[사나의 냉터뷰] 트와이스(TWICE) X 세븐틴(SEVENTEEN) = 잡도리⁉️ l EP.10 세븐틴 호시 & 우지 편
Hello, this is Sana from ‘Sana’s Fridge Interview.’ Today’s guests are… Honestly, I’ve seen them for a long time. We’ve seen each other for a while. But we’ve never actually talked. They’re my same-age friends. Let’s bring them out now. Seventeen’s Hoshi and Woozi, please come in. – Hello.
– Hello. Hello. Hello. – Nice to meet you.
– Nice to meet you. Have a seat, have a seat. We’ve been promoting for 10 years now. And on music shows, we usually see each other in teams. That’s right. – I don’t think we’ve ever met one-on-one.
– Right. Would you like to say hi to the camera first? Sure. – Hi, I’m Hoshi.
– I’m Woozi. Nice to meet you. First off, I want to start with an apology. You sent me your album. – But I was overseas at the time.
– That’s right x4 – Oh yeah, I did send it.
– Wait, I actually brought it. You really don’t have to post about it if you don’t want to. I really, really wanted to post about it. Because the letter you wrote was so thoughtful. So I brought it with me. Let me brag about it a bit. We only gave it to people born in 1996. – That’s right.
– Exactly. You even included lighting with it. Right. I watched the very first performance too. I’ve never seen anyone do a debut stage that cool before. Is it because it’s your 10th year? You’re also in your 10th year though… We have this thing called “banmo time.” – We just speak casually right away.
– Banmo okay x3 – What’s banmo?
– It’s short for “banmal mode.” Banmal mode. – Banmal mode.
– Banmal mode. From Busan. I see. – So we just drop honorifics, right?
– Yeah. – Okay x3
– Let’s just talk comfortably. Where are you from? Osaka. Oh, kind of similar. – Tokyo and Osaka, and Seoul and Busan.
– Yeah x3 I totally have a dialect too. What’s your last name? Like Uzumaki Naruto or something? You know something Sana, like this. Look at that head turn – Minatozaki.
– Minatozaki? – Minatozaki Sana?
– Yeah. That’s so cool. Thanks. What kind of dynamic do you two have? Like, when you’re together? Just like how you guys are when you’re with people your age, same for us. A chill vibe. You guys have known each other for over 10 years, right? – Yeah, yeah.
– Same with us. How many years has it been? – Around 15 years?
– Yeah. – 15 years?
-Yeah, we met in middle school. – Pretty similar.
– How about you guys? Momo and I have known each other for about 14, 15 years. We debuted in the same year. – But I think this is the first time we’ve actually talked one-on-one.
– Right. – But aren’t you friends with Jeongyeon?
– Yeah, I know Jeongyeon. I heard about you from Jeongyeon. She said you’re really passionate and work super hard. You go all in on variety shows too. “Freddy, I love you!” Do you know that? You were seriously so cute back then. But the way I got to know Jeongyeon was I logged into KartRider and she was already there. I was like, is Yoo Jeongyeon the ambassador of KartRider or something? We invited each other and kept playing, and that’s how we became friends. But honestly, meeting you guys really boosted my self-esteem back then. – Why?
– Because when I play with my group members – I’m always dead last.
– Yeah, he’s usually last. – But when I play with TWICE, I actually rank pretty high.
– Yeah, like top tier. And one of the reasons I loved gaming with Jeongyeon was when we log in together and play she can’t get in. That’s what made it so fun. What do you mean she can’t get in? – So, if someone finishes the race early
– I get in first… you have to enter within 10 seconds. – But she can’t make it in that time,
– She never makes it in. And that’s how we became close. – It was so much fun gaming with Jeongyeon.
– You liked it. Jeongyeon, you better watch this. Jeongyeon, thank you so much. – You didn’t play KartRider, right?
– I did. – You did?
– Yeah. Then why didn’t you join us? – I didn’t even know you were playing.
– Ohh, I see. How would I know? Only 8 people can join. As soon as you came in, you were all curious, poking around that basket in the back. – Right, right.
– You were the first guest to touch the set. This place feels like it’s way out in the countryside, huh? It looked all soft-lit and dreamy, so I thought it was somewhere in Seoul. – But turns out, we’re way out.
– Yeah, really out in the outskirts. And suddenly we were like – going into a place that’s not the road.
– Totally. “Is this even the right place?” It’s where a forest path and mountain trail meet. Still, thanks for coming all the way out here. But Woozi, I haven’t seen you on variety shows much. What made you say yes to ‘Fridge Interview’? I got a recommendation, and I thought, “It’d be nice to leave something meaningful for the fans.” – And since it’s just two of us, it felt more comfortable.
– That’s a relief. – You’re not regretting being here, right?
– Not at all, seriously. – Especially getting to talk like this, just the two of us, looking slightly down and to the side.
– Nope, not one bit. – I usually…
– Smile to myself with one corner of my mouth up. Even us being on ‘Sana’s Fridge Interview’—everything’s kinda tangled right now. Why? What got tangled? – We were supposed to come out when the album drops.
– Right. – But we came after promotions ended.
– Yeah. We already had other variety shows booked. Everything got mixed up. The timing didn’t work out at all. Honestly, I think of this as separate from promotions. I just wanted to do it more relaxed, to be honest. – I see.
– Yeah. You two have really different personalities. You’re super organized and articulate. This time it wasn’t a downward glance—it was a diagonal one. She just went “Cho-ron x5” and said, “Oh really?” That’s it. Anyway, maybe that’s why you click so well. – You guys are kind of like soft tofu and cold tofu.
