A master of explosions, rotations, smooth frantic character acting, and solo animating EDs! This is another case like Hironori Tanaka, where I don’t know if I can put him in my top 10 animators based on personal taste, but there’s so much to like about his style that I wouldn’t blame you if he was in your top 10. He primarily works with Bones studio C (MHA, Soul Eater, FMA 2003, Concrete Revolutio, etc.) when he’s not doing ED sequences, but lately with Onimai and Ruri Rocks, he’s been working with Shingo Fujii for the EDs of his shows.
This was a tough but fun MAD to make. I locked in the song choice months ago of Seibutsugakuteki Gensoukyoku by SEKAI NO OWARI. It’s chaotic enough that I thought it would work really well, but while I was editing it over the summer, something just wasn’t clicking in my opinion and I scrapped it for a while. When I started looking at his work again though, I noticed all the explosions and thought it could work really well for the instrumental section of the song, and I think it did. The “guruguru” parts in the lyrics also work perfectly with Suzuki’s rotating shots. There were 2 things I was unsatisfied with though: 1 of which was not being able to fit certain clips in, and also Suzuki’s sequence for MHA movie 3 is packed with so many great parts that not everything was going to make it unfortunately. The other being that I usually keep raunchy clips to a minimum, but given Suzuki’s very well done ED for Highschool DxD and FMA 2003 ED3, I couldn’t avoid it on this one lmao.
