LUXURY CARD will donate 1 yen per view of this video to support the victims of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. Hokuriku Shinkansen KAGAYAKI Tokyo – Kanazawa (approx. 2 hours and 30 minutes)

This time, as someone who grew up in Kanazawa, this is a trip to places that I can wholeheartedly recommend as a quality adult holiday.

A castle town with a beautiful traditional culture, where the prosperity of the Kaga domain area, which was blessed with the greatest wealth in the region during the Edo period, is still alive today. It is blessed with rich ingredients and has a high-quality food culture.

We hope this will give you some tips for your trip to Kanazawa, such as sightseeing and gourmet food. This tourist information center will deliver your luggage to major hotels. This saves you the hassle of leaving your luggage at the hotel and allows you to go sightseeing right away.

When you go outside, you will see a large glass “hospitality dome” from which you can board tour buses and taxis. On January 1, 2024, a large earthquake occurred with its epicenter in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture, causing severe damage.

I was born in Suzu City, which was hit hard by the disaster, and grew up in Kanazawa. My parents’ house was completely destroyed by this earthquake, and my hometown has completely changed. When I was wondering if there was anything I could do, my favorite credit card, Luxury Card, suggested a recovery support project.

First of all, I and Luxury Card donated 500,000 yen to Ishikawa Prefecture. In addition, for every view of this video, we will donate an additional 1 yen from Luxury Card.

In response to the current situation where the number of tourists to Kanazawa City, which had little damage, has drastically decreased, we created this video to encourage people to take a trip to Kanazawa City.

Please give us your support by playing, commenting, and giving us high ratings so that we can continue to support the project.

This time, I would like to meet up with my sister, who was affected by the disaster, at Kanazawa Station, eat delicious food, and see the beautiful scenery together. This is the beginning of an adult trip to Kanazawa for 2 days and 1 night.

First of all, I wanted to fill my stomach ♪ So I came here. 5 minutes by car from Kanazawa Station. It is right next to Omicho Market and Oyama Shrine. A long-established restaurant with the most history and formality in Kanazawa. And the head of the family is also a dear friend of mine.

Established in 1830, “Ryo-tei Otomoro” has served as a dining restaurant for the Kaga Domain (present-day three prefectures of Hokuriku) for generations since the time of Toshitsune Maeda, the third generation of the Maeda family, the head of the Kaga Domain. We still carry on the traditional local cuisine of the Kaga clan.

It is a stately building that is over 100 years old and has an overwhelming presence. I step through the noren curtain, my heart pounding with anticipation. The red walls and wide dirt floor are impressive. I would like to enjoy Kaga cuisine here.

Climb the large stairs right at the entrance and go to the tatami room on the second floor. It’s spacious! There are several rooms of different sizes and tastes. There are tables and chairs, so your feet are comfortable. Attractive works of art are displayed here and there, making it a feast for the eyes.

First, we were welcomed with tea in the front room. It comes with Moroeya’s Rakugan (sugar candy). I take a breather and start eating. All of the vessels are traditional crafts from Kanazawa, so I’m looking forward to that as well. The alcove is also nice. The incense burner has a Kutani ware flower pattern.

I don’t have to drive this time, so I’m going to have a drink from noon♪ I’m glad that Kanazawa’s local sake is lined up. First up is “Kaburazushi”. Enjoy with black beans and Kaga plum wine.

Yellowtail is sandwiched between turnips and pickled in koji. It is a fermented food that is still widely loved in ordinary households. It has a sour, rich, and nostalgic taste. The bowl is a beautiful old Kutani that conveys the uniqueness of Kutani ware.

Next, a variety of appetizers were placed on a beautifully painted table. I’m glad that there are a lot of Kanazawa-like ingredients such as loach, gori, and shellfish. It has a deep nutritious taste and is addictive.

The spiral-shaped thing on the left is a squid shaped like a bracken and covered with green seaweed. The swirl on the right is yellowtail wrapped in kelp. Loach and gori are ingredients that everyone should try when visiting Kanazawa♪

Next up is the bowl dish. When you open the lid, the scent of yuzu spreads out, and the back of the lid has a beautiful gold-colored gourd drawn on it. The clear soup has fluffy crab masam. The sashimi is then served in a beautiful Kutani ware bowl.

