chicken. Other meat items, beef, perk. You will get all these things. Look, there are vegetarian items as well. I think if you want to try tofa etc. then you will get all these here like this and this concept of stick is quite big. So in this way you will get everything in them. So I think this is good and the price is also not too high. It is quite reasonable. Meaning 10,000 is ₹40 so in 80 ₹100 you will get all these food items. So according to this, vegetarian is expensive and non-vegetarian is cheaper. You can see here whatever 18100, 1800 means you think that less than ₹100. Oh brother this shop looks quite good. I saw vada in front. Is it an Indian shop? And see it is also written Erwan Viro Hathi and vada in front. I saw our sambhar vada here. Let’s see if there is something to eat or drink then I can try it. We also check their menu once to see what all is there. But everything is written in the local language. English is not written anywhere. All the items are written in Burmese language. For now see this, laddu, samosa and vada and I think tikya, all these items are there. Brother do you have English menu? English. No English menu. Why brother? Indian food? Indian food? Dosa you have veg now I don’t know if there is veg or not here veg vegetarian brother vegetarian no meat no meat no no oh they are these people are able to speak English also, I ask sister vegetarian no no no no no this I am eating vegetarian. Burmese curry? Yes. And will you give me rice? Yes. And how about this is vegetable. Only vegetable? No meat inside. Yes. Are you sure? Yes. Okay. Babu. This this this item this. Yeah, yeah. Vada vada? Yes? This is this is this is fried. Fried? Yeah. Oh, okay, ya, that’s one medu vada and dal, you don’t have curry, curry, dal, Indian dal, Indian curry, so this is not available, so it’s an Indian restaurant or Burmese restaurant, this is Burmese, Burmese style , or puri, puri, you know, puri, dosa, no, this is not India, okay, your name, my name is you . Oh, friend, nice to meet you. So, she is able to speak English quite well. And all these are staff members. So, actually, friend, seeing my medu vada and these samosas, I thought that maybe we will get Indian food here. But she told me that all the menu displayed here is cooked in Burmese style and mainly it is all non-vegetarian. Chicken, I think, meat, beef, all this is theirs. Rest this is an item which is veg and I think this is veg chicken fish or fish or this is fish oh fish no no no so I think mainly this is egg. This is chicken chicken curry. Chicken curry or fried chicken curry ok ok this is or me vegetarian yes oh friend but the restaurant is quite lovely the singing arrangement etc is here you can sit and eat and drink this is their reception rest this is the branding here and if you want to buy chips papad etc frimps etc then look here you will get it here like this seeing the laddus and samosas in front I thought that brother you will definitely get Indian food to eat it felt quite nice ok thank you thank you so this is the cafe Amazon so there is also this cafe etc. sitting here. Rest there is also for shopping here. Look like this if you want to purchase bags etc. there are discounts etc. also going on here . There is discount of around 30% 35% on all these shops. So see, at some places the non-veg items are quite cheap. At some places the non-veg items are a little expensive. Children have also been taken care of. They have installed all the things here for entertainment etc. I saw this a lot in China. Well, here also, to entertain the children, see, people try their luck everywhere like this. So put a coin in and if you get lucky, this baby will become yours. I had also tried it in China, but I had got a cosmetic product, but you will find this at many places and the price here is, I think around 1000, you will do it on the local chart and then after that you can play it and if it gets stuck, then that doll will become yours, oh wow, see, this guy, brother, the couple has won two each, yes, they tried two. I think they have taken out both . Now brother, they are trying again to take out the score again. You will find this craze in the entire South East Asia. Where people keep playing like this and keep winning, keep winning. The rest is Jojo Hotspot in front. This is a very big food court in front. And in front is the Market Place by City Mart which I think was like the one inside Junction City Mall . Almost similar is present here as well. Oh, there are perfumes etc. here too. Look at this Midnight Change. I think I don’t know if this is local from Burma or from somewhere else. But there are all different types of perfumes. Hello brother. Hi. So this is from Myanmar and from where? Local and from Thailand? Thailand. This is all Thailand? No brother. So its price is around 38,500 local Chait, this perfume brother is available here. So I thought of telling you the prices of perfumes etc. while I am at it. Thank you brother. The rest brother, the culture of couples is very high here . So every brother keeps gifting each other. So people keep gifting flowers etc. to each other in this way. So you will get to see this a lot. I think this is related to some office. [Music] So guys, you can see right now that it is around 12:30 at night and I am at Yangon International