In this episode, I will be sharing my recent visit to the newly opened Yitian Holiday Plaza in Luohu, Shenzhen, which opened on April 30. The mall covers a total floor area of 120,000 square meters and integrates shopping, dining, art, and architecture all in one. It is also conveniently located near three Hong Kong border crossings. Curious about the highlights and delicious food? Let’s check it out together. Let’s go! Before we begin, please subscribe to my channel. Your support is my greatest motivation to continue creating videos. The nearest metro station to the mall is Cuizhu Station on Line 3. It is also close to the Luohu, Wenjindu, and Liantang border crossings. Taking a taxi from the border crossings will only take a short ride. If you are taking the metro, start from Luohu Station on Line 1, get off at Laojie Station, then transfer to Line 3 and ride two stops to Cuizhu Station. Exit from Exit B2, descend a few steps, and walk straight ahead. It’s just a short walk before you will see today’s destination — Luohu Yitian Holiday Plaza. It’s approximately 140 meters from the station to the mall, just a few minutes on foot. The mall also connects to a construction site across the street, which is in fact another highlight — the “Hall of Light.” This time, the mall invited renowned 84-year-old Japanese architect Mr. Tadao Ando to design it. This is his first architectural work in Shenzhen, named “Yitian Art City.” I am very excited to see this world-class cultural and artistic center in person. Its three major highlights are the Wall of Hope, the Sky Chapel, and the Sky Terrace. Right at the entrance, I saw my favorite dessert shop, “Qian Yu Ben Pu.” They also have a branch at the Central Walk shopping mall. I make sure to visit every time. I think their desserts are consistently well made. A must-try is their “Wild Peach Gum Taro Balls.” It’s topped with lotus seeds and served with coconut milk. The peach gum is cooked to a perfect chewy texture, similar to jelly when bitten into, and has a delightful bite. It was truly outstanding. It also came with delightfully chewy taro balls, as well as small glutinous rice balls in two colors. If you check in on Meituan or Dianping, you’ll receive an exclusive complimentary dessert for members. In addition, I sometimes order the mango smoothie. Their mango smoothie is exceptionally smooth, with a rich mango flavor. Directly opposite is an I-7 bakery. The bread there is crafted in very refined shapes. In fact, bakeries in China nowadays are of very high standards overall. This mall has a total of seven above-ground floors. The current level is L1. One level down is B1, where you’ll find the customer service center. In addition to general inquiries, they also offer luggage storage services. Wheelchair and umbrella rental are also available, as well as mailing services. From now until June 22, the mall is running promotional offers. Today is Children’s Day (June 1). Spend just 6.1 yuan at any store in the mall, and you can redeem a cotton candy with your receipt. Seeing the colorful cotton candy, twirled into fluffy swirls, really evokes a sense of childlike joy. To my surprise, the complimentary cotton candy was impressively large. In addition to that, there were balloon artists at the mall entrance handing out balloon sculptures to children. Just outside the customer service center is an escalator that leads directly to one of the mall’s main highlights: a nearly 50,000-square-foot Yonghui Superstore. It features not only cooked deli items popular among Hong Kong visitors, but also a variety of household goods. They guarantee all products are sold fresh on the same day. There are also quirky and fun items available, including alcoholic beverages. I even found the orange liqueur I often use for baking. There’s also a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, and fresh beef is available too. Each pack clearly indicates the production date. Their steaks are truly impressive. There’s also an enormous seafood section, where you can handpick live seafood and have it freshly prepared on the spot. One of the most thoughtful features is that they provide disposable gloves for customers to use when selecting fruit. Clean water is also available to help customers open plastic bags with wet hands. Thick gloves are provided next to the freezer to prevent customers from getting frostbite. Near the entrance and exit, you can also find complimentary weighing scales and vision testing machines. Reading glasses and magnifying lenses are also available for seniors. Hair care products are offered free of charge as well. Let’s take a look at the floor map. Apart from Yonghui Supermarket, there are actually many other shops here. This floor’s theme is “LOHAS” (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability), so you’ll find many dining options. The food court on this level mainly features fast and light meals. For example, chicken wing stuffed with rice for just over ten yuan, and freshly made beef pastries. The pastries are hot and crispy — quite delicious. Back on the previous level, B1, you’ll find more non-food-related stores. This level’s theme is “Trendy