– Exactly. Tofu? Yeah, true. He likes it. Okay, I’ll make you a welcome drink first. But I heard you don’t drink smoothies. It’s not that I don’t drink them. I just don’t know much about smoothies. So I didn’t fill that part out properly. I’m not used to them. Then what are you used to? – Cola.
– Like… Yeah x3 Should I put cola in it? Hey, cola smoothie sounds kinda good. I mean, I can make it. – Or maybe just stick with what you’re good at.
– I’m not good at anything though. Smoothies are just like that anyway. – I’ll just try making one.
– Alright. So how exactly are you gonna make a cola slushie? No idea. – Ice…
– Isn’t it just blending ice and cola? Yeah, but the ratio matters. If you mess up the ratio, it’s not a smoothie or a slushie. It’s not even a smoothie to begin with. That’s why I said slushie. Sorry. Why? That guy’s always been rude. But it’s funny how different your personalities are. We’re really different. Are there any members whose personalities are kind of similar to yours? I think we’re all different. – Our personalities are all really different.
– Really? That’s wild. Then what do you do when you don’t agree on something? Well, since we have a lot of people we always go with majority rule. Same with us. – Always majority rule?
– Yeah. – It’s majority rule,
– It’s majority rule, but – we still listen to the minority opinions.
– We just listen. We respect them, but in the end, we go with the majority. In the end, it’s always majority vote. – Can’t be helped.
– It’s the easiest way. There’s no other way when you’ve got so many people. – It’s a team, so it’s inevitable.
– Exactly. Then what about when the two of you are doing promotion? – We usually agree on everything.
– Most of the time, we’re on the same page. – Wanna go on Sana’s Fridge Interview?
– Sure, why not? – Wanna do this?
– Alright, let’s do it. But wait, hold up. This is wrong. There’s not enough cola. Has this guy even used this before? – Is it your first time using it?
– No. – I use it all the time.
– All the time? This isn’t easy. It’s actually kinda hard. Really? Takes some skill. Feels like it’s going okay though. – Oh? It’s actually not bad.
– Right? Hey, at this point just pour the cola. It’s fine, it’s fine. What should we do? Should I put this back in? Yeah, that could work. Close your eyes, quick. – Close your eyes.
– It’s okay, it’s okay. What do I do now? – Help me.
– Should I do it? – I’ll do it.
– Yes, yes, go ahead, guest. Sorry. Still looks good. Looks tasty. Then why’s the corner of your mouth going up? Alright, alright. Do you like avocado? I like banana avocado smoothies. So when you asked about smoothies – I said I like banana avocado ones.
– And they’re good. But I didn’t think you’d be the one making it. – You wanna make it?
– No, no. – Make it for me x4
– Alright. But don’t people usually slice them in? – I thought that too.
– Yeah? I was just gonna slice it inside. Look, look. Didn’t I cut it well? That’s a clean cut. Should we use both? Use both. You’re such a J-type, thanks. Thank you. Let’s add this in. Adding this in. One cup of avocado. So there’s a ratio to this? Of course. If you mess up the ratio, it turns into something else. Add it like this. Cocoa. Cocoa powder? – You like chocolate?
– Of course I do. You look like someone who would. You just seem like someone who’d love chocolate. What does that even mean? Looking like someone who likes chocolate. In my mind You look like the type who’d drink that DoraXX stuff as a hangover cure after drinking. – Chocolate milk?
– Yeah. What kind of alcohol do you usually like? I drink whiskey pretty often. You look like someone who’d like whiskey too. – Huh?
– Like, seriously. Like, seriously. It really depends on the food though. Sometimes I drink soju. What about you, Hoshi? What do you like? Me? I, I… He has been waiting for this. – Been waiting for someone to ask, huh?
– Right? Totally waiting. I don’t think wine agrees with me. Red wine gives me a headache and tequila too—it’s really bad. Me too. Whiskey. – He’s into whiskey too.
– Either whiskey or cognac. How about you? Me? I like wine or… I don’t drink whiskey that often, but I do like it. I also like Cass Lemon. Two cups of ice. But for how long… No, it’s because there’s so much ice. Have you tried it? – You haven’t, right?
– No, I’m just checking the texture. Turns out while doing stuff like this you get inspired with ideas for the next song. Not exactly like that… Where do you get inspiration? – Sometimes everywhere, sometimes nowhere.
– Oh, the hand’s out. Here come the interview hands! Sometimes you get it, sometimes you don’t. So did you have a moment of inspiration today? – Not yet…
– Not yet? But it was kind of. Still, it was kinda cool. What? x3 What was cool? This situation. And choosing slushie as a welcome drink was pretty funny too. I even started wondering, “Why a slushie?” Then I’ll make it right. This better be good. You’re actually really strict about following the recipe. One, two, three, four, five. You gotta follow it properly. So do you guys usually cook? I really don’t. Not at all. – You don’t?
– He does a bit. I cook quite a bit. Do you follow recipes? I used to in the beginning. Nowadays, not so much. Must be good now then. Why are you looking? Why? No no, I was just wondering. Is that alcohol? Why are you looking at my monitor! That’s mine! What is that? What even is it? It’s syrup. You knew what it was when you added it, right? Yeah, I know. There’s nothing in there that shouldn’t be. There used to be a lot of random stuff. I see. When someone makes it for you, you just trust them. – She’s really putting effort into it.
– Yeah. We just met, and you’re already doubting me? That’s not okay. You’re actually the first person I’ve doubted this fast. Watch closely. I’m seriously good at this. Doesn’t this one look way better? I mean, it’s kinda the same… So they’re basically the same? It’s a drink either way. It’s done. How is it? How does it look? Looks good. – I think this one’s gonna be pretty good.