Airport Terminal 1 and when I came to the airport, I was not getting entry. It was very difficult. There were a lot of problems. So here in Yangon, brother, in Myanmar, in the duty free shop, if you buy three bottles of Black Label etc., then you will get it for 117 US dollars . The original price is around $138. You can see this. There is also blended whisky here. So all these are actually on display here. And Its promotion is going on right now. You can see the price of all these as well. You will get this one for 55 US dollars. And this is for around 1 liter. Its price is around 46 US dollars. Here you will get Johnny Walker Red Label for 28 US dollars. So brother, liquor is quite cheap here in duty free. I don’t know whether it is cheap or expensive. You guys tell me by commenting. Here this brand is around 430 US dollars for 1 liter bottle. So this is the entire duty free shop which I think you can see is lying empty. Right now there is nothing here. But mostly if you want to purchase this watch etc. then there is a discount of up to 80% on it here. Apart from this, there are some souvenir items as well. If you want to purchase something here, then you can purchase it. So guys, it is about to be 5:00 in the morning and I am at Yangon International Airport inside Myanmar and finally I have got my boarding pass. Immigration has been cleared. Customs etc. everything is finalized. So guys, now I will tell you my whole story. So I reached here at 9:30 in the night because there is curfew here from 12:00 pm to around 4 am. So because of that and my flight is around 6:30. So because of this I thought that it is better to leave in the morning especially during curfew time in the night time in 2-2 hours and the check in etc. that happens here, their military army does a lot of checking etc. even at night time. Even when I had left the hostel at 9:30, even then there were a lot of people standing everywhere at the check post. So to avoid that, I was thinking that instead of going in the morning, I should leave at night. I will have to wait at the airport. Anyway, my internet service at the hostel was not working, Wi-Fi etc. So I thought I will go and relax at the airport and there will be no tension of leaving early in the morning. So, for this reason, I came at night and came by taxi, around ₹00 local charge, that is, I paid 1200 Indian rupees for the taxi. When I reached the airport, I came to know that they refused to give me entry here . They said that according to the airport timings, no flights fly for 4 to 5 hours at night. So, due to this, the security people will not let you go inside. So, I kept requesting them using Google translate because they do not know English. So, for this reason, I tried to convince him with the help of Google Translate that my flight is due and I have to reach 3-4 hours before the international flight anyway. So he said no, you go out. You go back and get a hotel and come after 4:00 in the morning and you will not literally believe that I had saved all the local currency of Myanmar, 300 to 35000, almost 400 Cha, out of which I paid 300 for the taxi and I still have 10,000 left. So I thought that I had calculated in this way that I would be able to reach my destination according to this. So if I had gone out now, I would not have had money for the taxi and if I had taken it back to the hotel, I would not have had money. So I explained all these things as well. For half an hour we kept discussing like this and finally I talked to Myanmar International Airlines, whose flight I am flying in, for two to three days . I saw their staff. So I requested them that my condition is such and such and these people are denying me. So they said that this is the airport rule, whatever the security officer here is telling you, you have to follow it. So I said that all that is fine but now I will go at night, curfew will already start now and neither will I get a taxi nor will I be able to go anywhere. So they said no no sir you will have to wait. Such is the situation. You go out and then we cannot do anything. So brother I insisted even more, requested that please let me go, let me stay. I will not do anything. At least I will sit. I will not even sleep at your airport. So I was saying no, no, after 1 hour of hard work finally they agreed and I was given this section where I was sitting and recording the video. I was giving you all the details sitting here, so you can imagine that I was literally sitting here from 10:00 pm till 5:00 am after all this discussion. The good thing was that the washroom etc. was on the outside and what’s more, you can use the internet only for 30 minutes. You can use it and extend it again for the next 30 minutes. So, if you are inside the airport for the whole day, you will get access to total Wi-Fi for only one hour at the international airport. So, keep this in mind as well. So, now finally, I cleared the immigration. I got the boarding pass etc. and I will tell you about the next country I am flying to in my next video. For now, this was my exit experience from Myanmar. Immigration etc. was quite smooth. They gave me the departure card again to fill which has to be given to the immigration officer, so I filled it and gave it to them and the stamping on my passport for exit from Myanmar has