Play.” This shop can convert all lace-up shoes into slip-on styles. By installing their twist-lock mechanism, a few turns mimic the effect of tying shoelaces. I recently went to Japan and bought a similar pair myself. It’s truly convenient. They also offer a wide variety of lock designs. This store’s shelves are filled with Totoro plush toys and many creative stationery items. Such as cartoon-style metal stamps. This brand, OCE, established in 2014, features Nordic-style designs focused on home and lifestyle products. I personally really like this store, JIUMU ZAKKA. In addition to beautifully designed blind boxes, they also carry many novelty toys. The entire mall is positioned as a multi-art experiential shopping center, with five natural themes—flowers, streams, valleys, clouds, and waterfalls—running throughout the design. B1 also features a passageway leading to an outdoor area, where various events are held regularly. These include interactive experiences in collaboration with merchants, and sometimes weekend outdoor markets. among other activities. Like today’s market, which showcases many beautiful paintings. There were also many handcrafted products and snacks on site. For example, Hong Kong-style egg waffles. There were also ornaments made from butterfly specimens. Children could also participate in DIY crafts. Collaborative promotional events were also held with mall merchants. For example, small gifts were given to those who followed certain social media accounts. McDonald’s launched a special lucky bag promotion. Customers could also enter a toy raffle. Sanfu held a ring toss game event. I managed to score four successful tosses. And received a folding mirror as a prize. This section of the Inspiration Zone features the “Four Seasons Flower Lane.” It commemorates 17 consecutive years of flower markets held on Aiguo Road. A collective memory for the people of Shenzhen. This outdoor bakery features a beautifully designed photo spot. The store’s European-style interior is also very charming. Their bread selections are creative and unique. Next to it is a bubble tea shop named “Youxi.” It specializes in Chaoshan fresh milk tea and ice cream. I ordered a rich matcha fresh milk drink. It was refreshingly light. A promotional event was being held today— any purchase came with a complimentary mini ice cream sample. I chose their signature pistachio flavor. It had a smooth and refined texture. Checking in on social media also earned you a souvenir goblet and a small decorative item. Near the entrance, something particularly caught my eye. Can you guess what it is? Dun dun dun dun— It’s these super adorable panda egg tarts! They come in both caramel and chocolate flavors. The outdoor mall uses a terraced design. The upper floors are residential units. However, it appears that construction is still ongoing. Further ahead are several independent shops. Such as “Face Washing Cat” and a yakiniku restaurant. This Western restaurant nearby features both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing. Next to it is a fashion boutique with a uniquely designed photo spot— a column that looks like it’s stacked entirely with books. Returning to the same level as Huawei, which is L1, there is a ramen shop near the parking entrance called “Mian Wu Zhu Yi.” Their ramen quality is quite good. They offer solo meal sets for just over 30 RMB on Meituan. And the most eye-catching feature outdoors is… These two bridges feature a highly creative and innovative design, attracting numerous visitors to take photos and check in. Up ahead is a 24-hour “Chao Fa Chaoshan Beef Restaurant.” Right below this restaurant is the entrance to the parking lot. Parking is free for the first 15 minutes upon entry. Returning to the ground floor layout, the main anchor tenant on this level is “Super Anta.” This floor features a “Refined” theme, with the key tenant being “Super Anta,” a store specializing in athletic gear. I recall mentioning this store during my introduction of Dayun Tiandi. If you haven’t seen that video, feel free to check it out. There is a light café here specializing in soufflés, with décor and ambiance reminiscent of the once-popular “Fufuland” at Wongtee Plaza. They proudly use the richly aromatic “Tapai” whipped cream. In the middle, there is a very large Huawei flagship store, which showcases not only smartphones but also automobiles. Looking inside, the seats are equipped with massage functions. However, upon trying it out, the intensity seemed rather weak. Earlier when we entered from the ground level, next to Gate 4, there was a soon-to-open Apple specialty store, and beside it, a bicycle shop offering various folding and children’s bicycle models. Nearby, there is also a “Beneunder” store that sells lightweight outdoor gear. I personally own one of their umbrellas, and I find its UV protection to be excellent— perfect for the summer season in Hong Kong. Now heading up to the L2 level, the anchor tenant here is “Star Legend.” This level follows a “Trendy” theme. Let me start by introducing the anchor tenant “Star Legend.” In addition to the usual claw machines, there are also basketball arcade machines for both adults