– Looks tasty. What’s that green stuff? – Isn’t that apple mint?
– Apple mint. – This is the real welcome smoothie.
– Okay, okay. – Thanks for the drink.
– Yeah, enjoy. You gotta be honest, okay? Really? Like, totally seriously. You can clearly taste every single ingredient in it. – It’s good, but…
– It didn’t blend, huh? – Still, it’s pretty good. I mean, it’s tasty.
– Yeah. So if this were on a café menu, would you buy it? Nah, I wouldn’t. What if it were free? If it’s free, I’d drink it. – You would?
– Yeah. You wouldn’t drink it even if I gave it to you, right? Meanwhile, this guy’s sipping cola. Oh? He actually likes it. The way the ice crunches… – Try it, it’s good.
– Give it a sip. But the bubble’s gone, right? Yeah, but the ice helps. The ice is a bit… I crushed it on purpose earlier. The ice goes right up the straw. It’s tasty. I think the cocoa’s just a bit too strong. Yeah, I think so too. I took a sip but couldn’t tell what flavor it was, so I had another. But it’s not bad, honestly. It’s not amazing, but it’s not terrible either. But then another sip makes it seem bad again. – Then another sip, and it’s not bad again.
– It’s weird. It’s just weird. Welcome! – I used to think we had no 96 friends in this industry.
– Same here. – Us too.
– Hardly any. – I swear, no 96 friends.
– Exactly. That’s why no one sticks together. If you ask me, only SEVENTEEN and TWICE have e96 members. Nah, MONSTA X has Changkyun. Yeah, MONSTA X too. – NCT has Doyoung.
– True, NCT… – Every group has at least one.
– No, where there’s a lot of them. – Oh, where there’s a lot of them.
– There will be at least one. Right. So 96 is only you two? No, no. Wonwoo and Jun. So four total. Then that’s quite a few when you think about it. Our teams have a lot of 96 members. – Yeah, a lot.
– You guys too. You’ve got plenty, huh? What do you think are the traits of people born in the Year of the Rat? Do they use the zodiac in Japan too? Yeah, I’m a Rat. Do they use that in Japanese too? – Yeah.
– What’s it called? – Nezumi.
– Nezumi. That reminds me of Digimon—there was Nezumimon or something… Nezumi kids were a bit different back then. We’re part of the generation that got phones later. – We’re part of the generation that got phones later.
– Yeah. – Compared to now.
– Yeah. How old were you when you got your first phone? When did your mom buy it for you? – Elementary school.
– Really? – I was in 6th grade.
– I was in 5th. Back then, you could just go outside and find your friends at the playground. Right x3. – You had a home phone too, right?
– We used to call on the home phone. – You didn’t? In Japan?
– Home phone… Home phones in Japan. Didn’t they shut off when you unplugged them? You had to plug them in. Really? I don’t remember. Do you know NateOn? Do you know BuddyBuddy? – Did you use Cyworld?
– No, I… – Huh?
– She doesn’t know it. That’s the one where you cover your mouth with a little sticker or something. – I didn’t do it.
– I never did it. We don’t really have anything in common. – Must be the country difference.
– True. Back then it was all about Growl. We used to do Growl. – You did Growl? Did SEVENTEEN do it too?
– Of course we did. For real? That’s cute. When I was studying Korean in the practice room, I’d have to run back up right away. When I got up there, they’d actually built a tree. So you did Wolf and the Beauty, huh? You filmed that? Yeah, we did that too. Even that. You really did it, huh? Is it true you took comedy classes as a trainee? There are three elements to comedy. One is relatability. Then there’s surprise. And repetition. So when you’re on variety shows, do you think like, “Time to be relatable, now’s the moment.” You need some level of relatability to be funny. And that kind of thought sticks with you. Because even now, I still remember those three points from that one class 10 years ago. – I still remember that.
– That’s what sticks with you. So you kind of live thinking about it, huh? – Yeah, it lingers.
– It really helps. But Hoshi, you said you felt a kind of inner closeness to me? – TWICE as a group just kinda feels like that.
– Yeah, yeah. TWICE and SEVENTEEN debuted around the same time. When was your first music show? – First music show?
– Yeah. We recorded ours maybe a day or two before our debut. Our digital release date was probably the 29th. But our debut stage was on the 26th. And when I did that first stage, I had this thought. What? – You know how the red light comes on when the camera’s rolling?
– Yeah. I remember thinking, “This is easier than I thought.” Me too! Right? It’s because we practiced the choreo so much. So even while dancing, if the red light comes on over there. – You just look over there.
– Exactly. That’s manageable. When I saw the red light, I thought, “Hey, this is easy.” But when I looked at the monitor, it was totally different. – Totally different.
– There’s a delay, right? The red light was on here, so I looked this way, but on the monitor, it looked like I was staring off somewhere weird. You guys were good from the start. Most of us were looking in random directions We’d be gesturing off to the wrong camera, even. You guys were solid from the beginning—congrats. Nah, not really. You guys made it big from the beginning. We’re pretty similar. When I think back on our promo days I still remember all of SEVENTEEN’s songs. We promoted at the same time, so your songs are stuck in my head too. When TWICE debuted, our promos overlapped too. ‘Like OOH-AHH’ and ‘CHEER.’ ‘CHEER UP’, ‘CHEER UP’!Cheers! Wait, CHEERS is our song. ‘CHEER UP’, ‘CHEER UP’. That’s the grown-up version—CHEERS. Yeah, ‘CHEERS.’ – ‘TT’ came out too.
