Hey there, it’s Yuuka! Today I rode the Spacia X from Asakusa all the way to Kinugawa Onsen! I’ve always wanted to visit Kinugawa Onsen, and I finally made it… but it’s raining. Of course 😅 ※Rain Girl strikes again Guess I made the “oni” mad… Oops, looks like I angered the “Oni” 😂 There are so many hotels and hot springs here in Kinugawa, I had such a hard time choosing where to stay! I thought the famous Asaya Hotel looked really nice too… But when I checked the price, it said $450! Yeahhh, no thanks, that’s way outta my budget 😅 So today I found a cozy little spot that’s way more affordable and I’m gonna check it out! Alright, let’s head over! *Kinugawa pose* Kinugawa Onsen has been around since the Edo period, and you can really feel the age in the buildings here. It’s got this old-school retro vibe. And honestly, I love that kind of vibe! It reminds me of my grandma’s house back in the day. It just makes me feel so relaxed and comfy. Super nostalgic in the best way. We’ve arrived! Kinugawa Plaza Hotel This is where I’m staying tonight! When I searched “Kinugawa,” a bunch of places popped up like “Kinugawa Hotel,” “Kinugawa Kanko Hotel” and stuff… They all have Kinugawa in the name! But tonight I’m at Kinugawa *Plaza* Hotel. It’s home to the original Kinugawa hot spring— called “Takarano-yu,” or “Treasure Spring.” This “Treasure Spring” was the very first source discovered here, and it’s still flowing at 300 liters per minute! These round stones have apparently been here for 50 years. Oh, really? They’ve been here the whole time? I don’t know about the rest, but this stone’s been here forever. So yeah, this round stone is a longtime resident! ※A smooth elder who’s never been edgy Take your time and enjoy! Wait… this is YouTube, but this feels like Nico Nico 😂 Anyway, let’s head inside! Wow, it’s super pretty in here! Outside felt pretty retro, but… inside is gorgeous! Look, look—the view is amazing! Even the windows are stained glass! And the ceiling is super high! I think I could fit like… 100 of me in here. ※Okay that’s a bit dramatic 😂 And here’s the view from the window… Check it out! Whoa… that’s a steep cliff! Just like my life? lol Is that the Kinugawa River? Yep, it’s flowing right in front of us. The scenery is full-on nature vibes. Not bad at all! Alright, time to go check in! ※Shaking from happiness—there’s a Häagen-Dazs vending machine! Whoa, what’s this? Giant wooden sandals? Actually, they’re not that different from my shoe size 😅 See? (maybe?) Totally blown away by these mega-sized geta. The gift shop had all sorts of goodies from Tochigi, including a bunch of local sake lined up like soldiers. Alright, I’ve checked in! I’m staying in room 737. I’m on the 7th floor now, and I think it’s the room all the way at the end. Found it—737! This is the one! Okay, let’s open it up… Wait… is this the whole room? Oh no, it’s like one tatami mat big 😱 …Just kidding, obviously. There’s a full room back here! It’s a beautiful traditional-style room. When you walk in, there’s a fridge and a tea set ready to go. Over here, there’s also a TV. Inside the closet… it looks like this! There are some hangers, and towels for the public bath, plus a yukata to wear. I wonder if behind that shoji screen is a window? Let’s find out… Wow… There’s an enclosed veranda area! And the chairs are adorable! They even have patterns like a yukata design. Here’s the view from my room— since I’m on the 7th floor, it’s really nice! The other side has a mirror setup— like a full 3-panel vanity. Looks like I could sit here and do my makeup too! And there’s a toilet over here— plus a little sink and vanity area on this side. There’s this long lantern-style light hanging overhead. And yep, the room has its own shower too. It’s got the regular showerhead, and this fancy one too—double the options! Might be good to cool my head off with… for reflection 😅 But they also have a big public bath here, so I don’t *have* to use the room shower. I’ll definitely try the big bath later! Looking forward to that! Time for a little break. This hotel is honestly way nicer than I expected. It’s about $80 per night, and that includes both dinner and breakfast, plus a 50-minute ticket for a private onsen! Such a great deal, right? I was tempted by those super famous hotels, but— this one had over 8,000 reviews, so I gave it a shot. Also, this isn’t just a chill