■素桜神社の神代桜
素桜神社の神代桜(すざくらじんじゃのじんだいざくら)は、長野市の近郊にある巨桜で、「素桜神社」の境内に立つ、樹齢約1,200年の一本桜です。品種はエドヒガンザクラで、根回り9m、目通り周囲は11.3m、国の「天然記念物」に指定されています。
■宇木の千歳桜
宇木の千歳桜(ちとせざくら)は、長野市の東に位置する巨桜で、名称は「千歳」ですが、実際の樹齢は約850年と推定されます。見晴らしの良い丘陵の農園地帯に、一際大きく目立つ存在で、樹高約10m、幹回り約6mで、県の天然記念物に指定されており、別名「宇木のエドヒガン」とも呼ばれます。
■中曽根のエドヒガン
中曽根(なかそね)のエドヒガンは、長野県南部の伊那谷にある巨桜で、樹高約13m、根元周囲6.7m、樹齢は1,000年を超えます。木の下に小さな祝殿があり、権現様が祀られているところから、「権現桜(ごんげんざくら)」とも呼ばれ、背後には中央アルプスがそびえます。
■愛宕様の小彼岸桜
愛宕様の小彼岸桜(あたごさまのこひがんざくら)は、長野県の最南端近くの里山に立つ巨桜で、樹高14m、根元周囲4m、樹齢は約350年~400年です。その名のとおり、愛宕神社の境内に立つ小彼岸桜の巨木で、根本に鳥居が二つ立ち、神秘的な雰囲気をかもし出しています。
■黒船桜
黒船桜(くろふねざくら)は、長野県南部の山間部に位置する巨桜で、江戸時代にペリー艦隊が来航した年に植えられたと伝わる樹高10m、幹周り3m、樹齢約170年のしだれ桜です。枝張りは東西19m、南北14m、どこから見ても「絵」になり、素朴な里山の中に立つロケーションも素晴らしいです。
■蔵澤寺のしだれ桜
蔵澤寺(ぞうたくじ)のしだれ桜は、長野県南部の蔵澤寺の境内に立つ巨桜で、三門(駒ヶ根市の有形文化財)の横にあり、樹齢は約300年です。境内には他にも5~6本の枝垂れ桜があり、優雅なお花見ができます。
■栖林寺のしだれ桜
栖林寺(せいりんじ)のしだれ桜は、長野県南部の栖林寺の境内に立つ巨桜で、樹高約19m、幹周り2.7m、樹齢約250年のしだれ桜です。残雪の中央アルプスと共に一本桜を見られることでも有名で、敷地の外側から見ると、滝が流れ落ちるように咲いています。
■勝間薬師堂のしだれ桜(2本)
勝間薬師堂(かつまやくしどう)のしだれ桜は、高遠城址を望む小高い丘にある巨桜で、お堂の傍に、樹齢約150年のしだれ桜が2本立ちます。高遠城址公園から南に約1kmほどの場所にある桜で、巨桜と「日本三大桜名所」の共演も見所です。
■小坂中村地籍のシダレザクラ
小坂中村地籍のシダレザクラ(おさかなかむらちせきのしだれざくら)は、諏訪湖の南西にある巨桜で、樹高17m、幹周約6m、樹齢約200年のシダレザクラです。諏訪湖を見下ろす住宅地のなかに立つ一本桜で、「諏訪湖とシダレザクラ」の景色も満喫できます。
■関所破りの桜
関所破りの桜(せきしょやぶりのさくら)は、長野県東部の佐久市にある巨桜で、小高い丘の上に雄々しく立つ樹齢約300年のシダレザクラです。関所破りの桜の背後には浅間山(日本百名山)も遠望でき、雄大な浅間山と可憐なシダレザクラの共演も楽しめます。
■泉小太郎の枝垂れ桜
アルプス公園は松本市街の北西にある公園で、北アルプスの山々を展望できる高台の上にあります。公園にある一本桜は「泉小太郎の枝垂れ桜」と呼ばれ、民話に登場する泉小太郎が植えたという、伝説にもとづいて名付けられています。
■安養寺のしだれ桜
安養寺(あんようじ)は、松本市の近郊にある浄土真宗本願寺派の寺院で、境内に20数本のしだれ桜があり「桜の寺」として有名です。特に本堂正面にある2本が樹齢500年、350年とされる巨桜で、境内の水田に巨桜が映り、情緒ある景観を生みだしています。
■水中のしだれ桜
水中のしだれ桜(みずなかのしだれざくら)は、高山村にある樹齢約260年の1本桜で、「信州高山五大桜」の一つに数えられます。樹高約22m、幹周約4m、樹冠約12mで、しだれ桜としてはまだ若く、樹勢は盛んです。
■赤和観音のしだれ桜
赤和観音のしだれ桜(あかわかんのんのしだれざくら)は、高山村にある樹齢約200年の1本桜で、「信州高山五大桜」の一つに数えられます。樹高は約15mで、山中の観音堂の登り口に立っており、赤みの濃いの花の色で、斜めにせり出した姿が印象的です。手前に菜の花畑もあり「巨桜と菜の花」の景観も楽しめます。
■黒部のエドヒガン桜
黒部のエドヒガン桜(くろべのえどひがんざくら)は、高山村にある樹齢約500年の1本桜で、「信州高山五大桜」の一つに数えられます。樹高約13m、幹周約7m、樹冠約15mで、水田地帯にただ一本だけ立ち、花の赤みが濃いのが特徴です。
■坪井のしだれ桜
坪井のしだれ桜(つぼいのしだれざくら)は、高山村にある樹齢約600年の1本桜で、「信州高山五大桜」の一つに数えられます。五大桜の中では一番古く、樹高約10m、幹周約8m、樹冠約16mで、周辺に菜の花畑が広がり「巨桜と菜の花」の共演も見所です。
■中塩のしだれ桜
中塩のしだれ桜(なかしおのしだれざくら)は、高山村にある樹齢約160年の1本桜で、「信州高山五大桜」の一つに数えられます。阿弥陀堂の道端に立ち、樹の根元には地蔵が安置されています。樹高は約10mで枝張りがよく、端正な樹形をしています。
■和美の桜
和美の桜(なごみのさくら)は、高山村にある樹齢約100年の1本桜で、村役場近くの民家の畑にポツンと立っています。高山村にある他の桜に比べるとまだ若く小さい方ですが、周囲の田園風景と調和した姿が美しい名木です。