– ‘TT’, and ‘Send SIGNAL’ too. – I remember them all.
– ‘Send a SIGNAL’? It’s just ‘SIGNAL’. ‘SIGNAL’! Like “Send a signal” — zzzap zzzap. When we debuted, I don’t think it was as easy to promote as it is now. Like, for us we didn’t have a manager, so we pulled our own suitcases to the green room. – For real?
– Yeah. – We didn’t even have a ride at first.
– No pickup service for us either. – So you took taxis?
– Yup. Took a taxi to the salon. Yeah, seriously. Why though! It was everyone’s first time—13 members. And Pledis had never managed a group that big either. It was the first time for all of us. For our company, honestly, if we flopped, the whole company could’ve gone under. They were in such a bad financial situation. So when did things start to change, like getting picked up and stuff? Not during the first album—starting with the second. How many vans did you have? – Two.
– We had two too. We even had three people in the front, including the driver. – Behind the driver?
– No, no. – There’s the driver’s seat, the passenger seat, and even a spot between them.
– There’s that tiny middle spot between the seats. Is it okay to sit there, right? Because a Starex can fit 11 people. – Really?
– Yeah, we had 11 people in one van. So all 11 of us would ride in that one van. – And the other 2 members…
– They took a separate car with staff. – So two vans total?
– Yeah, for real? It was first come, first served. – Always first come, first served for us.
– Same for us. If you don’t go quickly, it causes fights. Because then someone will be like, “Why does he get that seat?” We were strict about it—first come, first served. Anyone could ride, but… You had to run hard to get a spot. But back then… Only Seungkwan wore in-ears? – In-ears are expensive.
– Exactly. – We…
– We had to buy them ourselves. – Really?
– Same for us—we had to buy ours too. But they were so expensive. So we just used regular wired earphones sometimes. – On stage?
– Yeah. – Like the ones from iPhones?
– Yeah, yeah. – That’s what Seungkwan used.
– It actually worked really well. – The sound quality was that good?
– Yeah, totally clear. – Really?
– No problem at all. When we first started using them we’d wear them but they’d fall out while dancing, so we had to tape them down. – Right?
– Yeah, totally. – Right, yeah, and we…
– Remembered when you talked about it. And remember our mics back then? Yeah, that skin-tone mic with tape on it. – We still use those sometimes.
– Really? After using those for a few years we upgraded to Crown mics. – Then from Crown
– Yup, yup. – Yup, yup.
– to Beta. – Crown hurt a lot. Gave you a headache.
– Totally. – They really did hurt.
– So we switched to Beta. – That area…
– Yeah, Beta’s better. This is hilarious. Before you joined your company did you ever audition at other agencies? – No?
– Nah. I auditioned for SM though. – Really?
– Yeah. – You liked SM?
– I did. Who did you like? I was really into SHINee back then. Seriously? How far did you get? I didn’t. I got cut in the first round. But maybe your destiny was to meet these members here. – Must’ve been fate.
– Totally x3. Yeah, this turned out to be the best path after all. Hey, but you guys did a tour in the U.S. That was a huge one, wasn’t it? – Even MISAMO did a dome tour.
– Yeah, that’s right. You did a stadium too. You went to Nissan, didn’t you? Yeah, and you always put on such great shows. – I’m proud of you, fellow 96-liner.
– Nissan. So how was it the first time you went to Nissan Stadium? Every time we achieve something we’re always like, “Can we really do this?” “Can we even fill the place?” – We were like that with Nissan too.
– Same here. – When we were heading to Nissan too…
– Us? It just didn’t feel real. But then the fans always come through and fill it up. And they enjoy it so much too. So when you stepped on that stage at Nissan for the first time you do the opening, right? How was it? – It felt amazing.
– Right? The wind was blowing too. Yeah. For us, the wind was super strong. – So the equipment
– The equipment we were gonna use – We couldn’t use it.
– Yeah, couldn’t use it. We couldn’t use the equipment. Wasn’t it around the time of a typhoon? We performed around a similar time. – The show—
– You guys were next after us. – Right?
– Yeah, yeah, that’s right. – Totally X 3
– I heard you had the venue right after us. We were kind of bummed. We should’ve used it first. You really are like sunshine. Sorry, but you’re like sunshine too. Yeah? Wait, what? Like – You two should just be the sunshine duo.
– Feels like sunshine. You’re similar. But seriously, it’s so wild. We’re totally he’s from Busan and I’m from Namyangju. You’re from Osaka, right? Oh, you’re from Namyangju? I see. It’s crazy how we ended up meeting here from such random places. – We really lived our lives—
– And now we’re here. Isn’t it wild that this is our first real convo? – Nice to meet you. Let’s shake hands.
– Hey, good to meet you. Good to see you, seriously. Because we both debuted in 2015. – And this is literally our first time talking.
– Yeah, right. – I guess the people you’re meant to meet, you meet.
– That must be true. People you’re meant to meet, you meet Do you know the signature question here now? What are you cooking? – Or not?
– Ideal type. Ideal type? Me, right now? I like someone who’s thoughtful, Like that could totally be my type. Or maybe something like, I like this kind of appearance. That’s possible. I hope they’re witty. – That’s important.
– And… I think we need to have good communication. Totally important. That’s it? How about you? What do you think? For me, physical appearance is just like… – You don’t care at all?
– Not at all. Just… There’s a saying, “Let me be proud.” It means “Make me proud.” That kind of mutual relationship is my ideal type. Like, I’ll make you proud, so you make me proud too. – Both sides.
– That’s so cool. That kind of mutual thing makes a healthy – love.
