NUNCA vi nada assim! “Song 3” – BABYMETAL x SLAUGHTER TO PREAVAIL | LRZ React (legendado)

In today’s video, I bring you an unexpected, brutal, and explosive collaboration. None other than BabyMetal versus Slaughter to Prevail. Welcome to Luso React Zone, the Portuguese React channel. I appreciate your like, subscribing to the channel, and turning on the notification bell so you don’t miss anything here, okay? Thanks! The song “Song 3” is featured on the albums “Metal Forth” by BabyMetal and ” Grizzly” by Slaughter to Prevail, and for me, it immediately represents cultural duality. Kawaii versus Deathcore, Japanese versus Russian! Ready? Stay with me until the end of the video because today, BabyMetal and Slaughter to Prevail take the LRZ stage! BabyMetal’s gutturals…cool! The song is dynamic. There’s Slaughter to Prevail! Hey, they’re treating the kid badly! That chorus is so cool! This… this heavy Deathcore sound behind those lively BabyMetal vocals is excellent! It’s a truly strange combination, but it’s working very well. Now, what I’d like to see is if Alex Terrible will join in, because that will be an even stranger match. The velvety feminine vocals of BabyMetal, mixed with the powerful growls of Mr. Alex Terrible. Let’s see if he comes or not. Let’s go. They’re all there. The only one missing is him… Oh… he’s coming!!!… could it be?!? “Bari-san” I have to see what “Bari-san” is… He arrives and ruins everything right away!! This vocal projection… He’s practicing… The chorus came in right after his vocals. It’s impressive. Very good. Yeah!! The power of his voice is unique! Really strange!! Well, you may have noticed, I don’t know if you’ve seen it on this side, my eye is a little more closed because I had surgery, but hey, it doesn’t matter. OK. What did we just see and hear? Well, Song 3 is much more than a collaboration between BabyMetal and Slaughter To Prevail, of course; it’s a true ritual of sound, energy, and identity. Well, let’s talk about the lyrics, because there’s a lot hidden there. I checked the translation, of course, and it starts right away with “one, two, three, thunder.” And this countdown isn’t random, mind you. This is a kind of spell, a war cry, that represents the BabyMetal trio, but it also functions as a ritual of power, like together we are unstoppable or we can achieve anything. Then we have the phrase “bari-san,” which is Japanese slang for when the signal is at its maximum, as if you have maximum network on your cell phone… connected. If anyone in Japan sees this video and I’m wrong, please feel free to correct me, of course. But at least that’s what I interpreted Bari-san to be. Essentially, it’s about living with full intensity and also refers to the god of thunder in Japanese folklore, Raijin, in other words, pure symbolism of strength! And there’s more! In one of the verses, they talk about father, mother, brother—all very everyday things, but which actually represent identity. Essentially, we’re seeing teenagers, themselves naturally, asserting who they are within their family, at school, and now on the world stage, where BabyMetal performs and feels at home. And then Alex enters, of course! His guttural vocals in Russian are a wall of fury and presence. It’s impressive. But look at the translation and notice what he’s saying. “The sun rises, The fire burns, Raise the flags.” This, my friends, is rebirth, it’s resistance, it’s global power! It’s almost as if we’re watching a musical revolution happen right there, in that place! Musically, it’s a true collision of worlds. It’s incredible how these two bands have incredibly heavy riffs tuned down to pure deathcore. The drums are fast, technical, aggressive—the real Evgeny. And on top of all this, BabyMetal with those sweet, almost hypnotic vocals, which contrast beautifully with the instrumental aggression—I mentioned this during the video; the timing was impeccable. The chorus is melodic and ritualistic. The countdown creates a sense of anticipation that explodes with Thunder, literally with that thunder! The production on this song is also spot on. Every element has its space. The growls are brutal, but they don’t drown out the vocals. No I don’t know if you noticed that, or the music. In short, Song 3 is more than a song, it’s a statement, it’s the sound of a fusion of cultures, genres, languages, and styles—completely different musical styles. BabyMetal brings Kawaii Metal, theatricality, Japan. While Slaughter to Prevail brings Russian brutality, heaviness, the cry of the earth, and together they create something completely new—that’s the truth!! And now I ask, what did you think of all this madness? Did you also feel the power of the countdown, “One, two, three, thunder”? Do you think this kind of collaboration is the future of metal? Hmm?!? Leave it all in the comments. As always, I’ll leave the official link to this video for you to watch later. I’ll leave the comments box open. I’ll ask you to like it, subscribe to the channel, and activate the notification bell so you don’t miss anything that happens here. I’m more or less keeping one eye closed, so I’ll leave it at that. But anyway, until the next video…

  2. Excellent reaction. As well as the 3 bars on the telephone all of the other things about grandma, grandpa, big brother and so on are also Japanese puns and word play around the number 3 (or san in Japanese).

3 is significant for Momometal in particular. This song is centred on Momometal taking a lot of the lead with her growls (you were right, Alex Terrible did not utter a word until after the mask floated in the video maybe 2 minutes in, it was all MomoZilla to there and they alternated with the growls at the end).

Momometal's favourite number is 3, she was born 03.03.03, moved to her home town aged 3, spent 3 years in Sakura Gakuin and was one of 3 graduates, was revealed as the 3rd of 3 Avengers supporting Su and Moa, became the third official member of BABYMETAL making them a trio once again and the song is 3.33 long. There is probably more – they may not explain themselves, but they never do these things by accident either.

I'm sure there are so many people envying Alex Terrible having BABYMETAL as his personal trainers, building him up and motivating him to confront his school bullies (in the video that was meant to be him being bullied at school and then being oppressed in his office job) and to defeat his demons (played by his band mates).🦊🤘

There is an homage to a famous Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki. I am only going from other comments as I know nothing about him, but I think they said his catchphrase was also ichi ni san da (1 2 thunder) and he would put on a red towel when he won, same as Su put one round Alex's neck at the end of the video.

BABYMETAL played in Tampa, Florida three or four weeks ago. Surprise guest appearance on stage – Alex Terrible turned up to join them and he even did his dance moves from the video.

  3. Subscribed. Awesome collaboration and performance. Thanks for the subtitles. 🦊 🖖❤
