中古の軽バンで日本一周、ついに沖縄県に上陸しました…!!

Hey guys, it’s Yuuka! I finally set foot in Okinawa! Can’t believe my Japan trip has brought me all the way here. I came by ferry during a typhoon—it was wild. But hey, I actually made it, so yay for me! So today’s budget is… $33 Kinda a tight budget, but I’ll make it stretch smartly and squeeze every bit of fun out of Okinawa. Alright, no letting my guard down until the key’s out. Let’s gooo! Last night I got to Naha New Port by ferry, and this morning I was just out driving around. Now I’ve come from Naha to this spot called Busena Marine Park. Pretty cool, right? Yesterday there were like three typhoons brewing, so when I heard they were gone I was like, “Yesss!” but nope, another one showed up. So yeah, I’m kinda worried about the weather today. But hey, I call myself a sunshine girl, so we’ll be fine. Gonna pray hard just in case though. Oh! There’s a beach too! That’s awesome. Even with this gloomy weather, the beach still looks so pretty. And there are lots of people out playing too! Looks like it costs $6.60 to get into the underwater tower… I totally thought it was free. Oops… Since my budget’s only $33 today, and I wanna see other places too, I think I’ll skip this one. I’ll just enjoy it from the outside. See that white tower over there? From there, you can actually go down without diving and check out what’s going on underwater. But sadly, not today for me… *If I’d paid the $6.60, I could’ve seen this view* Since my budget depends on your likes—1 like = $0.01— make sure to hit that like button right now! Pretty please! Alright, so once again— no letting my guard down till the key’s out, let’s roll! It’s finally starting! The Okinawa chapter! I’ve been wanting this for so long. But honestly, getting to Okinawa is kinda tough, so I kept hesitating. But I finally made it here! Right now I’m basically in the middle of Okinawa. They just opened this new place called Junglia nearby, so I thought the roads would be packed, but surprisingly, not at all. I got here super smoothly. Driving all the way to Okinawa did take a lot of time and money, honestly. But I’m really glad I brought Papa Clipper with me. I mean, what’s the point of a Japan road trip if I don’t do it properly in this car? So yeah, super happy I could drive my own car here. Papa Clipper’s my buddy, after all. No way I’d leave him behind. Last time in Miyazaki and Kumamoto my budget was over $66, so it felt pretty luxurious. But this time compared to that, it’s more of a broke-girl trip. Still, saving money is kind of my hobby, so I feel like I can totally make $33 work today. *I actually researched and made a game plan for this.* The last time I came to Okinawa was maybe two years ago, on a trip with my sister. I even filmed a YouTube video then— probably uploaded it back in my early days. We rented a car that time, and my sister did all the driving, so today’s actually my very first time driving in Okinawa. *Now that I realize it’s my first time, I’m suddenly nervous.* Before that, I came here on a family trip, and before that, for my school trip. So this is actually my fourth time here. But honestly, Okinawa is fun no matter how many times I visit. Wow, that tunnel was long. Seriously, such a long tunnel. Okinawa means Yanbaru! Yaaay! Back in high school on my school trip, I went snorkeling and visited the Blue Cave. I think I got about $66 in pocket money back then. Today’s just $33, so even less than my high school budget. Forget upgrading… I’ve actually downgraded. This video is actually the last of the Okinawa series. So what did you all think of Okinawa? I think I uploaded like five videos, right? Which one was your fave? Wait—you did watch all of them, right? *If you didn’t, I’m totally in the red, so please watch!* And let me know in the comments which one you liked the most! We’re almost at our first stop, Kouri Bridge. Kouri Bridge connects Nago City and Kouri Island, and it was built in 2005, so it’s celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. It’s actually the second longest bridge in Okinawa. Oh! Isn’t that it? I can see the bridge now. That’s Kouri Bridge. It’s super popular, so lots of cars here. I’m so excited! Wow… The ocean is insanely beautiful. Feels like I’m driving right over the sea. Such a unique Okinawa drive. I’m loving this. From the bridge you can see the ocean on both sides— it’s like a tongue twister to say. Wow… it just keeps getting prettier. This bridge is actually pretty long. Oh right, it’s the second longest in Okinawa. So glad I could share this view with Papa Clipper. He must’ve been tired from the long trip here, so this is like a refresh for him too. This bridge is free to cross, so yay, didn’t spend any budget here. Can’t believe such a beautiful spot is free. So generous, right? Wow… It’s “chura” (beautiful) for real. Aww, everyone looks like they’re having fun playing in the ocean. And that’s the end. That was so much fun. Papa Clipper got to see this view too— he’s super happy. *Pretty sure his fuel efficiency just improved by 30km.* Open! Taking a quick break. The ocean is right there, and it’s gorgeous. I parked at the Kouri Bridge lot, and being able to rest in the back like this is one of Papa Clipper’s perks. Honestly I’d love to eat and drink here at the table, but… budget says nope, so I’ll pass. I’ll chill a bit here, then head off to another Okinawa must-see spot. Okay, short break first. Byeee! I’ve arrived at Churaumi Aquarium. It was only about a 20-minute drive from where I just was. Closer than I thought! Alright, let’s go in—Churaumi Aquarium! Chura-chura~ One adult ticket is $14.50. Oof, that’s kinda pricey… But I really wanna go, so I’m buying it anyway. *Almost bought a kids’ ticket by mistake, but I held back.* Got it! Whale shark! So cute. No wonder this is Okinawa’s top tourist spot. There are more people than fish here. *Feels more like a land-quarium than an aquarium.* One of Japan’s biggest aquariums, up in northern Okinawa.