– That’s really cool. What was it? Let me what? My ideal type is – “Let me be proud.”
– Hey, let me try one too. My ideal type is my 2025 ideal type is “Let me be proud.” Right? Wow, you’re seriously a cool person. So like, the lyrics… That’s not a song title, right? – Just write one.
– Should we make one? – Do it. I think it’s good.
– That’s actually really good? If that song ever comes out… Let’s do a challenge with SEVENTEEN and TWICE. When our 10th anniversary album comes out, you all should do it together – Yeah.
– A challenge. – Okay.
– For real? – Okay, sure.
– TWICE. All the members. So for our 10th anniversary… – If something comes out.
– Yeah, let’s do it. But is this okay? Doing this just the three of us without the other members… – Is it okay for us to decide on our own?
– Let’s just decide for now. – Let’s decide for now.
– Yeah. – We just dropped it on the broadcast.
– Yeah. – Okay okay.
– Let’s see how people react. Yeah, sounds good. Let’s open it up gently. Gently. Whose fridge is whose? This one’s mine and that one’s Jiwoo, Woozi’s. You can totally tell it’s split in half. You can kind of see each of our tastes in the fridge. So whose are we introducing first? – Should I go first?
– Sure. I’m a kimchi ambassador, so they send me a lot of kimchi. Lucky you. So I usually pack this when I go overseas. And this is the one I usually keep at home. I’ve never heard of “whole cabbage kimchi” before. Whole cabbage kimchi? What’s “whole”? What are they giving up? So like mat-kimchi is… That they cut up kimchi and made something out of it. Whole cabbage kimchi is a whole head. Oh, so. Then aged kimchi is aged. I like aged kimchi stew. Really? Do you know Corn Frost? – Kellogg’s?
– I love it. I’m actually a model for that too. = Oh wow x3.
– It’s that “tiger energy” thing. – Tiger energy.
– That’s right. So – I carry it around with me pretty often now.
– Roar! Me too, me too! Roar! Back when I was a trainee, I loved yukgaejang so much. Didn’t have much money, so… I’d eat yukgaejang with stuff like this. – Like triangle kimbap.
– Triangle kimbap? These used to be like 700 won back in the day. – And now?
– The price went up? It says 1,600 won here now. – 1,600 won?
– Yeah. That’s way too expensive though. – It went up by 1,000 won.
– Wow, really. After finishing ramen, I’d mix it in and eat it like that. When I’m dieting… I cut down on carbs a bit. And fish is good for land animals. – We’re land animals?
– Yeah, technically. – And like…
– Speaking of land animals… Would a tiger-like friend be a land animal? But we humans are all land animals too, right? Since our feet are on the ground. Let’s just go with that. – Right? We don’t have gills.
– Exactly x3. And this here is… My favorite truffle snack. – That one’s so good.
– They’re potato chips. Perfect for watching movies or dramas at home. – Just open a bag, lie down…
– Totally. – It’s perfect when you eat it on the couch.
– Right. Have you tried the caviar-flavored one? There’s a caviar flavor? Caviar’s really good. – Do you know this brand?
– Yeah. – Really? I only know this one.
– Try the caviar one. This one’s good too, but the caviar one is good in a different way. – Yeah?
– You should try it. It’s really good. Really? – Sounds good.
– This one’s seriously good though. Once you eat this… – The smell…
– Someone’s gonna write a song about truffle chips. No way. – It’s really good.
– Like, seriously good. The truffle smell… – Is nice.
– They really know what they’re doing here. – Not bad, right?
– Yeah, it’s tasty. The truffle oil isn’t too overpowering either. – It’s good, huh?
– Keep going? – Yeah.
– Yeah. This is gimbap. I brought it because of the memories. What kind of memories? Well, back when we debuted we only ate gimbap, We ate a ridiculous amount. Gimbap Heaven was really… Open even in the mornings, like really early. Pre-recordings were always at dawn. So we pretty much always ate gimbap back then. There were good Gimbap Heaven places, and so… – Yeah yeah.
– In front of the old JYP building. That place was good. – We bought it from there a lot.
– Yeah yeah. – Yeah.
– Yeah yeah. Their spam gimbap was so good. Near the old JYP building, there was this one food café. Yeah yeah. The fish cake soup there was really good too. But these days, gimbap is like… – Kind of gourmet now.
– Totally. You know Otto Gimbap? That one’s so good. Yeah, super tasty. And the cost is actually kinda high too. When you think about gimbap. Really? Yeah, because each ingredient… – Has to be cooked separately.
– But Sana’s rich so… She might not know. – If you’re full from jokbal…
– Hey, sorry but you’re literally holding a bag of truffle chips right now. Can you not? Now introduce this side too. Honestly I always like to keep meat stocked just in case. You never know when you’ll need it. I love that. – I usually keep some meat around.
– Meat is great. This is actually one of the foods I really want to show off. I learned this from Myungho in our team. – Cooking?
– Yeah, it’s called coconut chicken. But it’s barely cooking. It’s more like light prep—it’s super simple. You just boil chicken in coconut water like shabu-shabu. With some veggies too. – I can’t picture it.
– Right? It’s hard to imagine. But it’s a really healthy meal. Perfect when you want something light. You can eat a lot of it and it’s great. I eat tomatoes a lot too. They’re super versatile. If you add eggs, you can make tomato-egg stir-fry. You could even use it like pesto or something. Do other stuff with it too. Actually, Woozi goes really well with tomato and egg stir-fry. – You think tomato and egg stir-fry suits me?
– Yeah. Your image is kind of soft… – No strong likes or dislikes.