onsen trip… I’m actually here on a little “training camp.” In two months, on August 9th, I’m hosting my birthday event, and there’s SO much to prep. Stuff’s been piling up and I haven’t been able to focus at home. So I thought, maybe somewhere affordable and quiet would help me concentrate… and while looking around, I remembered— Wait! I’ve been wanting to visit Kinugawa! So I booked this place and here I am. Did I choose too nice of a hotel though…? Can I even focus here…? Nope, I WILL focus!! Anyway, today I’m planning to prep and get a bunch of stuff done. But before that, actually… I kinda missed the dinner time window 😅 I’m already a bit late… And you know what they say—can’t go to battle on an empty stomach! So I’m gonna hurry and grab some dinner! Wish me luck—I’m starving! Alrighty, off I go! I’ve arrived! This is the dining room, called Miyabi. Time to eat! ※The temptation is real, but I’m strong (I think). Tonight’s dinner is shabu-shabu! Looks soooo good… Since I have birthday event stuff to prep, I decided to stick with water tonight. Wait a sec… Why is there a Kirin lager in front of me now? Well, I guess it can’t be helped 😇 ※Karma’s a beer S-sorry… Apologies… our beer has caused some mischief. Anyway, cheers! Fueling up… Mmm, delicious. Alright, time for the main star—the meat! At first, I thought there were only like 6 slices of meat and was kinda disappointed… But then the staff told me— it’s all-you-can-eat, buffet style! Take as much as you want! Isn’t that insane? Yes, the meat is unlimited too 🤩 Alright then—let’s dig in! This looks sooo good. ※Hitting that legal shabu-shabu high This is heaven… Oh by the way, earlier on the Spacia X, I had a sukiyaki bento for lunch… And now shabu-shabu for dinner? It’s a full-on meat fest and I’m loving it. But hey, I’m working hard today— so I deserve some extra treats. Consider it an investment in myself! I’ve actually been in planning meetings for the birthday event— like with food trucks and stuff. Everyone loves Kirin and all that, so… I’m thinking it’d be fun to serve beer too! I’ve got all kinds of ideas right now. Since my birthday’s in summer, I really want it to feel like a summer festival! So I’m thinking food trucks and fun vibes, to give the whole thing a festive feel. Also, I should eat my veggies too… Gotta stay in top shape before the event. If I get sick, everything falls apart! ※Why do I look the happiest when I’m eating meat? Oh no—it’s already 7:30pm! I booked the onsen for 8, and time’s flying… I was so focused on eating, I forgot to film! Didn’t capture much at all 😭 This is my last piece of meat… ※Stuffing it in like it’s last call ※Said I wouldn’t drink… but casually finished the whole bottle That was amazing. I’m stuffed! Alright, time to head back to my room, grab my towel, and head off to the bath! Just finished dinner and I’m heading to the private bath now. It’s not inside the hotel—it’s actually located outside. The place is called “Hoozuki-tei.” It’s about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Roughly 300 meters away, apparently. Perfect way to walk off dinner a bit! Let’s take a little stroll. And here we are—Hoozuki-tei. You go inside and give them your room number, and they’ll let you in. Seems pretty simple! It was super dark on the way here and honestly kinda scary… ※Got spooked and jogged a little at the end ※Arrived at the private open-air bath It’s sooo spacious! And it’s absolutely beautiful. I’m getting hyped now! Alright—time to hop in! So warm… There’s just something magical about hot springs. The very first event I did after starting YouTube was back in April 2024. A lot of people came to see me after watching my videos for the first time— it was so touching, seriously. Even now, I still think about that sometimes, and it makes me really happy. Then I did a birthday event in August, and again this March, I held another event. But this time, I’ve doubled the size of the venue compared to the one in March! So yeah… my social anxiety is kinda kicking in 😅 Honestly, I’m nervous and excited at the same time. But having more people come see me just makes me super happy. I’m really looking forward to it! ※Excitement level: 100 / Anxiety level: 1000 Since the venue’s getting bigger, I want to create an event where *everyone* has fun. I’m thinking about games and stuff, so people in the front, middle, and back