I totally seem like I’d be fearless on a bike But ever since that fall, I’ve been scared – Still, being a kid was the best

– Seriously? Why though? I hadn’t done it in a year and suddenly I was just terrified (I used to be totally fearless)
I used to ride without a single ounce of fear I’d just go for it, even if I fell or whatever So I was like, “Is this the age where fear starts to kick in?” What about water? Are you scared of water? Water? Nah, not scared of that yet (Water is scarier than snow)
Isn’t water scarier though? I mean, not scary scary… I just don’t like it – Like when water gets up your nose and it stings

That hurts way more than falling, don’t you think? But when you fall while snowboarding, you can really get hurt Like breaking your collarbone (Would rather not)
Or your wrist or something So you’ve gotta be super careful when you ride Anyway, JIHYO, how’s it feel going on a DATE with me? Compared to doing it with other members It’s kinda different with each person, right? Yeah, it’s a little different (It’s more than just comfy)
This just feels like a chill off day abroad You get what I mean? When I’m filming with other members I kinda feel the camera presence, you know? – Right? But now it feels like there’s no camera
– Yeah! There are like five cameras in here but I don’t feel a thing – Just feels like we’re chatting in the waiting room with some free time

Yeah, my DATE with MOMO was legendary for that But with SANA, ever since we debuted we’ve been (Roommates living super close from the start)
Sleeping right next to each other—closer than we are now – Right
– We were basically stuck together (Just a wall between us)
It was like right here, just a wall between us Like, just this little divider here – So we’d always chat like this HAHA
– Yeah, totally That’s probably why we became besties so naturally Totally, for real I don’t think I ever felt awkward with you, even from the start (Roommates hit different)
– Sharing a room really makes a difference
– For sure There’s never been a moment where I thought, “It’s awkward with SANA” Yeah, same here – Right?
– Yup Back when I used to be roommates with CHAEYOUNG At the old dorm, it was the three of us who went to school that shared one room So our room was kinda far from the others And I remember wanting to get closer to CHAEYOUNG So I asked if we could room together Yeah, I remember that Didn’t you kinda feel that way about TZUYU too? You, TZUYU, and MINA started hanging out more Going out together and talking more But with MINA, we’re the same age And we really get along So with MINA it just naturally happened like (JIHYO & MINA kept being roommates)
“MINA, let’s be roommates again!” and we were Even before that too, yeah that’s right But there was this one thing—while we were talking We really wanted to get the big room But obviously two people can’t take the big room alone (So they recruited TZUYU as their third roommate)
So we were like, “Should we add one more and take the big room?” (Oh, that’s what happened)
“With the three of us?” So I think that’s how we ended up getting the big room (JIHYO x MINA x TZUYU = Roommates)
At first it was me, MINA, and TZUYU as a trio Then TZUYU ended up moving out to the living room We set up a partition wall in the living room so she could live there We’re seriously such nice unnies Since she’s the youngest, we were like, “Let’s give her a solo room” (The unnies who wanted to take extra care of TZUYU)
We thought she deserved her own space so we gave it to her (Good-hearted ‘97 liners)
We’re honestly so nice, right? (Facts)
Yeah, we are – I mean, everyone probably wanted their own room so badly
– For sure But we kept bringing it up to the company (After the roommate era, all of TWICE got their own rooms)
So at the next dorm, we all finally got our own rooms Yeah, that was so nice But seriously, after getting a massage Doesn’t it feel like your face puffiness is going down? Honestly, I’m getting so sleepy right now It feels amazing No sleeping allowed~ (Seriously enjoying that massage) What kind of shoot do you enjoy the most, JIHYO? Recording is the most fun (How JIHYO monitors her vocals)
When I get to listen to what I recorded later, like seriously— Once I get the mix or master version I literally listen to only that for like a whole month – I don’t listen to anything else
– For real? Even when I’m driving I just have that playing on my earbuds constantly Even in the car on our way to schedules (TWICE’s music always with her)
I just really like it, listening to our songs like that There’s something so fun about listening to what we recorded It’s really enjoyable I think that’s what I enjoy the most It’s kind of become a habit now Or watching our old concert or stage performances When I go back and monitor those (Right) I’ll be like, “Oh yeah, that’s what we were doing back then” That stuff’s just really fun to me Getting to see what I’ve done, and all the effort I put in—I love that (The result of effort = pride and fulfillment)

There’s something I wanted to try There’s something I really wanted to do with you recently, JIHYO But I can’t remember what it was – You know how when you scroll through Reels and stuff