Its massive tank with whale sharks and manta rays is the highlight. Wow. That tank is HUGE. There’s a fish with horns. Bet it hurts if you bump into it. *Well duh, of course it hurts.* Look, look! It’s so tiny but Nemo’s hiding in there. Even Churaumi has Nemo. Omg look at this cutie. It’s a lionfish! So far this one’s my fave. *As soon as I said that, it came over like fan service.* Garden eels!! Too cute. I absolutely LOVE garden eels. New favorite unlocked. Garden eels take the #1 spot. Okay, time to check out the Shark Research Lab. I wonder if the whale shark’s there. So excited—gonna see my very first whale shark in real life! Whoa… this is the biggest tank of all. So many fish swimming together. I wonder if I could sneak in without anyone noticing. oh There it is—the whale shark…!! OMG… my first time seeing one! It’s HUGE. I’d only seen it in Animal Crossing before, but in real life it’s insanely powerful. Wow… Okay, I’m giving it a name. Zameme. Zameme Zameme Zameme! Covered in little white spots (…?) But apparently it already has a real name. Looks like it’s actually called Jinta. But Zameme works too. The whale shark was just way too cool, so I’m updating my ranking. Whale shark is my new #1. #1: Zameme. Look, look! So many sharks! Sharks everywhere! There are little fish swimming with them too, how are they not getting eaten? Those little fish are seriously pros at group moves. They turn at exactly the same time! They’re better at fitting into groups than I am. *If I were one of them, I’d be this one.* Okay, give me your best Shisa pose! *Mandatory Shisa-pose photo spot.* Just finished exploring Churaumi Aquarium. At the exit they had a free photo booth, so I had my picture taken. But honestly, taking it for free feels kinda guilty… *If anyone wants it, I’ll seriously give it away.* I also bought a whale shark mascot—today’s #1 favorite. It cost me about $4.70. But I always buy a keychain on my Japan trip and hang it on Papa Clipper. So this time, Zameme gets to be the souvenir. So far I spent $14.50 on the entry fee, plus $4.70 for the mascot, so total $19.20 used. Finally started spending the budget! I’ll try to use the rest wisely too. Alright, heading to the next spot. After about an hour’s drive from Churaumi Aquarium, I’ve arrived in a place called Chatan. The name looks so weird in kanji. It literally means “north valley.” So I thought it’d be “Kitaya” or “Hokuya,” but nope, it’s actually “Chatan.” Didn’t see that coming! But “Chatan” sounds super cute, right? I kinda wish people would call me Chatan too. The rain’s been on and off nonstop. The weather’s been super unstable. On the way here it rained like ten times, then stopped, then poured again… The weather’s been totally playing games with me. Every time it stops raining, I’m like, “Please, please stay clear!” and do a quick prayer, but then it rains again right away. And after like ten times of that, *I gave up on praying fast—it’s just Chatannoying.* When I left Churaumi earlier, it was pouring, and there was this family with kids. The dad was like, “I’ll grab the umbrella,” and ran to the car to get it. But the rain stopped right after he left. And the kids were like, “See, we can go now!” Made me think, wow… dads really have it tough. About 7 years ago I came to Okinawa on a family trip, but my dad actually got left behind that time. Papa-okippa (Papa left behind). It was just me, my mom, and my sis on a girls’ trip. Since it’s just me and my sis, my dad often feels kinda out of place. So when we talk about trips, he’s like, “You girls go ahead, I’ll stay home.” He always says that. Is that just how it is in families with all daughters? Anyway, I’m heading to American Village now, and since it’s such a tourist spot, the roads are packed. When I came with my sister before, we also went to American Village. So this makes it my third time here. It’s such a classic stop—you just can’t skip it. Something I’ve noticed though— there are sooo many cars with “Re” license plates. Turns out “Re” stands for rental car. I always thought rental plates were “Wa,” so seeing all these “Re” plates totally surprised me. The car in front of me, next to me—both “Re.” Even at Churaumi Aquarium, I was surrounded by “Re” plates. Kinda felt like I was the only one left out. Anyway, American Village is finally coming into view. So nostalgic. Never thought I’d come here in my dad’s old car though. Kinda wild. Arrived! I’ve made it to American Village. American Village nostalgia vibes~ What should I do first? *For now, just vibin’ to some American music.* I love how messy and chaotic it feels—so abroad-like. Oh wow, there’s an awamori shop! I wanna go in. …but nope, can’t. These Orion Beer T-shirts are super cute too. But yeah, definitely not within my budget. I’d rather save that money for food. *The awamori selection here is insane.* *They even sell snake liquor with a married pair of habu snakes… yikes.* I’m getting sooo hungry now, so I need to find food ASAP. But my budget’s running low, so even though I’d love a steak, there’s no way I’ll find one for $6.60. Gotta hunt for something budget-friendly. Ooh look, a steakhouse! *Let’s check the prices anyway, even if it’s hopeless.