What matters is whether you can still enjoy sea bass fishing 10 to 20 years from now. That’s right. Sea bass are still around, although there are fewer of them than there used to be. He knows a lot about it. We don’t have to live to be 100 years old like we used to.

I was listening to your story, hoping to find what I aspire to as I approach your age. This happened the year before last. There is a wonderful angler named ICHIRO ODAKA in Chiba. He is the person who launched the KOMINATO fishing spot. I went sea bass fishing there with him last year.

That was really interesting. He is a strong man who can destroy SENKOTSU. You found it interesting, didn’t you? He is the second chairman of the association that pioneered rock fishing in Chiba. He runs several guesthouses for anglers. He was a fisherman who caught turban shells on the shore.

Is it a fisherman who wears underwater glasses? That’s right. I took him on his boat and went fishing. He encouraged homeowners to run guesthouses, and opened four famous guesthouses. He had members of Chiba’s rock fishing club open a guest house. He had such a strong influence in the Chiba rock fishing club.

Even in a vertical ditch like this, he spread the sardine bait in moderation. I saw it right in front of me and thought I couldn’t imitate it. What was amazing was that there was an offshore embankment there. At that time, KAIJI fishing was being held in Chiba.

It was not fishing for large fish from a boat, but fishing without using a float. He himself runs a tatami shop. I met him when he was in his 20s. He was like this at the time.

Since the tatami shop has a lot of urgent work to do, he was free in the evening. This is especially true for KOMINATO. So he fished from dusk until late at night. He used a Reel rod called NOBEZAO and was fishing without a float. He was using FUKURO ISOME.

This is where he feels the movement of the fish on his hook. He was fishing by watching the current. Also, he was using two fishing rods. It was a virtuosic feat. He was using two rods, right? yes. He had GANDAMA attached to this rod. He also fished with a bare rod.

I was lucky enough to meet such a person. Without him, no one would have known about KOMINATO. I often feel that I am in a good position because I have accumulated such experience over such a long period of time.

However, if I had to describe myself in just one word, I would have to say this. I’m really bad at fishing. I’ve been fishing for a long time, so I have some experience. I have a lot of attachments to fishing in many different ways. Wait a minute, this is amazing. This is amazing.

What is that? This part is also amazing. We need to come here three times to see them all. I would also like to hear about freshwater fishing. Let’s hear about it after talking about TANAGO. We’re talking about multiple stories, not just one. That’s right. Whenever I look for something, it never comes up.

It’s also realistic and good. In an instant, four hours passed. What he said earlier was the most impressive. Yes, certainly. We tend to talk about the past. We tend to draw the line there, but we were wrong. I thought he was exactly right. People often ask me this when I’m live streaming videos.

But this is the biggest YAMABE I’ve caught. What’s more, MARUHASHI took this fish print. So it’s a great memorial. Things like this are good. I have a long history, including this one. You don’t have any boundaries that say, “It’s no good unless it’s this type of fishing.” You enjoy it all.

However, I don’t think HERABUNA fishing is fun. Because that world is out of my reach. The people I met when I was a kid fishing for HERABUNA were not cheerful. They don’t make many friends. In fact, they almost said that anything other than HERABUNA fishing is not fishing.

They were also particular about their tools. There are people who make it difficult to participate. This is common among people who use big baits. But you should not compare them with the old people. This is because young people have a narrow perspective. It would be good if their horizons were broader.

But he’s out there doing the work, so don’t deny that. Even people like them may wake up at some point and break away from their previous thoughts. He is a real young businessman. This is the fourth time you’ve said that. That’s enough.

He often talks about sea bass, but he also really wants to go SAND BORER fishing. Because, as I’ve said before, any type of fishing is fun. However, there are some boring types of fishing that you should not undertake. What I hate is fishing for smelt. It has its own world. That is shocking.

People drill holes in the ice and fish for them. From the perspective of those who fish TANAGO, that is not fishing. There are no people around here who fish for smelt. There is a big difference between catching 1000 TANAGO and catching smelt. I can’t imagine catching 1000 TANAGO.

It’s tiny enough to fit here. However, unless you are a certain level of proficiency, you won’t be able to catch it. People who catch 1000 fish in a day are amazing. They swing the rod into the water and as soon as the bait is hooked, they pull it out.

When I was in elementary school, I met a TANAGO fishing expert at INBANUMA. He never exaggerated. That person was amazing. He was wearing short boots, which you may not be familiar with. Also, he was wearing a black leather jacket. He was on KEISEI LINE. Because he went to INBANUMA.

He was eating rice crackers called SHINAGAWAMAKI and drinking alcohol. His station was the same as mine. When I went there the next day, he was there too. He asked me, “What did you come here for?” I replied to him that I had come to fish for TANAGO.

To my surprise, he took out the fish bait from here. Did it come from here? Yes, and he had inserted a horse racing newspaper here. He is a real fisherman. But he’s a little different. I watched him fishing from a neighboring spot. He was fishing quietly in the winter scenery.

It was the first time I saw someone fishing TANAGO. He was fishing TANAGO as if snatching it out of the river. It was a cold time like now, right? Yes, TANAGO, YAMABE, and BUNA are fish that can be caught during the cold season.