can all enjoy it equally. I really want to plan it so no one feels left out. Right now I’m brainstorming those kinds of ideas. Seats will be randomly assigned, so you might end up in the front… or all the way in the back. And I feel kinda bad for the people in the back, so… I’m thinking maybe I’ll go over and give them a high five or something! Hmm, what else would be good? I really want even the people in the back to leave feeling happy. It’s hot… Believe it or not, today is actually super hot! This hot spring feels like it’s probably around 43°C (about 110°F)! I might overheat in here… My birthday’s actually August 15, and the birthday event is on August 9— which will probably be even hotter than today! It’s gonna be a full-on summer scorcher ☀️ So if you’re coming, please make sure to stay hydrated and bring stuff to stay cool! Just imagining it is making me nervous… It’s hot but I’ve got chills?! What’s happening lol Am I gonna be okay…? Looks like tonight’s still got a long way to go, so I’m gonna hop out of the bath for now. But I really got to enjoy Kinugawa Onsen. I’m glad I got to soak in the hot spring. Back from Hoozuki-tei, the private onsen, and now I’m in my room again. It was honestly amazing. But the whole place was like glass walls everywhere… I felt totally exposed 😳 I was soaking with my heart pounding the whole time. Alright, time to get to work! I’ve got a lot to do, but first… Let’s take some Cheki polaroids! These are for event perks. At the birthday event, you can take two-shot Chekis with me too! So definitely come if you can! Hope this selfie is lined up okay… Let’s give it a shot! I always set my phone on a stand, then print the photos afterwards. That one came out really nice! Looking good! Look, look—this one’s super cute, right? Let’s go ahead and print it out! First one’s done! I’m planning to take 40 of these. Ahh my back’s gonna give out 😵 Okay, all the Chekis are done! I even ran around the hallway a bit and got all sorts of shots like these. Alrighty, now it’s time to… start decorating them with doodles! Hmm, what kind of designs should I do? I’ll draw on each one with lots of love 💕 ※Japanese handwriting is hard! I’ll write little heartfelt messages on each one too. Some fans are coming from really far away, so I want to give them something they can hold onto—not just memories. Something physical to take home. ※visualizing it all I really hope they’ll like it. I’m actually super picky about how I decorate Chekis. It takes me like 10 minutes for just one! I draw on them really carefully. Taking them in casual clothes is nice too, but— when I post onsen videos, people always compliment the yukata look! That’s part of why I chose Kinugawa Onsen this time. I really wanted to try doing yukata Chekis. And since the birthday event is in summer, I thought yukata fits the season perfectly. Alright, done! But I won’t show you the decorations yet— that’s a surprise for the day of the event! Sealed for now! The event will be at a place called Tokyo Geijutsu Center. The closest station is Kitasenju. The building is really tall— and the venue, Tenku Theater, is at the top floor. You can even see Tokyo Skytree from there! The view is absolutely gorgeous. And this venue actually has the biggest capacity of any solo event I’ve done so far. So yeah, that’s where we’re at… Honestly, I’m kinda… worried I might get scared and run away 😅 But I’m really excited too— so I’ll do my best! Since it’s a theater-style venue, I’ve been meeting with the lighting team, the sound crew, and all sorts of people for the production. I’m putting a ton of care into this event, so I think it’s gonna turn out amazing! Wait… did I just hype it up too much? People often ask me what kind of gifts I like, and honestly— letters really mean the world to me. I get a lot of handwritten letters from fans, and reading them often makes me tear up. When I’m feeling down, I reread them and they give me strength to keep going. Seriously, they cheer me up so much. It really means a lot. Everyone’s always so kind… I’m just… honestly… so full of… ※Too tipsy to speak properly right now Anyway, I seriously can’t wait for the birthday event! Oh, right— for those of you who’ve watched this far, I have a little announcement. Well, maybe not *that* little… You know the pajamas I always wear? The ones from GORON? People have been asking in