* I’ve arrived at Steakhouse 88! It’s a steak chain that only exists here in Okinawa. Apparently it’s super popular. Their steaks are the highlight, but… they’re actually pretty pricey. Like $26 to $46… Even the cheapest one is around $14.50 (ouch). That’s a bit over my budget. So I think I’ll go for this grilled chicken steak instead. It even comes with rice and a soup bar, so it’s actually a pretty good deal. Yep, I’ll take this one. My chicken steak is here! Looks delicious. Alright, let’s dig in. I’ve got about $14 left in my budget now. This chicken steak was within budget, and secret bonus—I got it at a discount. *So good I wanna clap 88 times!* American Village is full of colorful buildings, and just walking around feels super fun with its international vibes. Orion Beer merch is sold everywhere— sandals, T-shirts, hats… all super cute. Makes me wanna buy everything. *Skipped souvenirs, but couldn’t steak-skip my craving.* *Honestly, eating meat is when I’m happiest.* Yum. *Me, eating in silence, not saying a single word.* All done! That was so good. Gonna rest a bit, then head to the next spot. I just HAD to come here— Blue Seal Ice Cream shop! They sell all kinds of adorable Blue Seal merch too. I grabbed some ice cream from the Blue Seal shop! I’ll eat it in the car since I’m short on time. They had so many flavors. I was dead set on getting beni-imo (purple sweet potato) all the way up until the last second. But I saw that salt chinsuko was ranked #1, and thought, “Wait, maybe #1 really is best…” So I totally caved and changed my mind. I know trusting yourself is important, but it’s hard to beat #1, right? Let’s dig in! Mmm, so good. It’s not too salty—just really easy to eat. Seriously delicious. Oh, don’t worry— I bought this within my budget. Haven’t gone over yet! By the way, Blue Seal Ice Cream was born in America but raised in Okinawa. It started back in 1948, and now it’s become a local specialty. They have so many flavors, like salt chinsuko, beni-imo sweet potato, shikwasa citrus, pineapple, brown sugar— all these Okinawa-inspired flavors. If I had more money, I totally would’ve gone double or triple. But even a single scoop is sooo good. Alright, time to head to my next destination. The sky’s starting to get darker. Didn’t really get to see blue skies today. I heard you can see a gorgeous sunset from American Village, but… look—it’s all gloomy instead. Well, even in Okinawa you get days like this. *Though honestly, me coming here is probably the real reason.* Now I’ve arrived at Kokusai Street! It took me almost another hour of driving to finally get here. The vibe here on Kokusai Street— super lively and bustling. I just did the math on my budget… I’ve only got $1.90 left. That’s nothing… Seriously, what can you even do with $1.90? But honestly, just walking around is fun, so free sightseeing isn’t bad either (positive spin!). There are tons of cheap izakayas here, like the famous “senbero” deals— but nope, can’t even afford that. Maybe I could do a “190-bero” though. But since I’m in my van, no drinking today. Still… maybe I can do a “190-something”? (lol) Yeah okay, that makes no sense. They’ve got sea grapes for sampling, but it feels wrong to try it without buying. And the price is $6.30. Yeah… no way. I’ll come back once I’ve got more money. *So many temptations I feel like walking with my eyes shut.* There are sooo many cute souvenirs! Okinawa is super hot, but it feels like a festival kind of heat. Like, a fun kind of warmth. It’s like a summer festival that never ends. Everywhere you go, it’s lively, with such a fun atmosphere. Ooh look, this souvenir shop is cute! They even sell lots of small little items. I might actually find something I can afford here. Let’s take a peek inside. These bracelets are sooo cute. I really like stuff like this. Oh hey, look, I’m getting closer— the prices are starting to look more my level. [Quiz] With only $1.90 left, what do you think I bought? Back from Kokusai Street now. And here’s the souvenir I bought. It’s awamori (Okinawan liquor)! I’ve been wanting to try it for so long. The price was $2.00. So yeah, I went 10 yen over. Please forgive me for the extra ten cents… I can’t drink it yet since I still have driving to do, but once I’m home I’ll enjoy it. So yeah, you’ve probably guessed already— today’s total spending was… $33.40. Sorry I went a little over budget… I’ll reflect on it later. Please give this video a like so I can have a bigger budget for the next prefecture! But really, I had such an amazing time in Okinawa. I got to see so many places—beyond this Japan trip too. Like Junglia, car camping, and even riding a tuk-tuk. So many fun experiences—it was awesome. It was my first time at Churaumi Aquarium, and I got to revisit American Village after years. Honestly, this trip left me super satisfied. Even though there were typhoons and lots of challenges this time, it was still so much fun— definitely a gold star trip. Big circle of approval! That’s Okinawa for you. *Okay, maybe it’s time to retire my puns… getting embarrassing.* Thanks so much for watching till the very end! If you enjoyed this video, please like, comment, and subscribe! Bye bye~