– And it tastes good. That’s why you make music that no one dislikes. Right. Music that really clicks – with everyone’s ears.
– Exactly x3. That kind of music. I hope my music becomes even more universally loved. You’re such a pro MC. Honestly, I eat a lot, but… How much do you eat? Compared to average people? Like two to three servings? Three to four? I eat even more than that. But I don’t have cravings. I’m good once I’m full. So even if I just get rice and seaweed I’ll eat a few bowls, get full, and I’m done. I’m one of those people who can live like that. I’m pretty much always stocked up on seaweed. If you eat ramen, how many packs do you usually eat? If I eat until I’m full. I’ve eaten up to six packs before. Six packs? – Even buying one of those bundles at the mart wouldn’t be enough.
– Exactly. I actually eat less these days. I used to eat more in the past. As I got older, my digestion started getting worse. Yeah, that’s totally a thing. So these days… There’s a tendency to eat less now, and I try to control how much I eat even on normal days. Woozi, do you have any food that brings back memories like Hoshi with gimbap? At the beginning of our debut, we only ate gimbap. But once we started putting out our first and second albums we kind of leveled up to McDonald’s. We got promoted. And I always ordered the Shanghai burger there. So even now, when I eat a Shanghai burger, it reminds me of the old days. And it’s still delicious, like really good. Each member had their own – a fixed breakfast routine.
– Yeah, fixed. Hoshi still sticks with gimbap. Well, I… – What about you?
– I don’t really like gimbap anymore. Back then, he was obsessed with chicken mayo. – Chicken mayo rice bowl?
– Yeah. He really liked chicken mayo. Then someone must’ve liked wings too. Can’t you order wings with it? – Wings?
– Back then we weren’t at the level to order things like that. Only chicken mayo. Didn’t you guys have stuff like that? – Like a meal allowance or something?
– For us we were told to eat a lot to build stamina. In our waiting room, other idol friends would say “Manager, I want a salad.” – “I’ll have a salad too.”
– Salad. But we were like “How about jokbal?” and then we’d eat jokbal in the waiting room. – That’s nice.
– Since back then. That’s why I don’t really like jokbal now. – Because you ate it too much?
– Jokbal? We had gimbap. I seriously don’t eat gimbap anymore. – Rarely eat it now.
– Gimbap. It’s nice that this fridge has a reason for everything inside. Up here is just too interesting. It made me think I’d like to have a place like this for myself. You can just lightly boil the coconut chicken and eat it. – This?
– Yeah. Sounds good. What are you going to make, Hoshi? Me? I… Pick a menu. How about kimchi stew? – Kimchi stew?
– Yeah. Since we’ve got aged kimchi. – Kimchi stew.
– That’s perfect. Sana, it’s like your Culinary Class Wars mission. – When the ingredients made no sense.
– Right. – That sounds fun.
– Picking them out like that. Why don’t you try it once? How about that? – Sounds good, right?
– Nope. Isn’t that kinda cheeky? I’d like kimchi stew to have some ramen noodles in it. Yeah, yeah. And that coconut and chicken combo from earlier sounds interesting too. Try using the truffle potato chips in some way. You can even use truffle oil if you need to. We’ll do the coconut chicken as it is and then use it for something else too. – Sounds good.
– I’ll think about it. Did you already eat? – I didn’t.
– I did. I feel like I could eat again. – You could eat again?
– Yeah. – Then let’s all fill up here and go.
– Yeah, let’s do that. Nice. I’m in a good mood now. Then I’ll give you an apron. What is this? Hey, what is this? Is this an apron? There are three aprons. Which one do you want? I’ll take this one then. Then… – Do we have to wear this?
– Do we really have to? Hey, you look like you’re in costume. It just looks like today’s outfit. – It is today’s outfit.
– This is… So this is what an apron looks like? Isn’t an apron meant to keep you from spilling stuff? We’re about to really start cooking now. So far on Fridge Interview we’ve never really done full-on cooking. It’s basically Culinary Class Wars, right? – Basically.
– Yep. Let’s say a few words of determination. It’s been a while since I’ve cooked. Still, I’ll try to make something tasty. Alright. I’ll try to cook something delicious. Okay, sounds good. Let’s go, fighting. – To all the contestants.
– Fighting. Do you need me to help with anything? Just stay still. Do you know what he said to me when the cameras weren’t rolling earlier? He said to me, “Sana, you don’t cook, do you?” I was like, “Huh? Why?” and he goes “You don’t have the face of someone who cooks.” Being able to say stuff like that – I think it’s the power of being the same age.
– Exactly. – Of course.
– Casual speech mode? It’s easy to get close like this. But it depends on the person. – Depends on the person?
– Yeah. Can you pull my apron up just a little? That’s hilarious. Almost ended up showing off my charm. My style is more like Just throw everything in and boil it. But the taste is usually about the same. – Can I ask one thing I’m curious about?
– Sure. You talk to yourself a lot at home, right? I’m filming “I Live Alone” by myself. So I really don’t need to help at all? Sure. – Then I’m gonna eat some chips.
– Sure x3 You’re eating chips before the meal? Are you my mom? That’s totally something moms say. So Woozi, what are you gonna make? Right now, I’m thinking… Something like seared bluefin tuna with truffle. – That sounds delicious.
– Seared bluefin tuna with truffle. Not a bad idea, I think it’ll turn out well. Hoshi, what are you gonna do? This is totally a black vs. white theme. – Looks like the white side is gonna win.
– No way. – No, but still…
– You never know. – Kimchi stew is
– Kimchi stew is – a guaranteed flavor.
– as long as the kimchi is good. – It’s a guaranteed flavor.