and children to enjoy. I also spotted the fishing arcade game I used to be addicted to— it’s truly satisfying once you get into it. There’s also the Taiko drum game, suitable for all ages, which was once very popular in Hong Kong. Even the once-trending dance arcade machine is present. You’ll also find some very large coin-pusher games, with heaps of tokens netted inside the machine— how can anyone resist trying their luck? It’s truly irresistible. Next to “Star Legend” is a store called “Yuan Shi Mu Yu”, which specializes in solid wood furniture made with natural materials. The designs emphasize a minimalist style. This floor’s overall theme is “Fashion,” which naturally attracts many fashion retail brands. Among the various fashion stores, I noticed a sign that read “Blue Sky Climbing,” but I couldn’t see the actual store. So I turned into Sherlock Holmes, and followed the floor markers for clues. Alright, I turned a corner, walked straight ahead and turned again, and just when I was beginning to doubt myself, I finally found the store’s sign. Upon entering, I saw a few children climbing a tall wall. This recessed shop turned out to be a rock climbing school, with a spacious interior. I also tried a drink from Chen Wending Brown Sugar Pearl Milk Tea. They ranked ninth on the Meituan popularity chart, with prices starting at 9.8 RMB for their signature drink, though I personally found the quality rather average. Right next to it is “Ruyuncun,” a restaurant specializing in Yunnan rice noodles. Its interior décor is quite refined, with mist-spraying effects in the seating area that add to the ambiance. Now we’ve reached Level 3, where the main tenant is “Happy Kingdom,” so the theme for this level is “Playful Fun.” Let this grown-up child see what fun awaits. Upon entering, it turned out to be much bigger than expected. Aside from the usual claw machines, there were some unique and very novel machines to me — namely these “fish scooping machines.” Apparently, these machines not only grab toys but also allow players to scoop fish. I saw several children here enjoying the fish scooping immensely. In another section of the arcade, there were luxurious kitchen playsets, with food models that looked incredibly realistic. There was also a zone with game machines suitable for both adults and children. In addition to that, there were also these deer ride-on carts outside. These deer-themed mini cars can take you for a ride around the mall. No wonder they’ve become one of the main attractions on this floor. After playing, it’s only natural for kids to want some ice cream. There’s an ice cream shop just nearby, serving freshly made egg waffles paired with ice cream—absolutely delicious. As the mall is still quite new, some of the shops are still undergoing renovation. At this Crispy Fresh restaurant, you can see staff cutting fresh grass carp right at the entrance. Panning the camera to the side, you can spot various soup bases on display. At this “Sushifuzo” live crab teppanyaki restaurant, they rank fourth on Meituan’s international cuisine popularity list. Their set meal for two is priced at 398 RMB. I opted for the individual set available on Meituan, priced at 98 RMB. The seating comes with a disposable wet towel, which is thick and soft to the touch. The staff grill the main dishes—abalone and chicken steak— directly on the iron griddle. The first course served was cucumber with crab meat in plum sauce, which had a refreshing and slightly tangy flavor. Next came a vinegar jelly appetizer, topped with a shrimp. They also served foie gras, which sounds quite upscale, and the chawanmushi was topped with a layer of clear thickened sauce. Overall, the performance was decent. The miso soup was rather unremarkable. The beef tongue simmered in miso was well-seasoned and flavorful. At this point, the abalone was almost ready to be plated. The abalone measured approximately 8 centimeters in length, though the texture and taste were fairly average. Meanwhile, the chicken steak was grilled to a crispy perfection. The meat wasn’t particularly tender, but the skin was incredibly crispy. Next, the chef began preparing wagyu fried rice, and the moment the egg yolk burst was oddly satisfying. He added seasoning and stir-fried over high heat several times, though the rice could have been cooked at a higher heat. Nonetheless, it was fairly acceptable overall. The final dish was stir-fried mixed vegetables, which I personally quite enjoyed— it was on par with typical stir-fry standards. For dessert, you could choose between red bean soup (simmered for sixteen years) or their signature pudding. I opted for the pudding. When eating it, the egg custard at the bottom was warm, and the caramelized top layer was satisfyingly thick and crisp when tapped. Check in on Dianping and receive a complimentary glass of orange juice. The table next to us ordered the lobster set. A thoughtful detail is that the staff ask about any dietary restrictions when placing an order. Special requests like less oil or no garlic are accommodated. Let’s continue exploring what else is interesting outside. Here is the popular “Mango Live Seafood Hotpot Buffet,” favored