launched a landing unit from the moon, which touched down on Earth. Years Later Ever since, mankind has been engaged
in all-out war with this alien species. The population of Earth has fallen
and is now one to two billion. As the invaders were Beings of Extra-Terrestrial origin who were
Adversarial to the human race, they were named the BETA. In order to cope with the threat they posed, humans developed the Tactical Surface Fighter. In July of 1998, the BETA
advance on Japan began, and before long, the Kitakyushu
and Chugoku regions were lost. On August 15th, the imperial
capital of Kyoto finally fell, and the battlefield expanded
into eastern Japan. September 15th,1998

to protect their hometowns, too. But over half of them never made

where they’ve spent their lives. Or the place their families
would be returning to visit. Many have refused to leave. Not to mention, with the
fall of western Japan, it’s not even clear where they’d be sent. The people aren’t being
shown the way forward… By either the government or us. September 24th, 1998 With the Itoi River defense line broken, the 6th Division’s delay tactics

Shinano in the IJN’s 2nd Fleet. They’re currently located 35 km
south-by-southwest from Mano Bay, and have confirmed the first enemy wave. First wave has made contact
with the minefield. Minefields 03 through 07 are gone! Artillery is reporting that
they are ready to fire. Wait until they’re in our effective range! Have the TSF squadrons ready to sortie! Roger. The BETA aren’t slowing down! The first wave has passed
the second alert line. Move it! Come on, hurry! Get going! This way! A-09, all systems green. A-06, all systems green. Don’t die on me out there, rookies. I want all all guns on fixed coordinates
and firing for effect, now! First wave is down. Second wave incoming. Imperial Navy 2nd Fleet
Commander Ozawa Hisaya Order the ships to fire. All ships, prepare to fire! All ships, preparing to fire! Imperial Navy 2nd Fleet
Staff Officer Abe Tomohiko We’re going to protect Sado. 2nd and 3rd waves down. 4th wave is incoming! All Alpha Squadron units,
prepare for takeoff. We’ve got Destroyer-class on the defensive
wall that need to be taken out. All units, weapons free.
Let’s quiet these little piggies down! Roger! Roger! Stay calm. Remember what
you did in the simulator. Roger that! Let’s get this done! Alpha Squadron has successfully suppressed
the area around the defensive wall. One minute until 5th wave makes contact. Have Alpha pull back and resupply! Bravo Squadron needs to be in the
field before the 5th wave hits! Roger. Considering what we’re up against,
we seem to be holding well enough. We’ve got no TSFs to spare.
I’d say we’re barely breaking even. Has the US sent reinforcements? The 7th Fleet is anchored at
Yamagata and hasn’t budged. Hey, over here! Alpha, finish your resupply and
get ready to head back out. Roger. This way! Get a move on! Sixteen minutes since we sortied. You made it through the
eight minutes of death. Thank you. Bravo! Our visitors are
flashing their asses at us! We can show our hospitality
by filling them with lead! Roger! Bravo Squadron has finished
clearing the 5th wave. What the hell is that thing?! Alpha Squadron has finished resupplying. There’s a new BETA reading at 5606! At 5606?! That’s the same coordinates as Bravo Squad! Ohya! A goddamned Fort-class?! Bravo Squadron is running low on ammunition! We’ve lost contact with 03, 05, and 08! Get Alpha Squadron out there! There was no word in that
report of a Fort-class! We believe that they crossed
over from the continent! From Asia? So that’s their game… The listening posts from the initial
invasion weren’t repaired in time. Fort-class BETA have appeared at 5606!
Alpha Squadron is to mobilize immediately! Fort-class? I repeat, Alpha is to mobilize immediately… We need reinforcements! The homeland’s engaged with a
brigade-class BETA force, too. They don’t have any forces to spare. What about the US?! Still no response. What’s the point of the damned
security treaty, then?! If those things unload any
Laser-class, it’s all over. Back off! Back off! Ishikawa! We had to run into a Fort-class
after we finished?! Fall back! We’ll take him! Copy that! All Bravo units, fall back! Alpha Squad, the 35mm guns aren’t
going to scratch those Fort-classes. Use your 120mm rounds and aim for the joints! Now, break! Roger! A-06, on me! Now! Next! Keep those freaks away
from the defensive wall! Five of the Fort-classes that
surfaced have been shot down. There are twelve more heading into the field! We’re going to be overwhelmed at this rate. Komaki-san, there’s another one coming! Look out! I got it! Kusano! 06, respond! 06! Alpha Squadron 05, 06, and
08’s signals have been cut! The seventh wave is here!
There are 12,000 of them! What about Bravo? None of the intact units are combat-ready. Sadogashima • In Front of the Local Underground Shelter Are all of the residents inside the shelter?! Squadron and execute your orders. Roger that. The 2nd Fleet has ordered the command
center to evacuate to Ryotsu Port. An order from Admiral Ozawa, huh? Let him know that we appreciate the offer. Yes, sir! This is A-09. I’m checking the shelter… No survivors inside. Hold on! for that act of insubordination, you are hereby dismissed! Commander! Commander! Commander Sakazaki! Come and get me! You goddamn BETA! I want those refugee ships in the clear ASAP! What about command personnel? No one from central command was
in the evacuation vehicles. No one at all? No, sir. They would only respond with,
“We’re grateful,” when told them to evacuate. I see. She’s got symptoms of shock,
but no external wounds. Considering what happened… it’s a miracle. What’s the harm in at least one miracle? After the hell we just went through… In the following days,
northern Japan fell to the BETA. There were 36 million dead and
missing all across Japan. And the 21st BETA Hive was