– As long as the kimchi is good. Some people stir-fry the kimchi first and then add water. Others add the water, meat, and everything all at once. But I put the meat in first. Why? Chef? I watched a little YouTube earlier. Did some chef specifically say that? I just searched “how to make simple kimchi stew” and it came up. It was a YouTube Shorts video. It was a quick recipe—it’s okay to follow that, right? – Of course.
– But here it seems a bit more serious. There’s not much to it. Just stir-fry the meat a bit, then add water and kimchi. This looks delicious. Both look good. Now I’m going to pour in the water. About this much. Hey, thanks. Don’t you have to put all of this in too? It’s kimchi stew, right? That’s a good idea. – Looks so good.
– It really does now. I would ask if it’s mixing well, but I’ve kind of been gently stirring the whole time. Why did we used to be so cautious back then? Originally… I’m sorry. I’m sorry. – Looks good.
– Just a little. – Wait.
– Just joking. – Seriously,
– I’ll just eat this myself. I totally wasn’t paying attention. Chef, how’s it going for you? Did you hear that relaxed answer? This looks so good. – Even the way he sprinkles things is different.
– Totally. – Hey, you try it.
– Sprinkle it? – Yeah.
– Oh shoot. Now we just wait for it to start bubbling. Bubbling. Need any help? Hey, if we let this simmer, it’ll be amazing. Isn’t anyone here into camping or stuff like this? – I’ve been a lot.
– No but seriously. No like, hamburger steak. Whoa, whoa. Whoa, whoa. – Wait, did you do the egg yolk like that?
– Yeah. That’s fish, right? Both of them look seriously good. Ding. That’s it. When judging, keep in mind it cooled down. – Got it.
– Since time passed… Got it. It’s a dish with real thought behind it. So I’m really looking forward to it. I really love kimchi stew. The way the meat is cut and everything—exactly how I like it. So of course I can’t help but be excited. Bottom line: I’m super excited for both. Kimchi stew looks delicious. – Right?
– Yeah. – Is it good?
– It’s really good. Feels like it just needs some ramen noodles. Now really? It’s becoming really ambiguous to check the taste. Shall we try it? Done. – Please try it.
– Okay then. – Should we try what Jihoon made first?
– I’m curious too right now. She said to make use of that ingredient a bit. I was trying to work it into the dish. It’s good. Pretty nice. The flavor turned out just like you imagined. Even though I didn’t follow a recipe. The fact that it’s this well seasoned is kind of unbelievable. Like, how did you get rid of the fishy taste so well? Seriously. Garlic. So… Let’s try again. Feels like this would go with beer or sake. I was thinking the same. Hey, don’t you seriously crave a drink right now? – Yeah.
– Craving what? Cass Lemon? Want one? – Yes.
– A little bit of truffle oil… Delicious. We’re gonna get a beer sponsorship at this rate. Cass. Wouldn’t something spicy hit the spot right now? Totally. That would be great. Looks so good. Wait, it’s kimchi stew but there’s no soup? – Looks like it’ll taste good though.
– Right? There’s no broth. There’s no broth to scoop up. – But yeah, I bet it’s still tasty.
– Right? – Thanks for the food.
– Thanks for the food. Thanks for the food. Not bad, right? – It’s good, right?
– In my face… You can see cooking in my face, can’t you? – It’s there, it’s there.
– You see it, right? – Yeah, I see the kimchi stew in you.
– Then we’re good. I think it’s gonna be tasty. Thank you for the food. It’s delicious. It’s good, you did well. Tastes great. Kimchi stew restaurants tend to have a long history. Like those places moms have been running for ages. But this place feels like it’s been around for about 7 years or so. That’s detailed. Both dishes have completely different charms, and they’re both so good. This is like a Ho-Woo omakase. Any famous places you recommend in Osaka? I’d love some recommendations like that. Because whenever we go somewhere the staff recommends they try to take care of us, so it ends up being somewhere fancy. Only expensive places. But we honestly prefer those local hole-in-the-wall places on the street. Where you can order a highball, listen to locals chatting in Japanese… – I get what you mean.
– And pretend we understand Japanese too. That’s the real fun. I’m genuinely curious about Japan’s real hidden gems. – Local food spots.
– Yeah. I really want to know. Don’t you have any? But I’ve lived in Korea for so long now, just like you guys… – Right.
– Makes sense. – You’ve spent half your life in Korea.
– True. So sadly, I don’t have any places to recommend… – Then ask your mom.
– Yeah. – I’ll ask her and let you know later.
– Sounds good. This is really interesting. I wonder what it’ll taste like? But this is so unique. I mean, I didn’t really do much. Can we even call it cooking? But honestly, it’s really good. This dish is seriously good. – Thank you for the food.
– Thank you for the food. – It’s the first time three dishes are being shown on Fridge Interview.
– Really? How long has Fridge Interview been running? At first, I temporarily filled in for Dex as the MC. Then I ended up doing it again. – Tastes great.
– It’s so good. You weren’t curious, were you? Then why’d you ask? – The coconut flavor
= The coconut scent… – and ponzu is a bit tangy.
– True. They go really well together. This is so tasty. – Seriously delicious.
– Yeah. – Totally my style.
– It’s so light and clean. You look like the owner here. We’re like regulars now. Students, come again next time. It’s super efficient. Takes almost no effort. – It only uses coconut water.
– Right! – Isn’t it great?
– So tasty. – This is originally Chinese cuisine?
– Yeah. No seasoning at all, just coconut water. This is really good. Tastes amazing. But Woozi. You’re comfortable around me now, right? – Right?
