最難関のドア作り 2×2mの特大スライドドア これでシロアリも怖くない!

Welcome to our channel. We’ve entered the rainy season. Long rain hasn’t really started yet, but we have to get ready before then . We brought the work table into the house thinking that I might be able to work inside. Bad idea Instead, we chose under the greenhouse although rain pours in on windy days The only thing left to do for exterior is to make the doors Making these doors is the most difficult task for me so far. It’s a bit daunting and I’m burdened whether I can build sturdy ones or not I’m going to use a new tool that I’ve never used before. If you’re a DIYer, you might know this A tool useful when connecting two parts with a dowel It allows you to drill holes with accuracy in the surfaces that will be joined together. In making this door, I must line and assemble thin boards horizontally. In order for the boards to be securely fastened, I decied to use dowels along with wood glue. I’ve never used this tool before, so I experimented a few times to make sure the parts fit together correctly. Those of you who’ve been watching this channel probably know this, but I’ve planned to place two doors on the south wall. One is the door accessing into the bathroom from the outside, and the other is the door that I wanted to stick to the most, a large opening door measuring 2 square meters Since I didn’t have the confidence to start with the big door, I started with the smaller one. The usual, adjustments to cut on the right angle The materials sre from the only hardware store on this island I felt it difficult to make doors of the exact measures. Every time I went to the hardware store, I chose materials that were as straight and unwarped as possible. I took out all the overlapping materials and checked the warping of the boards with one eye. Usualy, there were only a few boards that weren’t warped, so it took a while to get all the boards I needed. Doors are thin, so they warp easily. To avoid this, I layered multiple boards together so that the boards erase each other’s warps Attach a cat flap on this door The most important core must be glued sturdily together I don’t have a larger clamp so have to come up with ideas Press onto the work table with clamps so the boards stick tightly together May woke me up this morning. May only comes home crying when she really felt lonely or when she is soaked in the rain. But when she catches prey, she always comes home crying. She has prey in her mouth, so you can tell right away because her cry sounds different. May is a true hunter. She will catch anything that moves and eat it. Its always my job to clean up after her Pancakes for breakfast with lots of honey and butter This door, yeah, we should make the big door together right? Yeah. And then after the big door is done, can you take it off once so I can paint into orange Now that the glue has dried, I can finish up with the small door I made the door larger than the actual dimensions. Why? It is because then, I can cut it by the final perfect dimensions. All I have to do now is drill a keyhole, attach hinges, and install it. Now, my big challenge, the huge door. I’m glad I made the small door first. I feel a bit more confident. As I mentioned in the previous video when making the frames, there will be a rail on top and the door will hang from it. It’s so heavy, so there was no other option I will assmble the boards not too different from the small door. First, make the core of the door and attach the boards on to it The difference is that a window will be installed in it A 120 x 40 cm glass on the upper part of the door The work table is too small so will continue on the house floor We need larger clamps, but since we don’t have any so use our creativity Screwes pieces of wood onto the floor to squeeze it up The core frame looks good The boards are firmly glued and it turned out pretty well. Now, just like the small door, we will attach boards to the front and back. To tell you the truth, this work was supposed to be done in one day, but in the end, we couldn’t Until this day, I had looked at the blueprints and brainstormed on the procedures many times, but things didn’t go as I expected and I got really frustrated halfway through. Before I started, I had intended to finish it in one day, so I started to get feel anxious. I’m glad that later on, I came to my senses and gave up trying to finish it in a day. Nothing good comes out from rushing So we only managed to finish one side of this door Next morning, finished the other side Was continuation from yesterday so was a quick job We’re almost done. The last board will be attached after the others are all cut straight Finally, all the sides will be cut to the correct dimensions. We will paint this one as well, attach the rail parts, and finally install it on the house. Measuring diagnally so that it is a right angle About 59 57. This side is shorter. Need to carve out where the metal parts come How’ this? Using a tool to support drilling a straight hole for the bolts Ah, it fell off!! That was close! Calm down One more time Fits perfectly Once we install the window, it’s complete. This also is a custom-made double-glazed glass We apply caulking from both sides to secure it Making the doors was the most demanding, tricky part of building this house I felt a sense of dread even before I got started It turned out that it actually was quite challenging If you ask what was so difficult, I guess it was because it required precision. Wow, it was tough It actually took five days, including installation. Riddance of the old door Both doors have been installed They will be exposed to the sun and wind and rain, and may become distorted, so I can only hope that no drafts come in . The exterior work is about done. We are now ready for Tanegashima’s X-day, the day when the swarm of termites cover the island. Thank you for watching. See you next time.