It is seafood from Hokuriku. It’s especially delicious in winter. Next is yellowtail teriyaki. It is very delicious with a thick and glossy filling. The alcoholic beverage is “Kagatobi” from Fukumitsuya♪ Here, a dish that is typical of Kaga cuisine has appeared. This is “steamed sea bream”, which also appears in wedding meals.

It is made by stuffing the belly of a sea bream with gomoku okara, which is made from ingredients such as carrots, burdock, and wood ear mushrooms, and then steaming it. The open-back style is unique to samurai culture, as it is reminiscent of seppuku.

The staff at the store skillfully divides the food into portions like this. The taste is absorbed not only from the sea bream meat but also from the okara, making it an exquisite dish.

Furthermore, “Jibuni” is one of the representative Kaga dishes. It is served in a flat bowl called a “jibe bowl”, which is specially made for jibu-ni. The thick duck meat is coated with a thick bean paste and has an elegant taste. Served with wheat gluten, vegetables, and wasabi.

I’ve eaten here several times before, but the one here is exquisite! In addition, crabs, a winter delight in Hokuriku, have appeared. I have a female snow crab peeled for me. It’s sweet and rich and makes me happy.

The crunch is crab rice. Although it is cold, winter may be the best season to visit Kanazawa. I am very satisfied with the beautiful, delicious food and wonderful tableware until the end. We sincerely recommend it, as you can enjoy traditional Kaga cuisine and the uniqueness of Kanazawa.

Thank you for the treat. I would also like to visit in different seasons. From the center of Kanazawa towards the mountains. I’m heading to my accommodation for the day. Hotels in the center are good, but I would like to relax and enjoy a hot spring inn.

So, I’m going to “Takitei”, the closest hot spring inn from Kanazawa Station! This inn has very good reviews and is popular with locals. For those who have already seen the accommodation report, the continuation will begin at 10:00. We walked along the snow-covered approach beyond the white curtains and

Arrived at Takitei. A beautiful and large entrance. They welcomed us warmly. I’m glad to be able to come to “Taki-tei”, which looks white with snow. It’s in a mountainous area far from the city, so it’s very quiet and rich in nature. I reserved a room called “Annex Saigawa”.

The room is spacious, clean, and nicely designed. From your room, you can enjoy the Sai River, which flows through the center of Kanazawa, up close. Snow and Saigawa. It’s the best scenery. There are massage chairs and a relaxing space, making it very comfortable. This is a bright and open room.

The room has a large hot spring open-air bath like this one, where you can enjoy a snowy bath. This is a separate lounge exclusively for guests. With a modern Japanese design that conveys the warmth of wood, you can enjoy drinks, sweets, reading, and playing games.

The entrance is eye-catching with its lighting and Kaga Yuzen works. A shop with popular items from Kanazawa and Noto. There is a footbath on the waterfall viewing platform where you can see Meoto Falls, from which Takitei takes its name, making it the perfect place for relaxation. It is a natural waterfall. It’s stunning.

The large public bath also has a very nice atmosphere. You can also see the waterfall from the open-air bath. The guest rooms and large public bath surround a beautiful courtyard. He is particular about his food, and it is pleasing to both the eyes and the palate.

Here again, we had Hokuriku seafood and fried gori ♪ We also had male snow crab and Noto beef! As expected, the food in Kanazawa is very delicious. Tomorrow, I’m going to see a lot of beautiful things! good night.

Good morning. It’s the morning of the second day. As soon as I wake up, I take a bath in the open-air bath in my room. All rooms have their own private rooms for both breakfast and dinner.

Breakfast at a hot spring inn. A lot of side dishes are lined up and you will feel happy. Boiled tofu from a locally famous tofu shop and dried red bean sprouts overnight. There are many Kanazawa obanzai dishes that will satisfy both your heart and stomach.