– Yeah. Because you’re talking a lot more. You’re definitely more talkative. – And your voice got louder too.
– Yeah, totally ×5 He’s actually usually really quiet and super shy around people. So originally, I was supposed to come here alone. I heard. Wait, I wasn’t even supposed to be here? – They told me to be there
– I didn’t know that. so I was like, “Okay, sounds good.” Okay! So it was supposed to be just you, huh? – That’s right.
– I had no idea. He asked, “You wanna go on Fridge Interview?” And I said, “Yeah, sounds great.” Thanks to that, the three of us ended up meeting. Right? We even made a new friend. – Yeah, feels like we made some friends.
– Totally. Since Woozi brought the ingredients and made it, you should give it a name. Then people can copy it using that name. You gotta turn this into something great, right? What should we call it? Even just naming it will make the fans happy. Woozi’s Favorite Coconut Chicken. That’s cute. – Woozi’s Favorite Coconut Chicken.
– Chicken. – Hoshi’s Favorite Kimchi Stew.
– Kimchi stew. – Who’s gonna write this down?
– Should I? Okay. Is this the rehearsal? Yeah, the kimchi stew? With Woozi’s seared tuna truffle. The three of us, Our Coconut Chicken. I wrote it like this. I’m touched. If you give that to me, I’ll go pass it around. We’re going to play a new game now. Today we’re doing something Woozi’s good at—making dalgona. Like the shape-cutting game from Squid Game. If I succeed within one minute I’ll give you two a gift. If I succeed within one minute here our subscribers will get a discount coupon. Let’s make it. When I was a kid, this was sold in front of stationery shops. Making it? Yeah, there was a machine for it. There were molds too, like for Pokémon and stuff. Pokémon instead of stars? – They had shapes like that.
– That’s wild. We could probably make two with this. Just make a small batch. They don’t have this in Japan, do they? Dalgona culture and stuff. No dalgona there. – Then what do they have?
– There’s something kind of like dalgona bread. They sell it already cracked. Then they sell little versions stuck on a short stick. This is my first time making it. I saw this on TV once I tried to do it at home with a spoon and a ladle. But I didn’t know you had to add baking soda. I was too young. So I got smacked by my mom. Can I get a spoon from the back? Thanks. It’s totally different from how it looked at the start. So cool. Looks like it’s gonna work? I think we can make two out of this. What shape are you gonna do? Go for the star. – Star, okay.
– We’ll do a heart. We’ll do a triangle. You do this one. It suits you. Nah, triangle is perfect for us. You’re going with something easy. The star! Isn’t the star the one where you die if you mess it up? You know, right? I have to do well for you guys to get your gifts. Yeah, hey—you do the triangle one. Seriously. Hey! Your true personality just got exposed on camera. Seriously! – Your personality…
– Wow… What was your last name again? How many times are you gonna ask? What was it? What was it again? – Minatozaki.
– Minatozaki, Minatozaki. – At this point, isn’t he gonna take that last name after filming?
– Minatozaki. Now I’m gonna be thinking about “Minatozaki” again right before I sleep. What was it again? You could just search it. – You can look it up?
– Yeah, it shows up. I tried to make it too big. I should’ve pressed this down just a little. I pushed too deep to get it to break cleanly. This one failed. Failed. – Should we just eat this and play rock-paper-scissors, Sana?
– Let’s do that. – That sounds good.
– Right? Here, you eat this. Thanks, thanks. Perfect dessert. I’ll let you try it just once. I can do that one right away. If I stack one of these up… If you get three stacked, it’s 50. Two is 30. One is 20. They all have to be stacked at the same time, right? This seems way too hard. Start. Come on, hurry. You can do this. – Okay, okay, stay calm.
– Calm, calm. Hurry and solve it. You too, start solving fast. Once one’s up let’s count that as a success. Yeah, yeah. Just try getting one up. – Got it, got it.
– I can definitely get one up perfectly. How many seconds left? 10 seconds. Okay, stay calm. – Calm, calm.
– It’s okay, don’t worry, stay calm. Calm down, calm down. – Just get one up, one!
– Stay calm, stay calm. – Just get one on.
– Calm down, calm down. Stay calm. Stay calm, stay calm. Since we got one, that means 20%, right? – Okay, okay.
– Nice, nice. That’s nice. – That was so fun.
– We did so much today. And honestly, it really feels like we became friends. We didn’t have any connection before this. It felt like, “You really do meet the people you’re meant to meet.” – We didn’t even try, and yet here we are.
– Right, right. What about you, Woozi? It was a rare kind of shoot. I mean, I don’t film often anyway, but out of the few I’ve done, this one was really interesting and fun. That’s a relief. Now say something to Carats to wrap it up. Carats, if it’s okay with you for our 10th anniversary and new album we’re thinking of doing a full challenge with TWICE. Please keep showing lots of love to Fridge Interview. Hope you enjoy it. Thank you. Thank you. Up until now, it’s been – Hoshi.
– Woozi. And Sana. – Thank you.
– Thank you. Did you all enjoy it? Hoshi and Woozi worked hard to win a 20% discount coupon for you all. Click the link in the description. Download the coupon. And you’ll receive the discount coupon. All the details are written clearly in the description so make sure to check it out. Bye now! See you in two weeks. – Thanks so so much for joining us.
– Thanks! What’s this? You said you liked whiskey. This is awesome. I feel like I might get into trouble with this. Yeah, this could be dangerous. It looks like this. Take a look from the side. – Opening it…
– Looks like it’ll break easily. – Looks fragile.
– You’re right. Perfect whiskey glass. Oh, that’s great. So good, so good. One, two, three!