I feel like it’d be fun to do something active with you, like ziplining – That’d be SO fun
– I really wanna do it These days~ I feel like I’ve been into that kind of stuff Back in the day, I wanted to learn all sorts of things (JIHYO used to try every activity)
Especially all the active kinds So I tried golf, tennis, snowboarding, hockey, and so on I did a lot of stuff like that But lately, instead of that… (Current interest: cooking)
I really wanna learn how to cook So like, from way back I used to cook for myself at home anyway – But at some point, I just got so sick of delivery food
– Same So I started cooking, but what I can make is super limited I can only do Korean dishes If I learned how to cook more, I feel like (Relatable)
I’d feel prouder and eat better every day Yeah, I had that phase too… but it passed (LOL) (LOL) I also had a time when I really wanted to learn cooking But it just… slipped by That’s just how my life is (Favorite memory Besties made together)
The one I remember the most is when you, SANA, you did that—what’s it called again? (Making a wreath with JEONG-SA-JI)
You really wanted to do that wreath-making class, so we went together Yeah, we went without filming We just booked a one-day class, just the two of us There were other couples there too – We just took the class

I went to the grocery store But before that, I stopped by a shop (For what?)
I went to get a makeup lesson Oh my gosh! I wanna try that too!! (Why she suddenly took a lesson)

I’m going to Guam with Mi-yeon soon And we’re going without any staff or even a manager So I figured it’d be good to at least take a base makeup lesson (I asked the makeup artist on set)
I asked if I could come in for a lesson (And she said yes!)
She was like, “Really? Wanna come?” So I did (Half by the artist, half by SANA)
She did one side and I copied on the other side How was it? Did it turn out okay? Look similar? It was fine! I’m satisfied for a first try (Why she actually went to the store)
But I needed that product And the place that had it turned out to be a grocery store So that’s why I went – What about you, JIHYO?

I bet JIHYO has a lot Honestly, even when I went to Hawaii That trip was kind of impulsive too I don’t really plan anything It was like, “Wanna go?” “Yeah, let’s go!” and we booked the flight (A true ‘P’ personality kind of trip)

That’s what it sounds like to me But I don’t think I’d be that hurt I’d more be like “What exactly doesn’t match?” (JIHYO the ‘T’, searching for the root cause)

– You’d start digging for the root of it? I think I’d ask myself, “Wait, what taste of SANA’s doesn’t match mine?” Then I’d just be like, “Hey, what exactly do we not match on?” And you’d probably have something to say Then I’d go, “Oh wow, yeah, we really don’t match” (This is why they’re besties)
That’s probably why you and I are so close Because you responds like that But what if it was JEONGYEON?! – It really depends on who says it

I totally get JIHYO though It’s because I know your personality so well (It just shows how long they’ve known each other)
It’s not like I don’t understand where you’re coming from Of course, there’ve been times I thought, “I wouldn’t have said it like that” There are definitely things like that Because as the leader, you had to say certain things But when JIHYO (JIHYO never says things without a reason)
says something like that, there’s always a reason I understand you because I know you’re not the type to say things randomly But for me, what I don’t get about SANA isn’t about ‘F’ vs ‘T’ (ENFP SANA is a bit tough for JIHYO)

My first impression of JIHYO was when I first saw her at the dorm We were already inside the dorm and I saw JIHYO for the first time from outside the front door And right away, I was like, “Whoa, her eyes are huge” Someone told me you were already a celebrity So I was like, “Wow, celebs really are built different” – Someone must’ve joked that I was a celeb

There was this trainee oppa standing next to you (From celebrity to manager lol)
And someone told me that oppa was your manager So I was like, “A manager?!” “Whoa, that’s so cool” “She’s still a trainee but already has a manager?? That’s next level!” (Legendary JYP trainee status confirmed)
I was seriously impressed, but then We all went into the dorm and started introducing ourselves Your eyes were so big They sparkled, and you were just super pretty… then later (One day at the convenience store with the trainees)
I forget if it was that day or another But you know how we always went to the convenience store? We went, and then— “Whoa!! It’s JIHYO!!” someone shouted (They thought it was the actual JIHYO)
So I turned and looked (If you know, you know)
It was one of those fruit yogurt drinks, and the character on it (TBT photo proof)
Looked just like trainee JIHYO back then (A true throwback)
– I used to get that all the time
– So to me, JIHYO’s Second-ever image was that yogurt drink The trainees would always tease you saying you looked like the cartoon on the bottle (She really did though) Looking back now, out of all the things they teased me about— That one was actually kinda pretty Who else was there? And I also remember this— Back when we were trainees, we weren’t really that close with the Japanese members – Everyone kind of stuck to their own groups
– Yeah, totally But then suddenly, before TWICE While doing a different team, SANA suddenly— (6MIX recruitment)
They were like, “We’re adding SANA to the group” So we started working with her And I just remember it felt kinda awkward at first And I kept thinking “SANA must be feeling so pressured and uncomfortable” Like, “This must be really hard on her…” You’d been working with the Japan team, then suddenly got moved To something completely new (Back then she wasn’t Kim SANA, just SANA)
– And you didn’t speak Korean like you do now
– Yeah Even though you were already pretty good I remember being really conscious of that (SANA’s side of the story)
I had to do it from start to finish In front of all the other members, like I was getting a lesson from J.Y. Park From beginning to end – Really??
– Yup, totally I’d get vocal lessons from the company It was “Do it again”, right? – I memorized the whole [Do it again] choreo Practiced alone until dawn, then went over (SANA putting in blood, sweat, and tears)
To make sure I hit all the formations (And the response was good)
The members reacted really well So I was like, “Thank goodness” Ah, so it kind of felt like you were being judged Yeah, I guess it did (What SANA was really feeling)
“Why am I even here…?” “I was already getting ready just fine—why change everything?” – It was like right before recording, wasn’t it?
– Yup I even took rap lessons~ (Now she can say it)
I almost became a rapper… (The part CHAEYOUNG has now)
– You know that “Like Taecyeon oppa said, candy in my ear” line?
– That was gonna be MY part So at the time, it went that way and When 6MIX didn’t end up happening I seriously never imagined we’d all team up again – Same here
– Totally Especially you, MOMO, and MINA And TZUYU too – I really never thought we’d be in the same group
– Yeah, seriously – Since we were in the Japan team and TZUYU was in the next team, I never imagined we’d all be in one group – Looking back now
– It’s honestly such a good thing we ended up together – So many memories