It’s a shame to leave so much behind, but I’d like to go see some of Kanazawa for the first time in a while. We have provided a detailed accommodation report in a separate video, so please take a look ♪

We will pay with the luxury card that we have partnered with this time and depart! From now on until it was time for the Shinkansen to take us home, we would be touring the center of Kanazawa, so we chartered a sightseeing taxi to pick us up at our hotel.

“Takitei” was a really nice inn, so I would definitely come back again! Discuss your destination with the driver and head towards the center. You can see a panoramic view of Kanazawa! That tall building (Nikko Hotel) is in front of Kanazawa Station.

The sightseeing taxi we chartered this time, “Daiichikotsu”, can be chartered from 1 hour and is very comfortable in Alphard’s Executive Lounge ♪

The information on sightseeing spots and gourmet food is detailed and reliable! If you tell them when you make a reservation that you watched this video, they will give you preferential treatment, so please do so! About 15 minutes by car from Takitei, about 10 minutes from Kanazawa Station. Speaking of Kanazawa, it’s Kenrokuen!

Chartered cars are convenient because they can be parked right in front of you. The area is surrounded by restaurants and souvenir shops with a great atmosphere. It is also connected to Kanazawa Castle Park by a walkway, so you can stop by at the same time.

Ishikawa Gate. The cherry blossom season is especially beautiful! On the left side is the “Katsurasaka Exit” of Kenrokuen. The park is large, so there are several entrances and exits. When I came here for the first time in a while, the ticket sales machines were turned into machines.

It is open to the public for free and is also open for night viewing under illumination, so we recommend checking the latest information before visiting. It’s been a long time since I visited Kenrokuen Garden, and it’s so beautiful, so I thought I’d share it with some spectacular background music, dressed up a bit.

This is Japan’s oldest fountain. It rises naturally by taking advantage of the difference in elevation of the land. Kenrokuen was created in part to secure a waterway from the Sai River. The Saigawa River and waterfall that we saw at Takitei yesterday are connected here.

Kenrokuen Garden, a special place of scenic beauty, began when Tsunanori Maeda, the fifth lord of the Kaga domain, built a villa here and turned the surrounding area into a garden. After that, it was shaped over many years by successive feudal lords. Currently, it is called one of the three great gardens in Japan.

The large garden is constantly maintained. “Kasumigaike” is located in the center. Yukitsuri and remaining snow are a sight unique to winter. There is a plum grove, and the best time to see it is mid-March. On this day, we enjoyed the early blooming plums and wax plums.

I will briefly introduce some of the highlights. This is a pine called “Neagami Matsu”. A pine tree is planted in a mound of soil, and after the roots have grown, the soil is removed. Opposite it is a statue of Yamatotakeru, a legendary hero of ancient Japanese history.

It is 5.5 meters high and is said to be the oldest bronze statue in Japan. Combined with the magnificent pines on both sides, it looks impressive. Head to that side where many large Yukitsuri are gathered. You can see the Kasumigaike pond you saw earlier from the opposite side.

It is said that this “Horai Island” is likened to a turtle, and the pine tree that appears to be floating on the water surface is likened to a crane. A beautiful pine tree that looks like a crane is called “Karasaki Matsu.” The scenery is even more atmospheric during the Yukitsuri season.

If you look outside the park from here, you can enjoy the cityscape of Kanazawa. Finally, we will head to “Kotoji-Toro”, which is also the symbol of Kenrokuen. I’m surprised that there isn’t a line to take commemorative photos here.

The combination of the Rainbow Bridge in the foreground, the nearby maple trees, and the lanterns is the perfect combination. Yukitsuri is available until mid-March. Kenrokuen is a park that continues to have its charm in each season, with snowdrops, plum blossoms, and cherry blossoms. I stopped by here as well as Kenrokuen.

Kanazawa Shrine is located close to Kenrokuen. In the current location of Umebayashi, there was a clan school (a school for educating the children of clan samurai), and it was built as its guardian. It enshrines Michizane Sugawara, the god of learning and the ancestor of the Maeda family.

The plum family crest of the Maeda family is also related to Michizane Sugawara. Many people come to pray for passing the exam. If you’ve come this far, why not stop by here as well? This is the place where the name “Kanazawa” comes from.

