【剪定DIY】庭木の形をデザイン|モッコウバラ剪定と6月の庭
My current goal in garden DIY is to remake this place I’ve been remaking the wooden fence since last month I’m trying to unify the design throughout the garden When it comes to making a garden, the most important thing to remember is Plan your work in conjunction with the care of your plants When making large items, align them with the pruning season Not only will it be easier to work with but it will also minimize damage to the plants and they will recover quickly I want to finish making the fence by June This time, there is something I need to do first An important task for designing next year’s scenery That is pruning the Banksia rose after it has flowered This year’s flowering has just finished To keep it this size for next year, I need to cut it smaller now The branches that are too healthy will grow endlessly The branches that are not exposed to the sun will die So that the new flower buds will grow healthy You need to reduce the number of branches And pruning is not just for Banksia rose It’s also to let the sunlight shine on the next the main plants. Plants don’t always grow as you want them to. Pruning to shape the plant while imagining the ideal landscape is a fun challenge that allows you to design the landscape of the future. Now, how should I cut it this year? I don’t want it to grow any bigger I cut off any branches that are vigorous from the base I cut off as many branches that are sticking out as possible I remove all dead branches and petals Once I’ve finished trimming it from above I untie the branches that I’ve been training Untangle the tangled branches There are too many long branches, so reduce their number Also shorten the length of the remaining branches When you’re not sure which branch to cut Look at it from a distance Check to see if there are any thick branches that stand out This branch and this branch stand out Cut them where they branch off from the thin branches You might want to cut them a little higher Try to cut off any thick branches that stand out If you use thin branches to create the overall shape The appearance when the flowers bloom will be beautiful A professional gardener told me So that many flower buds will grow on the thin branches Cut off unnecessary thick branches as much as possible So that light and wind can reach all the leaves We’ll also be removing the overlapping branches. We cut off about half of the branches. Because the view from the side is also important I was wrapping thin branches around the roof If you don’t cut these branches right after they flower they’ll grow so big they’ll break through the roof I’ve had the experience of leaving them alone and letting them grow to be huge I recommend taking action before the branches get too thick. If planted in the ground, it will grow without fertilizer. I gave it fertilizer last year and it started to flower better. I’ll give it fertilizer again this year. So that it will bloom beautifully again next year. The yellow bank roses blooming in the parking lot I pruned them just as the petals started to fall I wanted to make them bloom in a semicircular shape, so I cut everything below this line By cutting off the tips of long branches many side shoots will grow from the remaining parts and flower buds will grow To reduce crowded branches Cut off as many prominent thick branches as possible So that the next main attraction, the oak leaf hydrangea, could get some sun. I trimmed it as compact as possible. Because I wanted to paint here, for my next project, so I pruned it a little early this year. I really wanted to enjoy the flowers a little longer. The trick to keeping pruned plants from weakening is to apply a healing agent to the cut ends of thick branches and that ammonium sulfate is effective for extremely weak plants This was also something the gardener told me I was attacked by a bamboo cricket for the first time last year The plant was pretty weak, I sprayed ammonium sulfate and insecticide around the base and gave it a good dose of diluted stimulant A month has passed since then New buds are slowly coming out Not just the Banksia rose Oakleaf hydrangea is also getting bigger Thanks to the light reaching the back The Annabelle in the back is growing bigger than usual Maybe it’s because I finished pruning early Oakleaf hydrangea will change color They will continue to bloom for another month or so (like in July) While I’m preparing to build a fence here I hope to enjoy the flowers for a long time The Wisteria that bloomed in April… It’s already like this The vines will grow more and more as we get closer to summer If you find any, you have to keep cutting them. Wisteria flowers on short branches, It’s okay to cut off all the long vines. I’ve finished the pruning that was bothering me. I’ll continue building the fence. The view of this garden that I see this year is possible because of past challenges Some parts are different from what I imagined Some parts are more beautiful than I imagined Even if things don’t go as planned It’s fun to dream of the future and take on challenges. The traits of people who become good at pruning A gardener told me than those who cut little by little for fear of failure those who cut without hesitation who improve much faster It’s important to know the basics of anything It’s not good to just go ahead and do it But it’s also important to take on challenges There’s a saying that “if you love something, you’ll be good at it” It’s better to challenge yourself while having fun It’s a waste to do it out of a sense of obligation or inertia. The best way to discover and learn is to have fun! I explained in detail how to make the fence I’m currently making in the previous video I’ll explain the design and assembly tips, so if you’re interested, please take a look The old fence was set up quite far forward, If we remove it, the garden will look bigger. The flower beds will also get a little more sunlight. I’d be happy if Annabelle gets better. I think we’re about 70% done. This is the only old fence left. I’m a little worried about Whether to dismantle the door decoration I worked so hard to make This is a sign that tells you when to prune your garden trees The best time to prune hedges is in May and June I want to decide on the design for the fence by the end of this month I need to finish pruning. I’ll think of a strategy while I’m tidying up. While I’m doing this kind of mindless work Sometimes I get good ideas. The sound of scissors is soothing. I really like this time these days I want to keep the blade sharp for a long time I clean it with a blade cleaner after use Thank you for your hard work today Finally, let me give you a little report Some of you may already know this, but Last year, I made a path in my backyard, and I had the opportunity to appear on Japanese TV BS11 “Yuka Kurotani Makes a Garden”