But when I filmed the DATE with MOMO Honestly, I didn’t feel super awkward at first But MOMO was so awkward, I started to feel it too – So I got more awkward little by little

Because the members teased us so much So that made it even more awkward? Once that awkward vibe set in I think MOMO started feeling a little uncomfortable (I get what you mean)
Just the whole situation itself, like (Because people said it was awkward, MOMO & JIHYO became the awkward duo)
We ended up being labeled as this super awkward pair But honestly, when MOMO and I had dinner recently We talked so much (Talked until her throat hurt)
My throat hurt when I got home We really talked a lot LOL So I guess it was just the vibe back then… (SANA reveals her own awkward DATE moment)

When I did the DATE with MINA, the whole concept felt awkward (Oh yeah, I remember that)
Right, right We were looking around, taking pics with props and stuff But like, even when we hang out with other members We don’t do couple-style DATE things like that Even though ONCE really liked that episode That’s the point of DATE anyway—showing what ONCE wants to see But the concept was kinda… like “Ugh, so cheesy” (Totally relatable)
It had that kind of vibe And with CHAEYOUNG, I was so surprised by how awkward it felt I’ve always felt comfortable with her Like, I’ve never felt awkward with CHAEYOUNG before (A not-awkward duo turned awkward by a pitch-dark café and JI-CHAENG)
But as soon as we walked in, it was this totally dark café I saw that episode (And the awkward face-touching moment)
You guys were doing that face-touching thing I seriously couldn’t do that JIHYO’s actually low-key bad at that kind of stuff Like, that whole tou~chy~ Kind of vibe – That DATE with CHAEYOUNG felt way too couple-y

I don’t even know why it came up But you started talking about the mouse sign So I was like, “I’m gonna call her JWI (mouse)-HYO” (LOL) Oh right, you told me that LOL (Listen up)
I have a rule (SANA’s contact name RULE)
For numbers that are saved, I always use just a plain heart emoji with the member’s name And I only ever put one emoji Never two (Except for JWI-HYO)
But after I named her JWI-HYO (I mean… she really is a mouse…)
I tried adding a mouse emoji, but it was just too much like a mouse So I thought, “Maybe I’ll switch to an orange heart instead” But it just wasn’t that fun So I ended up making it ‘JWI-HYO’ with a mouse and an orange heart recently (I’m totally loving the new name)

The group chat is just filled with “JWI-HYO, JWI-HYO, JWI-HYO” It makes me happy, it’s cute (JIHYO’s contact list: just names)
For me, I just save everyone under their names Like NAYEON unnie, MOMO, MINA—just their regular names (With exceptions)
Except for SANA and JEONGYEON JEONGYEON’s name is “Yoo Ppakku (Yoo the Rejector)” Because she rejects stuff so much (LOL) SANA’s is “Mochiyaki” Do you remember why? (The story behind how SANA became Mochiyaki)
We were heading home in the car (Oh yeah, I remember)
And you were recommending a restaurant We had this one gopchang (tripe) place we all loved And while we were talking about that place (While suggesting a new spot)
You were like, “But I found this new place recently” – “It’s just as good as that one!”
– Yes! “You said ‘motjianke’?!” (Motjianke → Mochiyaki)
You said “Mochiyaki?” and it was just so cute (Baby Korean speaker SANA’s Mochiyaki origin story)
You didn’t know the word “motjianke (just as good as)” back then And ever since then, for years now—you’ve been SANA Mochiyaki! But don’t you think JEONGYEON’s is a bit much? (Her way of saving contacts)
She puts TWICE in front of every name—TWICE JIHYO, TWICE SANA (Yoo JEONGYEON, we’re hurt)