This is a spring called “Kinjo Reizawa” located right next to Kanazawa Shrine. There is a legend that a long time ago, when a man named Togoro, who worked as a potato digger, washed his potatoes in this spring water, he found a lot of gold dust. From that legend, Kanarai-no-sawa became Kanazawa.

Return to the shrine and take a look at the amulets and votive tablets that will help you pass the exam. I wrote an ema for my son who is about to take an important exam.

If you have time, we also recommend “Seikaku”, which is also close to Kenrokuen! This is the wife’s palace built by the 13th feudal lord, Nariyasu Maeda, for his mother.

There is an Ishikawa Prefecture Tourist and Product Center near Kenrokuen, where you can purchase sweets from Kanazawa’s famous long-established stores, traditional crafts, and even try your hand at making Japanese sweets ♪ Let’s move on to the next one ♪ Kenroku There are many sights to see around this area, centered around the garden.

Since I have rented a taxi, I can move around freely as I please, so I would like to drive around the famous spots around Kenrokuen. This stone wall belongs to the Gyokuseninmaru Garden, and it seems that it collapsed a little during the recent earthquake.

This is the gate called “Nezumi-Tamon” that connects Gyokuseninmaru Garden and Oyama Shrine. The restoration was completed about 3 years ago, and the black sea rat plaster looks great!

I will drive around the cityscape of Kanazawa, which I haven’t seen in a while, feeling nostalgic. Other than the hedges, there seems to be almost no impact from the earthquake. If you go up the slope from Ishiura Shrine across from Kenrokuen and

Walk along Kenrokuen, you will also find the torii gate of Kanazawa Shrine. This is our next destination. This area is called the Bunka no Mori, and is home to the Prefectural Museum of Art, the History Museum, and the National Crafts Museum, which was recently relocated from Tokyo.

If you purchase the “Bunka no Mori Outing Pass” online, you can enter 16 cultural facilities for 2 days for 1,000 yen, including the aforementioned Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa Castle Park, and the popular 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. It’s a good deal.

I’ve never been to a craft museum, so I decided to stop by. These are the facilities where you can use the Bunka no Mori Odekake Pass. In addition to Kenrokuen and Kanazawa Castle Park, this is a great deal for those who want to visit two or more facilities.

This red brick was once an army arsenal, and after the war it was used as Kanazawa College of Art, and now houses the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of History and the Kaga Honda Museum.

The National Crafts Museum is here! As part of regional revitalization measures, the Tokyo National Museum of Modern Art and Crafts moved to Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture in the fall of 2020 and became a craft museum. With the Luxury Card, the member and one accompanying person get free admission, so I’m grateful for that.

I want you to cherish inspiration, and even in your busy schedules, cherish the stimulation you receive from art. With this in mind, we offer free admission to movies and museums. I think it’s time for lunch! Turn the corner

At Kanazawa City Hall, across from Kenrokuen Garden and near the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art . This is the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. It was closed that day, but has now reopened. Pass the art museum and turn right, heading towards downtown Kanazawa.

From here to Saigawa, there is a downtown area with restaurants and bars. This is a town called “Kakinoki-Batake”. There are many famous shops that have been loved by locals for a long time. All of the shops are popular with tourists. This time it’s this shop! “Grill Nakamuraya”.

Established in 1938, this famous restaurant is one of the pioneers of Western food restaurants in Kanazawa. I head to the seat by the window on the second floor. What should I get today?

Kanazawa is not only famous for seafood, but also has its own Western food culture, so why not visit there for lunch? I made a suggestion. The menu may seem strange, and even dishes you should be familiar with may seem like something you’ve never seen before.

The first thing that was brought to us was “Hanton rice”. It is a dish with fried white fish, shrimp, etc., and tartar sauce on top of omelet rice. The ketchup and tartar sauce are refreshing, filling, satisfying, and delicious ♡ This is the “Kokirumaki-Teishoku” that my sister ordered. This is Grill Nakamuraya’s specialty menu♪

Thinly sliced pork wrapped in white sauce (coquille) and fried. The white sauce contains mushrooms and boiled eggs. It’s like a cream croquette with the flavor of pork added, and it’s delicious! This is a time-consuming menu.