been done. So, now, I will also tell you that if you are coming to Myanmar, then the overall budget that you are going to spend, especially what I spent, how much it is going to be around. If we talk about the entire travel expense, then first of all you need a flight. So for Myanmar, the best way is to fly from Delhi and Kolkata. On an average, the direct flight to Myanmar will be very expensive. You will get a round ticket here for around 3000. But if you check this from Delhi or Kolkata many times, then you can get it for around 7 to 8000, 10000, 13000 or even 14000. Depends on the situation and at what time you are booking. And after coming here, I think the best way would be to come from Thailand. Here you will get a one way flight for around 5000. If you come from Thailand. Like I myself had come here from Thailand . And the visa for Indians here is 50 US dollars. That is, you can assume around 4500 Indian rupees. You can assume that the taxi from airport to city center and city center to airport will cost around 1000 to 1200 Indian rupees. This is what you are going to pay. I had not bought a SIM card. For the whole trip, I would recommend you to buy a SIM card only when you land at the airport . Here, for around 25,000 to 3,000 local charges, you will get a good 20-25 GB internet for 30 days and calling facility as well. So, buy a SIM card at the airport itself. I would definitely recommend this to you. You will have to change the dollars here to use the local currency here because you will need the local currency to buy the SIM card and to take the exit taxi etc. So don’t withdraw money from ATM, bring change of dollar notes and get around 10, 20, 30 or $50 changed at the airport because here you know there are two rates, one official and one black market rate, so when you go to the city which is the black market rate, you will get a good rate, so because of this here you have to reduce only the SIM card and to go from airport to city center, as per my experience in the rest of the country, if you travel by local bus, then 10 to ₹20 will do your work from one place to another, hotels are expensive here, hotel, hostel, whatever you take, everything is expensive brother and what has happened here now, some time back when people came here for a visit, it was a little cheaper at that time but now it has become more expensive here because now these people, all the people who own hotels and hostels, everyone is calculating the rates here , they are calculating around more than half. So because of this here hotels and hostels will be very expensive for you. Just think about hostels, you may get 12100, 15-1500 per day per person per night without any breakfast, and they don’t give anything in the name of breakfast here. So I will definitely tell you that if you take a private room, then brother you will not get it for less than $2 thousand $3000 Indian. These people will show you $30 $40 and then they will tell you that here you are because when you convert it into black market rate, you will get double the rate. So sir, this is why we are charging you so much. Hotel people will tell you this here. For now, if you do side scenes here then it is around ₹00 to ₹1000, it is free at some places, expensive at some places, at some places there is an on an average charge, so you will feel that food is quite cheap here, whether you eat veg or non veg, mostly I have eaten only South Indian or Indian food, you will get thali etc. in the range of 3000 to 5000, also if you eat dosa etc., chole bhatura, puri, sabzi, all this will be available to you for around 3000, two and a half to 3000, four to 5000, 6000, if you also add tea etc. then maximum your entire food and drink will be in the range of 7 to 8000. This is going to happen inside Myanmar. So this was a basic expense. I think roughly I will count the flight, if I don’t include it then I spent only 240 US dollars in total for 12 days here. I stayed in this courtyard in all 12 days. I rested for some days. I edited videos for some days and just travelled for some days. And it was raining so much that I was stuck for some days. So whatever I spent in total, I got exchanged around $20 at the airport itself. Then after that I went to the city and got the exchange done. Then again I spent $120, so roughly I have spent $240 US dollars on the entire trip after coming inside the country. And this includes separate expenses for flight and visa. So according to this, if you add the total, then this much money will be spent here if you are staying in Myanmar. The rest of the experience was quite good and today finally it is time to exit from here and I hope you guys have enjoyed the whole series. 6. Myanmar is considered a poor and one of the least developed countries in Southeast Asia, with a significant portion of its population living below the poverty line. Its poverty is driven by decades of political instability, ongoing civil conflict, economic mismanagement, corruption, and isolation, which have hindered development despite the country's natural wealth.

  7. आपने थोड़ी ग़लत जानकारी दी।

Starbucks and Pizza Hut have operations in Myanmar, with Starbucks having an Instagram presence and Pizza Hut having several locations in Yangon listed on a directory. However, McDonald's is not present in Myanmar.