the comments, “Please turn them into merch!” And after thinking about it for a while… I decided to make it official merch! But it’s still in production right now, so I’m not sure if it’ll be ready in time for the event. If it is, though— I’d love to make it available for everyone at the event! But I’m kinda super picky… When I got the first sample, I sent it back for revisions like five times 😅 So we’re still going back and forth on it. That’s why I don’t know yet if we’ll make it in time. The one I wear is kind of a reddish color, but for guys I picked a more blueish, navy-toned version. But if I say too much— it’ll ruin the surprise, right? So let’s keep this hush-hush. Shhh, don’t tell anyone, okay? Only the people watching this know the secret for now! It’s still… pre-announcement stage (probably). So yeah, I really hope you’ll look forward to the new merch too! It’s always like this with my merch— I make everything myself, and I’m super particular about the details. This time too, I’m planning some fun and super cute merch items! After about two hours of work… I finally managed to finish around 10 Chekis! But I still have a lot more to go, so I’m gonna keep powering through. Might end up pulling an all-nighter… Let’s do this! But honestly, prepping for the birthday event is so much fun. ※Several hours passed, and I just kept working nonstop… Good morning! So in the end, I didn’t sleep at all— I was working until around 5 in the morning. After that, I went to the public bath, then flopped down for a bit to rest. Since I wasn’t at home, I was actually able to focus really well! Anyway, now it’s time— I’m heading to the breakfast buffet! If you go down these stairs to the 2nd floor, that’s where the dining area is. ※Time to go wild this morning 💥 Here’s the breakfast buffet—tons of options! Lots of dishes that looked super healthy and gentle on the stomach. And there it was—my beloved sausage, front and center. They also had some tasty-looking croissants, plus a few fruits on the side. I’m going with a healthy vibe for breakfast today! Let’s eat! Starting off with some milk. ※Mornings = Milk > Beer, obviously The buffet had tons of choices, and everything looked amazing. After all that hard work yesterday, this tastes even better somehow. ※Famous for wearing my heart on my face After that, I finished doodling on all the Chekis, decided on the lighting effects too, and even made some merch. Feels good to get stuff done! There’s only two months left, and I’ve been stressing like “I gotta do this, I gotta do that,” but stepping out of my usual space and just focusing like this really works wonders. I went to the large public bath early this morning, and no one was there—it was all mine! It was super spacious too—such a great experience. They say Kinugawa Onsen is great for your skin, and helps with fatigue recovery too. Even though I didn’t sleep last night, my skin actually feels pretty good today! I feel totally refreshed. Seriously—so glad I came here. 13,000 yen gets you both breakfast *and* dinner buffets, plus access to a private onsen. Such a great deal, right? ※If you’re stuck on which Kinugawa hotel to choose—highly recommend this one! I got a lot done yesterday, but the prep’s still not over yet. Once I get home, I’ll keep working hard for the next two months— practicing and getting everything ready. Still a long way to go, but I’m gonna give it my all! That was delicious! The breakfast buffet ends at 9AM, and it’s already 8:50… So before they kick me out… I’m kicking myself out(?) lol Back in the room now. Breakfast was seriously so good. Especially the sausage—it totally won today. Yeah, sausage is the undisputed breakfast champ. Oh right! If I put everything away, they won’t know what I used and it makes it harder for the staff— I saw someone mention that in the comments! So I’ll just leave it neatly in the corner. ※Being a solo guest, I feel like they probably remember me lol This should be good enough! The morning view hits different—it’s stunning! I definitely want to come back to Kinugawa Onsen. If you know any other good hotels here, please let me know! So today, I stayed at Kinugawa Plaza Hotel. It was only $85 and the service was amazing—super worth it! I got so much done for my birthday event prep too. Totally worth the trip. There’s still two months left, so I’ll keep working hard on everything.