The last one may be familiar to many people. “Kanazawa curry”. Kanazawa curry is characterized by the thick curry, which looks black, topped with a thin layer of pork cutlet, and served with cabbage. I enjoyed it with my driver♪ It was very delicious and I highly recommend it.

Here, I would like to introduce you to the luxury card that proposed this Ishikawa Prefecture earthquake relief project. The design of the luxury card is very good. Made of metal, it has a unique and stylish look!

I’ve never paid much attention to card design before, but I really like the design of luxury cards. I’m attached to it, so I get excited every time I use it♪

It’s a card with Mastercard’s highest status, “World Elite,” which can be used in the most places in the world, so it’s reliable and highly rated♪ A card is meaningless if you can’t use it. . This card gives you the peace of mind that you can use it anywhere.

As introduced in past cruise videos, this card offers many unique benefits not found in other companies, making it a fun card to have.

For example, once you use Concierge, you won’t be able to put it down! Operators respond immediately to all inquiries, and in addition to telephone and email, they also respond to LINE.

In addition to making travel reservations, we also select and make reservations for dining restaurants. Feel free to ask about gifts and surprises. I also asked the concierge to make a reservation for my stay at Takitei.

In addition, “Lounge Hour” can be used on a daily basis at hotel bars.First-class hotel bars and lounges offer members-only sets, perfect for meetings or a light drink.

Furthermore, the members-only “community” where 60% of the members are business owners is also attractive! There are various opportunities for interaction, and I have heard stories of people actually connecting through business and hobbies. Luxury cards have a lot more to offer. How about a colorful and rich daily companion?

Now that you’re full and feeling refreshed, it’s time to move on to the next area! The road between Kenrokuen and Kanazawa Castle Park becomes a tunnel of cherry blossoms in spring. We came to the Higashiyama area, which is about a 5-minute drive from Kenrokuen and where Higashi Chaya is located.

During the Edo period, the area was crowded with many teahouses, and many of the rare teahouse-style townhouses still remain today. Before heading to the main street of Higashi Chaya District, take a detour here, about a 3-minute walk away. Kanazawa is a gold leaf city that boasts over 99% of domestic gold leaf production.

“Gold Leaf Sakuda” is a long-established store that has been in business for over 100 years. We inherit traditional techniques and create new products in line with modern times. Here, you can tour the gold leaf manufacturing workshop at any time without making a reservation.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to visit and take a look around. It’s a wonderful workshop. Gold leaf that has been thinly stretched and molded is transferred. I hold my breath and stare at it. There is someone who can explain the manufacturing process in detail, which makes me even more interested.

It is said that gold is sandwiched between gampi papers and pounded to stretch it to 1/10,000 to 2 mm. The gold leaf at Kinkakuji Temple in Kyoto was of course made in Kanazawa, and it is said that 200,000 pieces were used.

You can also try gold leaf pasting here♪ It’s fun because you can choose from so many things and add your favorite patterns! I have experienced it several times, and I am very attached to it, and I still use it carefully. I was able to see a foil stamping machine♪

Inside the store, there are many products that use gold leaf, and they look shiny. You will fall in love with its elegant shine. Most of the items are figurines, but there are also daily necessities and miscellaneous goods that are easy to pick up, which will stimulate your desire to purchase.

There are many skin care products that contain gold leaf, which makes me curious. This was also in the public bath at Takitei where we stayed this time. Wajima lacquerware and gold leaf are a wonderful combination. The beckoning cat that I wanted so badly (I still want one)

On the second floor, there are large items such as folding screens and ornaments. This restroom is also covered in gold leaf, so please stop by and check it out ♡ I bought this one! I would also like to buy some local sake and enjoy it at home. I came near Higashi Chaya.

Nearby, there is a parking lot for sightseeing taxis at Utasu Shrine, so you can park there. This shrine is located at the Demon Gate of Kanazawa Castle and is enshrined as a god of protection. You may also see geisha’s votive Bon dance.