by Hong Kong visitors. The seafood here is freshly caught and cooked on the spot, guaranteeing freshness. Some seafood is pre-portioned and neatly displayed. Like a large raw oyster showcased right in front of you. They even offer freshly opened durians on-site, sure to please durian lovers. This restaurant specializes in Hangzhou cuisine. The once-trendy “Gui Man Long” also has a branch here. However, I still believe their branch in the Ping An Finance Center has the most exquisite décor. This “Gui Chu Sour Soup Beef” is their first branch in Shenzhen. The interior décor is unique, and as soon as you step in, you’re greeted with the rich aroma of sour soup. Their beef also looks impressively fresh. What I particularly love is the staff’s silver ethnic-style attire. Next door is a Sanfu retail store chain, offering not only cute stationery but also some uniquely designed hair accessories that would really stand out when tied into a ponytail. Beyond dining options, this floor also features many children’s clothing stores. The kids’ fashion styles are very trendy, children today are truly fortunate. There’s even a barbershop catering specifically to kids. Now arriving at L4, the highlight tenants on this floor are the international cinema and Mi Bookstore. This level’s theme is “Taste Harmony.” The anchor tenants such as the cinema and Mi Bookstore are not yet open for business. Nearby, the “Os Kitchen” was selected for the 2025 Douyin “Heartthrob List.” Its décor and furnishings are steeped in Russian flair, reminding me of my travel days in Moscow. This restaurant, “Under the Big Banyan Tree,” features Shunde cuisine, and has received several awards. Its signature dishes include “Daliang Crispy Milk” and “Double-Skin Milk.” Here is their menu for your reference. This time, I chose a restaurant that specializes in rock-grilled steaks, called “One Sand, One City.” Each dining table here features themed decorations, making it very suitable for celebrations and especially romantic. I tried their signature drink, the “Fresh Berry Jasmine.” The sparkling drink is filled with fruit pulp. The taste is light and elegant, and not overly sweet. The main course arrived. I ordered the French butter hand-shaved cheese Australian steak. I requested it to be medium rare. The staff also shaves the cheese fresh on site. Watching the cheese melt instantly is truly soothing. When the dish was nearly done, the staff let me taste it first. Then all the beef was placed on the hot iron plate. Next, you choose one from five types of beef butter. This time, I picked the black truffle cheese butter. The beef was not very tender. The flavor was somewhat lacking. Overall, it was average. Another popular dish is the Parmesan Cheese Fries. Parmesan Cheese Fries. I also bought a Creme Brulee for 10 yuan on Meituan. When tapping it with a spoon, the caramelized sugar layer was just right in thickness. But the egg flavor and smoothness were just average. If you are willing to check in on social media, you can receive a small gift, or you can choose this glass cup as a gift. When you arrive at the L5 floor, you can clearly see that the ceiling is made of glass, providing excellent natural lighting. This makes the entire mall especially bright during the daytime. Arriving at the top floor of the mall, the main tenant here is Shengfeng City. The theme of this floor is “Feast.” The newly opened Shengfeng City has long queues at the entrance. Everyone is waiting to enjoy dim sum. Not only is the interior fully occupied, but even the corridors are filled with people sitting. Besides dim sum, I noticed their seafood is very fresh. At the counter, I even saw matsuba crab and Alaskan crab. There is also a Guizhou sour soup fish restaurant called “Up Mountain Down Mountain.” The theme of this floor is “Feast.” Of course, various restaurants are present. Such as “Hainanli,” which specializes in coconut chicken hot pot. The interior decoration features my favorite lake-green color. And every table is equipped with many hot pot racks. Pot. Additionally, there is “Longhua Chicken Hotpot,” specializing in chicken hotpot. The restaurant named “Banu No-Belly Hotpot” also operates 24 hours a day. Similar to “Chaofa Beef” on L2, which is also open 24 hours. This shows that people in Shenzhen have a special fondness for enjoying hotpot late at night. This “Mr. Judy Hair Wash” is a chain hair salon that I frequent often. Both hair washing and drying are done at the same seat. Each seat is equipped with a curtain, ensuring personal privacy. Every chair is an electric massage chair, and blankets are provided if you feel cold. All towels used are disposable, ensuring hygiene and cleanliness. The hair dryers used are all Dyson brand. Each customer may also select a drink of their choice. That concludes the introduction of this shop. In fact, this mall offers a wide variety of stores to explore. Moreover, the promotional events are thoughtfully organized. Its location is close to multiple border crossings, making it very convenient for visitors from Hong Kong. If you are interested, you are sincerely invited to visit in person. Alright, that concludes this sharing session.