Isn’t that usually done at a time when it’s difficult to catch fish? Yes, that’s the cool thing about it. By the way, does he fish like this? yes. By swinging the fishing rod into the water, the bait will sink. And by moving it like this, the fish will bite the bait.

Unknown to us, he was pulling a fishing rod at the time. The fish was already on the hook at that time. And right after that, the fish was already here. He is a true master. His work is that of a master. I’d like to see that.

I also joined the TANAGO fishing research group when I was in my 30s. Almost all the masters fished in the same way. Even more amazing, he used a double Hook. He used it to catch fish like this. I was using an 8 foot fishing rod at the time. Was it 8 feet?

I thought it would work. But he was using a 12-foot fishing rod. What exactly does that mean? Was it like that all day? That’s right. Were there 1000 fish there? A true genius, he calculated how many fish he could catch in each hole and gave away the unnecessary holes to others.

He would sometimes put his fishing line into a hole over someone else’s head. He was a true genius. At the study group, I was able to see a true fishing genius. That is awesome. His name is KAWAGISHI, and he barely belongs to that research group.

Because the geniuses of old know that there are fewer fish. Does that apply to TANAGO fishing as well? Catching TANAGO has become much more difficult than before. I didn’t know that. That’s why I feel superior. That phrase comes up frequently. You feel superior.

By the way, the fishing methods we know cannot be used with TANAGO fishing rods, right? did you see this? what is that? I previously saw this article about fishing originating from EDOMAE. It’s this rod. This is an article from several years ago. That’s a surprisingly recent article.

The article before or after this one is about me. I see. It’s an article about me. Shall I put these away? Let’s put it over there so it doesn’t get dirty. This is something we should avoid getting dirty. This is a rod. I made this.

This is something that only Japanese people do. That’s right. Only Japanese people do such stupid things. The Japanese pay attention to detail, including using real wood. This is made entirely of bamboo, including the tip. what are you saying? Is it about 2 feet? This is amazing.

Wait a minute, is this enough for one? . This is the rod for fishing TANAGO, right? That’s right. I don’t touch the rod because I fear it will break. Because I’m likely to be criticized by many people again. No, thanks. What’s amazing about this is this part. It goes in like this.

Does this fit completely? Yes, and this cannot be extended any further. Something like this only exists in 1 in 10,000. In other words, does this mean it has never been cut? That’s right. I am the only one who has bamboo like this. I only applied cashew paint to this.

This is a B grade product. Bamboo is super A grade. I see. It’s great because it’s your handmade work. What I find interesting is this. This is one of the independent hobbies I enjoy after fishing in the winter. There is also a drying rod over there. All of them are class C.

Those are class C. I have given away A-grade and A-grade items to others. What’s amazing about this is that it’s a tree root. This is the part that was underground. Does this mean that this is the part that was buried in the soil? This is the part that was all underground.

Is this an underground stem? I took it to someone and had them straighten it. This was initially very crooked. This is not something that was above ground, but an underground rhizome. There is nothing unique like this on the ground. These are incomparable. This is amazing. That’s why I feel good about it.

What’s interesting about it? I’m a B-class guy and this is fake. Still, I’m invincible. It is amazing. I don’t apply lacquer or use high-quality materials. I made this the simple way, just applying cashew paint. But that’s what I enjoy. It’s a good thing that you don’t have to worry about tools.

I am digesting what I have learned from meeting such people. When I see their skills, I compare them to my own. But I never thought about mending my ways. I fish in my own way. But you’re always excited, right? Of course, because it’s fishing. That’s perfect.

The important thing is to enjoy fishing based on your own values, rather than comparing yourself to others. People like him are much better at fishing than I am. But I can fish with them my way. If they find my method interesting, that makes me happy. it’s good.

I was able to hear good things from you. For some reason, we tend to compete. That can’t be helped. Unfortunately, people are competitive. I also participated in various competitions, but there were many people who I would never win against. I see. At that time, a certain master told me this.

FURUYAMA, you should have figured it out by now. With your skill, you will never win. But the fact that I met these people and watched them fish is very important. They are the ones who are perfectly capable of pinpoint Casting. I can only do it once in three times.

Unfortunately, no matter how much I practice, I’m no match for them. Geniuses have the ability to do something without practicing. Ordinary people cannot become like them even if they practice. But that doesn’t matter to me, I care how I do things. That’s what matters for our own excitement.

That’s why I feel good about it. I’ll start saying that when I turn 60. You can already say that at this point. KUBOTA, you say it. Am I the first to say that? But when he says that, people think he’s cocky.

If you’re not familiar with this conversation today, you probably don’t quite understand what that phrase means. I would be considered cocky. After simply enjoying fishing, we say to those who can’t do it that it’s a good feeling. That is, “I enjoyed fishing.” I want to be able to say the same thing in 10 to 20 years. We don’t need to make high quality rods. Bamboo is everywhere, so we should try it too.

That’s what I thought when I saw his lure. He remakes them himself for his own enjoyment. He also painted the Snecon. I thought it was great that he was doing it for his own enjoyment. I learned that from him. Fishing is essentially a dialogue with nature, not a competition with people.