As you exit the shrine, you will be greeted with a wonderful sight like this. The characteristic Bengara lacquered teahouse architecture is lined up in a latticework called “Kimusuko.” I’m surprised there are so few people. I went out onto the main street.

There are teahouses and shops that are easy for tourists to enter here. It’s a beautiful place with a quaint atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve traveled back in time. Recently, it has become even more fashionable, and you can enjoy lunch or a cafe here.

Branches of Kanazawa’s famous stores are gathered here, so you can enjoy your shopping. I shopped while thinking that it would be lively again soon ♪ First of all, “Fumuroya” has been making gluten in Kanazawa for over 150 years.

“Kuruma-fu” is an indispensable part of the Kanazawa dining table. It absorbs soup stock easily and has exquisite elasticity. Basically, I use it for oden and egg seasoning, but I would like everyone to try it too. There are also cute wheat gluten like this one.

This is a product that creates a soup by putting wheat gluten and vegetables in “Fuyaki” and pouring hot water. We have stores in department stores all over Japan, but here we have products that are exclusive to Kanazawa. Fu is light, so it is suitable as a souvenir.

There is also a select shop selling modern crafts. Kanazawa stationery is intriguing. My younger sister is also shopping for various things while saying how cute♡. When I came to Kanazawa, I definitely wanted to try Japanese sweets. Kanazawa’s Japanese sweets are really delicious. I came to the Higashi Chaya store of “Morihachi”.

Kaga clan’s official confectionery manager. It has a history of 390 years. There are lots of Morihachi sweets in the store! All of them are delicious, but I recommend the red bean paste and rakugan as they are exquisite. This “Chitose” is a sweet dish made of gyuhi wrapped in red bean paste.

There is also a tea room behind Rakugan’s “Choseiden,” which is one of Japan’s three most famous sweets, and you can enjoy fresh sweets here. We have matcha and seasonal sweets such as dorayaki and kudzu cutlets. What I ordered was this fresh confectionery.

This is a cute item that makes you feel the signs of spring. Not only is it beautiful, but it’s also really delicious and I’m overwhelmed with emotion. Morihachi’s main store is located between Higashi Chaya and Kenrokuen, and you can also visit the Kanazawa Confectionery Wooden Museum, Saryo, and experience making Rakugan.

This time, we introduced Higashi Chaya stores that are easy to stop by, but if you have time, please go to the main store ♪ This is the dorayaki “Hodatsu”, which is also smooth and moist, and has a sweet bean paste. The skin is chewy and delicious.

I was very satisfied! I bought a lot of things for souvenirs. I returned to Kanazawa Station and met up with some local friends for a while before heading back to Tokyo. How was your trip to Kanazawa this time?

I really like my hometown, so there are still a lot of stores I want to introduce, but I’ve chosen the ones that I think are really good, that give you a feel of Kanazawa, and that are easy to go to.

This is where I say farewell to Daiichi Kotsu, who drove me for half a day. thank you very much. Thank you again. I would be happy if everyone would take a trip to Kanazawa to support the earthquake recovery efforts, eat delicious food, see beautiful things, and have fun.

Thank you for watching until the end! Where should I go next? That’s it for Lily♪

On January 1st of this year, a large earthquake struck Japan’s Noto Peninsula.
I was born in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, on the Noto Peninsula.
The town was completely transformed by the large earthquake and tsunami.
The house I was born in was completely destroyed.
The collapsed house in the video was taken by my mother.

For this video, we are planning to donate 1 JPY per view to donate to earthquake relief funds.
(A credit card company called Luxury Card is cooperating with us.)

In addition, due to the earthquake, people completely disappeared from Kanazawa,
A tourist city in the same prefecture that did not suffer any damage.
Therefore, I made this video because I wanted as many people as possible to come and visit Kanazawa,
because Noto, which suffered a lot of damage, is dangerous, but Kanazawa is safe.

We have already received a lot of support from many people overseas.
THANK YOU!!

  9. I’m going to Kanazawa recently, this is very helpful❤ Really looking forward for the trip.
